I have a 9700 bold & updated it to os 6 recently.I have never had any problems before but since updating it, when I am browsing different sites I will get a message saying 'closing this page because its too large', and then the page just shuts down. Its seriously annoying me as I had no problems ever before the update and I have had blackberry's for nearly 3 years without issues. Also I recently had a new router installed by an IT company and my wifi will not work with it at all, although it says I have full signal.I have tried everything - the usual reboot etc - the IT guy said he spoke to someone from BB and they said it was something to do with the bb blocking the router security wise.
I have the 9700 handset with the OS 6 and on most pages i open i get the error message that the page is too large to load even though there are no other tabs opened and no other major applications open. When i had my previous phone a few weeks ago (8120) which was much older i could have opened any pages without a problem.
About 50% of the websites I try to visit won't open in the BB Browser. I keep getting the message "The page you requested could not be loaded; it is too large for the device." It won't open any Ebay page at all - ever. But even pages which should cause no problem create this message...and it happens on at least half the web pages I visit, perhaps more.
How does one minimize or eliminate this problem? It makes the BB browser completely useless. I have Opera Mini, but it's not the default browser (if there's a way to designate it as such, please tell me) so it's inconvenient to use it when I just want to open a link in an email.
Starting when I installed 22.214.171.1245, and continuing on .593, and .593 pwncakes hybrid I have this minor problem I did not used to have. On my browser's go to page, the icons for the search options are cut off or missing. See the images below. This did not happen with my stock .293, .405, or any versions I used prior to .545
Is this "normal" or is something a little off with my 9700? I don't think I've wiped it since my .545 install, just upgraded.
My phone keeps hanging up on the loading page when I turn it on. It reaches at 3/4 the line and then stops there. I have tried taking out the battery and restarting it but it does not work. I even tried to connect it to my computer but it does not read the device.
When I follow the instructions on resetting the home page of the browser to the URL of my choice, I am stuck. It says choose Options, Browser Configuration, then type a new URL in the Home Page field.Sounds easy enough. But that field is not editable. It is stuck on the first URL I ever used on the device.
Posted this in various places and have yet to receive an answer. Just got first BlackBerry, tried to view my homepage which is a myyahoo page. When I get to the SIGN IN screen, I can sometime type in the username, but it NEVER allows me to type in the PW, thus I cannot open the page.
The arrow cursor never changes to one that will allow to type in information. I called Verizon, I visited the Store, I posted on BlackBerry forums. No one at Verizon store (4) could get it to work, no responses on the forum. Is it a browser (either BB or Yahoo) problem and does anyone know of a way around it of it the new (so I hear) BB browser will fix this problem. I really want to like this phone, but if I am barred from viewing my homepage, it is going to be hard to do.
I never get GPS lock anymore on any of my GPS apps,, google, BBmaps, and like 5 other location apps.I go to my Options, Advanced Options, GPS and the page cannot open..I also noticed another problem where my Picture viewer doesn't open up pictures anymore from the thumbnail preview list. i.e when I click on a thumbnail it doesnt open full screen. It just sits there.
Oh I have 9700 Bold. TMobile USA v126.96.36.1990 (platform 188.8.131.52)
I'm having a BLAST with this phone... Next objective is to put whole DVD's onto my Bold 9700!I don't mind paying a little bit to get a good program that rips and converts into the right format, I just don't know which one is best(easiest)....Also, how big of an SD card would you need for a whole, say hour and a half, movie?
I think I have managed by trial and error along with this forum to figure out most of the Bold's features. I was wondering if there is a way to make the menu page with all the functions/applications the home page?
I woke up in the middle of the night and saw my bberry at the start up screen with the white bar. It was at the 75%. I don't recall installing any apps before i slept which would require a reboot. So, i pull out the battery and reinsert it. It was still stuck at 75%. Tried it a few times this morning and still at the start up screen. I need help ASAP!
I called T-Mobile and they said a file is corrupted and would need to send me a replacement. Is there anything i could do?
What's the latest OS for this phone? here it's 184.108.40.2061 but I found 220.127.116.113 on other forums - which one should I use?also, when I try to update through the update app - it says that I'm using the latest OS which is 18.104.22.1681
My bb device refuse to update. My current device software version is 22.214.171.1241 and BB desktop software version is updated to last version. the problem is when I connect my mobile to the PC and desktop software running and I choose update my device a window come up and said there are no BB device software updates available. I also tried to use wireless update and it was useless it doesnt work with me neither.
I have a new BB9700. With desktop manager i uploaded ubertwitter, over internet installed some gmail apps (gmail, google maps). While instaling ubertwitter the forth action of install in deskop manager could not be completed, it was not moving, so I cancelled it. Everything worked fine for a while.
Then, while typing a messege into blackberry messenger the phone went totally blank (white screen,), the hard reseted itself and after initialisation, it went into begginers setup. From then, when you cancel the setup it shows in the first line BlackBerry Platform 126.96.36.199 and a list of BB apps, address book, ATTMusic, BrickBreaker, Calculator, Calendar and so forth. When you click on any of them it says: "Error starting net_rim_bb_file_explorer; module "net rim_bb_browser_lib not found." Or similar.
The only thing that works are calculator, memo, password keeper and options. With options I can access application list and delete some of them if necessary.
All the settings in options are erased to starting options. What is also interesting is that I can return phone calls after I get a missed call. The phone does not ring, it is muted, but I get a notice of a missed call and I can the return the call.Does that mean that failuire of the desktop manager to complete the forth action cause BB to completly erase everything? Does it mean I need to reactivate the phone (BES) and start from scratch?
