Twice yesterday afternoon and once this am my 9700 power cycled / rebooted itself. This is a pain as I have berry buzz and have to reconfigure my profile as the settings are gone after a power cycle. Do I have a virus? I have Quickpull installed but not configured to automatically run. Do I need to install Quickpull? Any help would be appreciated.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a blackberry bold 9000, recently ive been having some problems with it, i did a routine battery pull while the phone was frozen, when it rebooted the arm on the loading screen went around twice then the phone rebooted again, it repeatedly does this until the phone dies, if i hook it up to the charger....same outcome, i am a poet and have months of work stored in the memos, and have about 90 numbers that werent saved on the simcard, i took the simcard out and the memory card, i have done pretty much everything i wus ever told to do as far as fixing it, i plan on buying an bold 9700 but i still must retrieve my contacts and memos can anyone give me any tips as far as fixing it, or atleast tell me how to get my memos and contacts off, thanks for your time and consideration.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have owned my Electrify for about 4 or 5 months now. I have a nice Otter box on the outside to protext the phone. Honestly never dropped. I love this phone but now during the power cycle that it does once a day, it freezes up on starting up. I have to pull the battery to get it to start back up. I haven't done a factory data reset or anything with it yet. I would like to get feedback before I waste my time and data doing so.

Is this phone dead? There is no damage to the phone, I turned it off full power down last night before I went to bed unplugged and this is what I woke up to.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got my 9700 less than a week ago, then I woke up this morning to make a phone call. After the call, my phone just turned off, and since then, it's been trying to power on. The BlackBerry screen will show, along with the loading bar, but it'll only load about 1/4 of the way, then the screen flashes white, then turns off, and does the whole thing over again. It's been going on for about 45 mins now.
I've also done the battery/sim pull.
As I was talking on my relatively new Bold 9700 it just completely died! The battery was charged but the screen and everything just went black. It will not power on. I have removed the battery and put it back in and the only response to that it the red LED light coming on for a few minutes then coming off.

HOWEVER today I had about one bar left on the battery indicator and my phone just shut off unexpectedly when I was on a phone call. I couldn't get it to turn on so I did a battery pull and it did. Then... when I turned it back on it said "Power to Low for Radio Use".I'm a newbie to the BlackBerry world so: Do our phone just shut of with no warning? Is the "Power to Low for Radio Use" a normal thing? I would think there would be some kind of low battery warning before our phone just dies.

View 6 Replies View Relatedabout a week ago my bb was dropped into a cup of tea (which had sugar and milk in) and i quickly took out the battery and stuck it in a bowl of uncooked rice for a few days. It was working about 2 days ago, except the keyboard was sticky so I turned it off and got some isopropyl alcohol cleaner and followed some instructions on how to open it all up and clean it which i did. Before i cleaned it i turned it on and the loading screen came up, only it gets to about 5 or 10 percent then restarts itself which it then proceeds to do over and over. I have looked into this problem and it seems i need to reinstall the os?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe issue I am facing is that my Bold will power up, load 2/3 of the way, then proceed to a white screen with a wiping status bar. It will then freeze around 54% (not always 54%, maybe 48%, sometimes up to 50%), reboot, and repeat.Blackberry is recognized in Loader and Desktop Manager however will fail to connect to JVM because it will repeat the wiping. It does load the software (only if I catch it with the red LED and screen off). I tried the latest desktop manager and the latest updates. I've pull the battery many many times for long periods of times.

I let it do all it needed to do whilst connected to pc blah blah blah and it now it just reboots all the time. Gets past the loading bar and then goes to the vodafone screen, then screen turns black, red light comes on, over and over and over again. However, when I plug it in to either my mains charger or the pc, it will boot up OK. Any help would be appreciated as it will soon be going out the window!! Or back to the shop.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'.
In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.
I have a BB Bold 2 (9700). The Media Card slot wont lock down the card and keeps springing it out. If i keep the card pressed down it works but wont lock down.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Outlook 2007 on my desktop computer and use BT as a service provider and for my email, my Blackberry supplier is Vodafone and I use BIS.I have noticed that if my Blackberry receives an email first I don't get the same email delivered to my desktop. If my desktop gets an email first then the same email will be delivered to my Blackberry. I was happily deleting emails from my Blackberry thinking I would have them all on my desktop but I now find I have to check what emails I have on each before I delete anything. Is this an issue that anyone has come acrosss before and how do I resolve it apart from synching the Blackberry and desktop?I'm often away from the desktop which is why I bought the Blackberry in the first place.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I updated my BBM app, and my phone got stuck in a reboot cycle, I was able to solve that problem when I installed the Desktop Manager, and all was well. However, about a week after I fixed my phone, my regular text messaging started acting up. It first started where I would have one person's entire conversation copied in my main messages. Now it's just getting worse. For instance, I texted my mom, and on my main messaging screen under today, there's are about 15 copies of the same conversation. It does this with EVERY SINGLE CONVERSATION I HAVE. Then, it starts to not even show up in my main messaging, and the only way I can receive my texts are if I go through the notifications button. It's not that my texting doesn't work, it's just that all of this is EXTREMELY annoying, and difficult to deal with.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my Blackberry and would be grateful if anyone knows what the problem is.I have only my Blackberry 9700 bold for 1 month or so.I am unable to lock my keypad by using the lock key on top of the phone. This has happened before but after charging my phone it started to work again. I have turned my phone on and off, tried charging it and the button still doesn't work. Although the keypad will lock when I put it into the leather case.Do you think it is a problem with my blackberry and I should return it? Or is this a problem people have had before and if so, how do I fix it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Bold is stuck on the boot screen (at about 75%). I've tried many battery pulls with and without the SIM and it keeps doing the same thing. I've searched what I think are all the threads on here relating to this, but I'm still stuck. I'm able to connect to the device if I run Loader.exe like a user suggested, but I don't know how/where to get software to load onto the device. All the places I've searched for an OS says I need to go into the device to find information about it. Well, I can't get into the device to do that. So, how do I know what OS to download and install? I really want to exhaust all possibilities before I have to completely wipe the device because I don't have a current backup. But, even if I wipe the device, I'm going to need to download an OS which I can't do now.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased this 9700 (3 weeks ago) and am generally very pleased with the device. BUT If I leave the BB 9700 connected overnight to the computers USB Port for charging, and, obviously, after a few hours the computer will go to sleep, thus turning off the power to the USB port In the morning I find that the BB is: Off and will not turn on, unless it is power reset. In other words I have to open up the back and pull the battery for a second then after It is put back in the red light will display nevertheless it will turn on and be fine once it boots back up. There are no other indications or problems. I notice that other people have similar complaints with their BB's.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI think its fair to say not all is well in BB Land for many Storm users. 23 months ago the Storm "revolution" began. 11 months later the Storm 2 appeared. And, now, after only 9 months, AT&T has released the Torch. Within all that time countless Android devices have surfaced, the iPhone has held its own, and many other companies have tried to take a piece of the smartphone pie, as well. There's so much temptation out there. I, like many of you, have a sweet-tooth for tech, so when I see another device release with the hype, performance, praise & sales to back it up, I no doubt feel the envy. I remind myself that my Storm2 still functions well and gets me through the day. A new device may provide some fun for a bit, but ultimately, its not going to revolutionize my day by all that much. Now, here's when I do some math.
Storm1 release day $200 something
Accessories $100
T-Mobile contract Termination Fee $200
Verizon's monthly access in advance fee $60
I don't remember on what, but prob spent more that day...
Signed up for 2-year contract...
Approximate Monthly Bill $130 x 11 = $1430
11 months later
Storm 2 purchase w/accessories $377.66
Signed another 2-year contract.
Approximate Monthly Bill $130 x 10 = $1300
So, I figure Since I signed on with Verizon in October of '08 (21 months ago) I've spent about $3700 to carry the Storm 1 and 2. I think its fair to say, at this point, the Storm 2 is soon to be Obsolete. From all indications, a "refreshed" Storm 2 with enough memory to run OS6 is all I have to look forward to this year, and if I want that for the promo price I'll have to begin another 2-year contract. And how long will it take before the next Storm device is released? See, here's my problem. These companies come out with new phones all the time. Its not just once a year anymore when we see these dazzlers appear. The 2-year contract feels like a trap at this point.
Honestly, I don't mind spending the money on technology. Its one of my favorite things in life. But, at some point, I need to be real with myself and admit that I can't be happy with any phone for half the life of a contract. It would be wise for me to let a contract expire for once and see what the market is like. It would even make more sense for Blackberry to make a phone that doesn't get left behind after 9 months, yet RIM only houses their devices with enough specs to compare with outdated technology. How much does that turn you on? How much does the new Torch commercial turn you on? Its a vicious cycle.
I am not real sure about the exact os number I am using but I do know its 5.0 something. I cant get to about screen fast enough to let you know. But anyway it is in a reboot cycle and will not stop. This worked great for 3 or 4 months then all of a sudden when I woke up this morning it is in a constant reboot. I have tried the tutorial blog on how to recover but it is not working. Anyone have a recomendation for me. or point me to another option to fix this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy 9810 has not worked since December; less than two weeks after I purchased it. The phone had a very hard tumble. Since that tumble I have the following issues:1.Phone crashes and goes into a reboothing cycle whenever Bluetooth is turned on. 2. Phone crashes when I attempt to switch from my old Blackberry to it3. The camera no longer works. Says something to the effect of not being able to open or locate viewfinder.I have been told I need a mainboard but I have not being able to locate one. I paid almost $500 for this phone. I could really use some help figuring out what could be the issue and locating replacement parts. I did not buy the phone from the network I use here in Jamaica so they are not willing to help. I am an avid BB fan but is not keen on buying another BB in light of the difficulties I have encountered trying to locate a board. Seems like there are no replacement parts available for this phone anywhere.
