BB Bold 9000 :: Phone Upgraded / Constant Reboot Cycle
Feb 17, 2010I upgraded my bold 9000 to os 5.0.0 last night and it is now in constant reboot cycle. I let it do all it needed to do whilst connected to pc blah blah blah and it now it just reboots all the time. Gets past the loading bar and then goes to the vodafone screen, then screen turns black, red light comes on, over and over and over again. However, when I plug it in to either my mains charger or the pc, it will boot up OK. Any help would be appreciated as it will soon be going out the window!! Or back to the shop.

Feb 10, 2010Twice yesterday afternoon and once this am my 9700 power cycled / rebooted itself. This is a pain as I have berry buzz and have to reconfigure my profile as the settings are gone after a power cycle. Do I have a virus? I have Quickpull installed but not configured to automatically run. Do I need to install Quickpull? Any help would be appreciated.

Trying to make the Jump to Windows 10. Installed Windows insider and started install.
All seemed ok phone was about 50% charge then went to spinning gear screen left phone on charger and let it do its magic over night.
Woke up this morning now phone is constantly showing spinning Gears then restarting and going back to spinning gears over and over.
Tried Lumia Recovery tool and no luck Also tried cooling phone while on charger . No luck......

Jan 10, 2010I upgraded UT to 0.945, and for a reason it keeps blinking when I launch it, knowing that, there are no DM or mentions/replies posts. I'm sure it is something has to do with the options and it bugs the helll of me not finding it.

Aug 26, 2010I can't seem to find this exact problem, so bear with me if I missed it. My problem is that when I did a bettery pull a couple of days ago, my 9700 went into constant reboot. I was able to correct this by connecting to DM and reloading the OS (.714). This was the same OS I was previously using. Now, when I do a BP, the progress bar goes all the way to the end and it just freezes. I have to pull the battery again, and reload the same 714 OS from DM. No help from TMO online help, so I thought I would ask here.

Apr 20, 2010I know there are multiple threads out there discussing this and I looked at most of them but this is different. My 9700 has gotten great battery life since day one, but this weekend I went out to the desert and didn't use my phone much because I only had EDGE but it was dropping in and out constantly, I had a full charge on Thursday morning and when I got home Saturday afternoon I had 20% which is pretty damn good I'm not complaining about that. When I got home I charged it fully and then on the middle of the day on Sunday my batter was almost dead. Same thing Monday and same thing today. I fully charged it yesterday afternoon and this morning it was at 25% and I hardly used my phone yesterday. SOMETHING has happened to my battery life, I'm running 5.0.0593 which hasn't ever gotten me fantastic battery life but its been okay but now its just shot.
I haven't changed anything on my BB for this to happen so I'm posting here for ideas of what could be causing this, I've looked at programs running closed everything I can and do not have WIFI or bluetooth on and Have constant good 3G reception.

Mar 5, 2010I'm not sure whether this is a 9700 problem or a problem with Orange (UK) but it seems that every time I restart my BlackBerry, be it a battery pull or a restart from removing an app, my phone loses the ability to connect to UMA ("ISP or wireless network error"). The first time this happened I rang Orange and got them to reset my service and this seemed to do the trick since shortly after my UMA connected again.After installing and then removing App World and restarting my BlackBerry, it's gone again. Obviously I can't ring Orange support at all hours of the day and every time this happens.
Has anyone else had this problem? I'm totally stumped on this one..My Bold is running OS 5.0.0.351 (The latest version on Orange)I've tried numerous battery pulls, resetting the router, wiped my handset, re-sent service books, all the usual stuff.The wifi icon is white and NOT greyed out. All other wifi features are working except UMA.

Aug 19, 2010About a week ago my bb was dropped into a cup of tea (which had sugar and milk in) and I quickly took out the battery and stuck it in a bowl of uncooked rice for a few days. It was working about 2 days ago, except the keyboard was sticky so I turned it off and got some isopropyl alcohol cleaner and followed some instructions on how to open it all up and clean it which I did.
Before I cleaned it, I turned it on and the loading screen came up, only it gets to about 5 or 10 percent then restarts itself which it then proceeds to do over and over. I have looked into this problem and it seems I need to reinstall the os, even though it wont stay on long enough to connect through usb? Is there anything else you guys think I should do? I have read somewhere to dip the whole phone into the alcohol then leave for a few days to dry?

About 2 - 3 times a day my bb 9700 screen will blank out and go completely white. I would have to do a battery pull and then my bb will restart and everything will be fine. I have wiped my phone, downgrade the software and upgrade it again. Still nothing is resolved with it blanking out 2 - 3 times a day.

May 16, 2012The issue I am facing is that my Bold will power up, load 2/3 of the way, then proceed to a white screen with a wiping status bar. It will then freeze around 54% (not always 54%, maybe 48%, sometimes up to 50%), reboot, and repeat.Blackberry is recognized in Loader and Desktop Manager however will fail to connect to JVM because it will repeat the wiping. It does load the software (only if I catch it with the red LED and screen off). I tried the latest desktop manager and the latest updates. I've pull the battery many many times for long periods of times.

Jul 13, 2010My wife just a 9650 through VZW. This morning it starting doing the constant reboot thing. I know how to fix it (since her old Curve would crash all the time), but anybody have ideas on what would cause this? She doesn't have many 3rd party apps (Quickpull, Buzzme, Google Maps), so I can't imagine it would be related to low memory. Is daily scheduled quickpull perhaps overkill on this phone? I'd like to do to avoid it crashing again, since I'm the official "phone fixer/OS reinstaller guy".

Mar 19, 2010I have a Bold 9000 with ATT. I have constant low app memory problems. It is almost always under 10MB, and alot of times it is around 1-2MB. Here is a list of apps listed on the "Switch Application" menu: BB App World, Gmail Plugin, Home Screen, Visual VM, BB Messenger, Phone, Messages, Browser. I don't think any of these are the problem. A list of my downloaded Apps are: Atlanta Braves, CBS Sports, Weatherbug, ESPN, AP News, Google Maps, Bible App, Where, CBS Radio, Scoremobile, Stitcher Radio, Facebook, and Poynt. I assume I could get rid of those. Do you think there is too much downloaded? Is there a way to get rid of some of the defaults pre loaded apps such as: MobiTV, Mobile Banking, My Cast Weather, Wikimobile? Could someone point me in the right direction here.

Nov 23, 2012i bought the 9930 6 weeks ago in the USA. on first start up ......i was Initially greeted by a constant loop of restarting which stopped after 2 days. WHy or how? who knows. The restarting has continued sporadically but in the last week it is NOT topping ....6 days later!The phone is now rendered useless. Cannot be used, cannot access any info on it. It seems there is a fundamental flaw with this model or software. In checking the web many ppl complain of this problem. Surely RIM should address this! Customers are being told that this smart phone is so superlative when they surely know that there is a problem 400USD later?

Jan 6, 2010I have had my Bold 9000 for about two months. I bought it unlocked and have been using it with T-mobile. When I first got it, i upgraded it to the latest leaked os 5.0. The thing is, I had problems with it. First it would just randomly crash and restart and crash and restart, continuously tell it just drained the battery out. Sometimes, on restarts, the standard Blackberry ringtones would not work, and sometimes they would. Sometimes when it would restart after crashing it would say, "net_app_something_ (52) isnt working and was canceled". I assumed it was a bad leak and tried several different version. (and this same occurred with each OS. I would install it on my pc, on my buddy's who has an unlocked Bold 9000 on t-mobile just like me. In the end I gave up and went back to 4.6. Yesterday i tried the new, official OS 5.0.It worked at first, but then when I install the newest BBM, it started crashing again, until the battery was gone. So now I have reinstalled it, kept the standard BBM that comes with the OS. and also deleted Quickpull. thinking it might have to do with it as well. On a last weird note. It seems only to crash in the evening. In the morning it is perfectly fine, however once it passes 4pm , the crashing beings, non if this occurs with 4.6.
Any ideas? My friend and I are both lost. Sorry for the wordy post, but it is really difficult to describe the retardedness of this situation.
BB Bold :: Constant Ringing After An Incoming Call
Jun 7, 2012I've got a bb9900 and have a plantronics Pro HD device now the headset constantly rings as though an incoming call is coming through. I can still make and receive calls but the ringing continues throughout the call. I've tried using a different headset but in vain.

Jun 13, 2010I have been reading some other posts on this board that seem to be close to my problem but nothing seems to be working. My phone was fully charged sitting in the charger all night as per norm, but when I woke up I hade a frozen white screen so I pulled the battery for over 2 min's then put it back in the red LED was constant for 15-20 seconds then off. I have tried charging it and tried putting on a new OS but as soon as I plug any USB in the phone the LED will go off and will not be recognised by my laptop nor will I get any charging LED.

Sep 10, 2010Almost everytime I go to use the browser, or an application that uses the browser (such as Poynte) I either get the error that it can't be used because the radio is off (which it is not), or that there is insufficient network coverage at this time and to try again later. Needless to say this is getting VERY old. I do had Quickpull scheduled to run everynight at 8pm. I took it in to Verizon and the woman there was extreamly unhelpful. The device itself is about 2 months old. I've searched the forums and found nothing like this.

Jan 13, 2010I got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'.
In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.

If my desktop gets an email first then the same email will be delivered to my Blackberry. I was happily deleting emails from my Blackberry thinking I would have them all on my desktop but I now find I have to check what emails I have on each before I delete anything. Is this an issue that anyone has come acrosss before and how do I resolve it apart from synching the Blackberry and desktop?I'm often away from the desktop which is why I bought the Blackberry in the first place.
