I've just bought my 9700 and when i was updating the app in my device the device suddenlly turned off
and i cant turn it on no matter what ive done and the red led on the right top is keep blinking ( blink 2 times in a pause)
After updating my device software to v 5.0.0.586 from v 5.0.0.423, I encountered the following issues: The keylock key on the top left of my device intermittently does not work. Sometimes, nothing happens, other times it switches the screen off but does not lock the keypad.When hitting the green phone button, the list of recent calls is displayed but the most recent call (at the top of the list) is hidden by the input field and you cannot read the number.I tried a battery pull but this did not help. File free = 120MB. I have since reverted to v 5.0.0.423 but would like to do the upgrade again if these issues can be fixed? Does anyone know anything about this?
View 13 Replies View RelatedJust a couple of days ago, I received a BBM from my daughter, although my cell was turned off for the night. I thought maybe I'd not turned it off. Last night again, I turned it off (I always do every night) and was woken early because not only was my turned off phone receiving messages, it had also enabled my Drive Safely app and the phone was busy reading everything to me.I checked and the phone was off. I still had to push the red phone key to turn it on.I immediately did a battery pull and will hope for the best.Has anyone had this experience?

I disconnected usb cable and tried to turn on the set but it wont turn on. I tried to recharge it and restart it but it also didnt work. Now its still off and I don`t know what to do anymore.

View 3 Replies View Relatedmy bold 9700 turned off and never on, pulled the battery out then plugged again then i got red flashing lights, anyway i tried the latest apploader.exe and blackberry desktop software and all what have been said that can fix error 507 failed to do the job and now i have nothing, all data are wiped and always error and reboot. i tried with and without battery and with unknown usb pin and with known usb pin i think i tried everything!

Ive downloaded it and installed it on my pc then run Desktop Manager, but it says there are no updates for my device..What am I doing wrong?is this the wrong way to update firmware?

Everytime the device backs up it goes all they through and at the end it gives the error message: "There was an error backing up. There could have been a problem with the device or connection during the backup. Verify that the device is turned on and connected."
Apologies if this has been asked before. When I get an HTML email with images, the images show up as attachments. I have "Enable HTML Email" turned on. I am running 5.0.0.330, I have no idea what version of BES we are on.

I would like to update my device software to OS 5 so that I could have accessibility to new features and applications. BUT when I connect my device to my PC(running WIN 7) and check for updates through the blackberry.com/update website I get a pop-up window saying that there are no updates available...In addition, when I check from my desktop manager for updates again I get the message that no updates are available... Since I searched this issue a lot on blackberry forums I found out that I might be able to update my device software through wi-fi. But my device does not have an option for a wireless update...
so is there any way I could update my device software to OS 5? ACTUALLY, is this possible for Bold 9000 or I'm just chasing rainbows?

View 5 Replies View RelatedToday, I signed up for Blackberry Email Service with T-Mobile. I got a message that an update was available, so I downloaded and installed it. However, when the Blackberry rebooted after the installation, (which seemed to take much longer than normal), the screen reads "Blackberry Platform 6.6.0.195" followed by a listing of all of the programs and apps on the Blackberry. There's also an error message that reads, "Uncaught Exception: java.lang.Null Pointer Exception". When I click "OK" there is another message reading, "Uncaught Exception:ApplicationRegistry.wait For(0xbfca09409ffe99e5) timeout. Then I get another reading, "Uncaught Exception:java.lang.Error" Every application on the list seems to have an error, and nothing will open. But I can't even shut the phone off. I have tried all of the four different reboot methods, but nothing seems to work.
I am wondering if I were to sync the Blackberry with the Blackberry Desktop Manager on my lpatop if it would reset the OS to the way it was before the update.
My LED indicator won't stop flashing a purpley-blue colour. I have an app which means I can change the colours, but the thing I have set to this colour is texts and I definately don't have a new text. My LED is turned off for Bluetooth and I don't know what else it could be! It's been flashing for over 12 hours now!

Everything was going all fine and dandy but it is currently stuck on task 12 of 12 (restore device data) and hasnt moved for 3 hrs now...I don't want to unplug the device as it says unplugging may render some data unusable!
I have a Bold 9700 and tried to update the software etc today and got 361 tasks out of 399 using the updater, when an error message came up telling me that there was a problem with the internet?
There wasn't, everything was working fine using the normal browser, so does anyone know what went wrong.I did switch off the anti-virus half way thro'.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just updated my BB 9700 for the first time (511 updates to be exact). The upgrade is currently at 11 out of 12 upgrades and it is taking about 45 minutes to initialize before it gives me the message: "The desktop loader is unable to connect to the device, you may need to enter a password on the device."
The BB is not asking for password and I do not have any password protection on it. I have unplugged the USB from computer and the phone, reconnected and clicked retry and it continues to give me the same message 45 minutes later. I am freaking out a bit because it cleared all my contacts off and I believe the process it is trying to do is to restore that information.
What is the best device bold 9000 or 9700.And why?

They are really small-- like 15KB/day, but it's nonetheless annoying that my Blackberry Bold 9700 is using data even though I turned it off. I use AT&T. Does anyone know why?

I don't recall installing any apps before i slept which would require a reboot. So, i pull out the battery and reinsert it. It was still stuck at 75%. Tried it a few times this morning and still at the start up screen. I need help ASAP!
I called T-Mobile and they said a file is corrupted and would need to send me a replacement.Is there anything i could do?

My current device software version is 5.0.0.321 and BB desktop software version is updated to last version. the problem is when I connect my mobile to the PC and desktop software running and I choose update my device a window come up and said there are no BB device software updates available. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a new BB9700. With desktop manager i uploaded ubertwitter, over internet installed some gmail apps (gmail, google maps). While instaling ubertwitter the forth action of install in deskop manager could not be completed, it was not moving, so I cancelled it. Everything worked fine for a while.
Then, while typing a messege into blackberry messenger the phone went totally blank (white screen,), the hard reseted itself and after initialisation, it went into begginers setup. From then, when you cancel the setup it shows in the first line BlackBerry Platform 5.1.0.90 and a list of BB apps, address book, ATTMusic, BrickBreaker, Calculator, Calendar and so forth. When you click on any of them it says: "Error starting net_rim_bb_file_explorer; module "net rim_bb_browser_lib not found." Or similar.
The only thing that works are calculator, memo, password keeper and options. With options I can access application list and delete some of them if necessary.
All the settings in options are erased to starting options.What is also interesting is that I can return phone calls after I get a missed call. The phone does not ring, it is muted, but I get a notice of a missed call and I can the return the call.Does that mean that failuire of the desktop manager to complete the forth action cause BB to completly erase everything? Does it mean I need to reactivate the phone (BES) and start from scratch?
I am using BB Bold 9700. I restored my data on my fone via BDM, since after that my device reboots automatically.
I have tried removing battery, also changed battery, i wiped the entire device also but it is still the same problem. While using anything it reboots by self.
does anyone know of a program i can download that allows me to open certain websites when is says "The page you requested could not be loaded; it is too large for this device."?

We were comparing our devices and founf that at certain area the Storm 2 signal is on 3G with the bb logo but my Bold 9700 signal shows EDGE. But when I change the option at Mobile Network to 3G only, my Bold 9700 is able to lock the signal to 3G, however when I change back Mobile Network to 3G & 2G it goes back o EDGE (not immediately though).
I am currently running OS .680.... Is there a fix to the problem above or it is a known Bold 9700 issue or a known .680 issue. I have not try this with previous OS so not sure if it will acted differently.Any opinion. Am considering downgrading the OS but will wait for feedback first.
I tried to download it, the download is denied with "unsupported device", while according to other information on the site, the device, country, provider etc. is supported. When trying other applications on the site, all the downloads are denied too. I get redirected to "download AppWorld" or to "have it emailed to yourself". Accessing this email from the blackberry finally redirects me to the "unsupported device" page again. I also tried to download it with a web browser, the site says it isn't possible. They require Internet Explorer. So I started kvm, and tried this (in violation of any security policies). There are more requirements, ActiveX, clicking popups away, and cycling through some pages a few times. Then it tells me I need an USB driver to download. But I don't download via USB, I download via the internet? When on the blackberry, I tried WLAN and EGDE, it doesn't work with any.

Sounds like lots of apps buut they are all under 1mb.
