Is it possible to use the charging pod for BB Bold 9700 (as shown in the Crackberry shop) with a BB Bold 9700 which has a silicone skin cover? I am not quite clear how the pod works.
I updated my Bold 9700 OS to 5.0.0.862 about 2 weeks ago. Everything was working fine up until Saturday, charging 1 minute then the next nothing, tried wall charger, car charger and also through the computer...nothing . This is the message the phone displays "The charging source connected to your Blackberry device cannot charge your battery."
The lightning icon is there but the battery level does not increase.I cant downgrade the OS since the computer doesnot recognize the device, I constantly get an error message. "Usb device has malfunctioned."
Help! I bought a BlackBerry Charging Pod for my 9700, the packaging that came with it says it is for a Tour 9630.
I plugged it in and the power light on the pod lit up but there is no indication on the 9700 that says it is charging when placed in pod and I set the clock to display when charging and that doesn't work when placed in the pod!I bought it from a place called OEM in Brooklyn.
So I have owned a Black Bold 9700 for a while now and about 2 months ago I switched to a White 9700. I would always get at least one day out of my battery in my black 9700. And I was with my white 9700 as well until about 2 weeks ago.I rarely talk on my phone but I am a heavy user with BBM, text and email and a bit with Facebook which I know uses a lot of battery... I have about 90 contacts on BBM and use it constantly everyday -- chatting with 4 to 5 ppl at a time constantly. However, I'm lucky if my battery lasts from 11am until 5pm anymore. I have tried about 3 different batteries and they all have the same issue. I just upgraded my software from .743 to .862 last night.
And I switched over to a brand new OEM battery 2 days ago. I charged my phone overnight and powered it on at 11am and now at 2:14pm I'm sitting at 75% battery life.I don't have many apps on my phone besides Facebook and Weather Eye. The only apps I ever have running everyday are the ones that have to be running constantly (BBM, Phone, Browser, Messages). I rarely even browse the internet and I don't have Bluetooth or Wi-Fi enabled. However, I am always running on 3G.
Just got my first Blackberry 9700 yesterday. First Blackberry for me. Can anyone tell me how I know if the battery is charging? When I plug it in a clock appears with the date and time.
I have a blackberry 9700, it seems to keep restarting everytime i plug my charger into it and now it just displays dead battery for hours whilst the charger is in and does not charge my phone. Also, sometimes when it doesn manage to charge, the battery indicator will be red all the time.
Did a search but didn't find anything on this...and everyone may already know this but it's new to us!My husband answered the phone while it was still on the charger and we learned that it automatically activates the speakerphone when on the pod and goes back to handset mode when you pick it up.Thought this was kind of cool and wanted to share.
maybe its just me, but when i try and charge my 9700 with a usb charger its slooooooooooowwwwwwww. like almost worthless. it would seriously take hours to get it charged.
is that just me? it doesnt matter if its plugged into a cigarette plug adapter, or right into my computer...
these are the same cords that charged my 8310 beautifully.
When I plug my phone in to the usb cable something comes up about insufficent power and making sure the correct drivers are installed. I don't wanna charge it tho I just wanna sync it and put some music on. Any ideas or trouble shooting. I tried searching on my comp but nothing similar really came up then my POS computer crashed. Thanks in adavance.
I can't seem to get by Blackberry to charge anymore. When I plug it in, it shows a battery icon with a lighting bolt through it - but it doesnt charge the phone.
I switched from a 9000 to a 9700 so I bought mini to micro adapters to use on my car charger and my USB cable so that I wouldn't have to buy a bunch of new chargers.
When I plug my USB cable into my Belkin power block or cigarette adapter it won't charge, but if I plug in my wall charger or plug the cable into my USB port on my computer, it will charge my 9700. Both the power block and the cigarette adapter will charge my iPod, so I know it isn't the power block.
Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?
Man do i need help???? i have search the last 24 hours for answers and nothing works. i tried the suggestions that i got right before posting and no answer.
just got the new 9700. i plugged it up and i am getting this message "usb charging current is not sufficient. verify that your handheld is connected to a powered usb charging source and that the proper usb driver is installed".
i have unistalled and re installed DM using the cd that came with it. i checked mass storage is on. i have done battery pulls etc. am using windows 7 and my usb is 2.0.
my old bold 9000, works fine. DM recognizes it, i can back up my stuff. i just need to restore that info on my new BB9700 and its just not happened.
Yesterday I got my first Blackberry. The Battery is still half full, but I need a USB modem tethering connection nearly every day for the next few weeks. That means I don't really have chance to run my battery dead in order to treat it right and get the best condition out of it. Is there any chance to disable the charging function in the desktop manager software, or enabling the tethering fuction over Bluetooth? Or is there no need to worry about the battery, when you charge it?
Left my phone on charge overnight, this morning it was off, it starts the loading bar and then switches off. The red Led comes on shortly when I try to charge but it never progresses past this. I have disconnected the battery but no resolve, I tried connecting to my laptop and still nothing.
When I connect through USB port to recharge, I get a message on the blackberry that says something to the effect: "The device you are connected to is not capable of charging your battery." I am able to charge by connecting directly to the 115 V AC plug but not via computer.
My blackberry bold9700 wasworking great last night. This morning i woke up, and the internet no longer works. I did not even turn off my phone last night . I gave it a charge and the net stopped working.
When i check my connection, it says i have Connection: mobile network.I know i have blackberry data on this phone. Can anyone please help me?
Once again my charging problems are back! It must be my battery because I have done a batttery pull and still its not charging properly! It shows the charging signal as tho it is charger but the battery never moves I have never seen anything like this! Looks like I'm goin to have to buy a whole new battery.
Guys i've recently switched from a Bold 9000 to the 9700 and as you know, the 9700 comes with Micro USB port so all the mini USB accessories i have don't fit anymore.i came across MANY mini-USB to micro-USB adapters, but most if not all of them state "charging adapter" also saw many threads here about people complaining how their adapter charges but doesn't sync has anyone found a mini-USB to micro-USB adapter that charges AND syncs? don't understand the limitation since both have 5 pins, i would assume a straight forward adapter should exist somewhere
Ive had my phone on the charging pod and it automatically turns on bedside mode dimming the screen but leaving it on for as long as it sits there. However, when i manually go to the clock and turn on bedside mode it dims and after the preset time i have for the display to turn off it turns off. Is there a way to always keep the screen on while in bedside mode but not on a charging pod?
The one I played with in the store yesterday didn't have prongs for a pod. Anyone else bummed that the Torch doesn't have charging prongs on it for use in a pod?
Is it harmful in anyway to leave the phone on the dock on my desk for long periods of time when fully charged even if I am not watching videos or listening to music?
My phone got some water on it and was working fine until it just randomly shut off and refuses to turn on now. I got it to start up to a grey/white screen and a battery with a charging symbol in the middle. If I can get back to the screen is there anything I can do for my phone?
I notice the charging pod has a little light that turns on when it has power.I generally tend to keep my wall charger plugged in at all times, and just plug in the phone when needed, since the plug is behind furniture.
Is there any downfall/possible damage of keeping the pod plugged in at all times, even if the phone is often not in?
I woke up in the middle of the night and saw my bberry at the start up screen with the white bar. It was at the 75%. I don't recall installing any apps before i slept which would require a reboot. So, i pull out the battery and reinsert it. It was still stuck at 75%. Tried it a few times this morning and still at the start up screen. I need help ASAP!
I called T-Mobile and they said a file is corrupted and would need to send me a replacement. Is there anything i could do?
My bb device refuse to update. My current device software version is 5.0.0.321 and BB desktop software version is updated to last version. the problem is when I connect my mobile to the PC and desktop software running and I choose update my device a window come up and said there are no BB device software updates available. I also tried to use wireless update and it was useless it doesnt work with me neither.
I have a new BB9700. With desktop manager i uploaded ubertwitter, over internet installed some gmail apps (gmail, google maps). While instaling ubertwitter the forth action of install in deskop manager could not be completed, it was not moving, so I cancelled it. Everything worked fine for a while.
Then, while typing a messege into blackberry messenger the phone went totally blank (white screen,), the hard reseted itself and after initialisation, it went into begginers setup. From then, when you cancel the setup it shows in the first line BlackBerry Platform 5.1.0.90 and a list of BB apps, address book, ATTMusic, BrickBreaker, Calculator, Calendar and so forth. When you click on any of them it says: "Error starting net_rim_bb_file_explorer; module "net rim_bb_browser_lib not found." Or similar.
The only thing that works are calculator, memo, password keeper and options. With options I can access application list and delete some of them if necessary.
All the settings in options are erased to starting options. What is also interesting is that I can return phone calls after I get a missed call. The phone does not ring, it is muted, but I get a notice of a missed call and I can the return the call.Does that mean that failuire of the desktop manager to complete the forth action cause BB to completly erase everything? Does it mean I need to reactivate the phone (BES) and start from scratch?
