So i finally got the update yesterday and ever since i cant access my email acount from my phone from either the standerd email app that comes with the phone or an app i've downloaded from the market, both apps are telling me that either my password or username is incorrect,which is wrong cos i've tried it multiple times and even tried after resetting my password!

Using the blackberry desktop software, I just updated to:6.0 Bundle 3049 v6.0.0.706 and Platform 6.6.0.246 Once completed, I can not get my email on my account to work. I try to go into Setup but it's saying that it can't open the email setup application and to contact my wireless provider. At the moment I can only use the Wi-Fi connection and don't have access to a mobile signal.I can access the internet, twitter, and facebook, but can not get or send messages through my email account setup on the phone.

I've sent myself a simple email with a simple MS Word attachment to a regular Pop email account: the inbox list display shows a paperclip against the item, but if I open the email there is no indication of an attachment. If I long press on the email header, there's a message 'cannot view attachment'. The same email sent to Gmail shows the attachment, with a 'preview' button. If I press that the attachment appears in a viewer of some sort (the browser?).
What can I do with an attachment, beyond just viewing it?

When I tried to go to root enabled setting from settings menu of the app. the app said root access disabled and I was never able to get root access. Yesterday I updated to ICS from PC Companion and my app. was already there on my memory card. When I opened the app I was able to go to root folder and the app. haven't said that the root access is disabled. I disabled root enabled setting from settings menu of the app. but I am worrying about wheather any other app. that I install can change my root (default) files. Also my phone is in warranty and it is said that warranty will void if you root your phone. But I have updated my phone through PC Companion and just want to confirm that my warranty won't void.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just got my Xperia x10 mini pro today and so far I have noticed that my email doesn't update itself, I have to do it manually but it seems like the phone should be able to do that. I use a hotmail account on my phone and I would like to know if the email can update itself, if I have to wait for 2.1 to have this problem resolved or if it's just something that I'm missing. And sometimes the phone will say "Does not connect" when I do try to update it but it hasn't done it in the last few hours. In addition, there isn't any change in my real email account. I could read an email on my phone and still half an hour later that very same email will be considered new and unread.

I don't use BES. When I'm at home or at work and have direct access to email, I'd like to turn off my bb email client. How can I do that?
In one post I saw the recommendation Messages > Options > Email Reconciliation > Wireless Reconcile -> set of Off. Is this enough? (I have my BB set up for wi-fi connection when I'm home, in case that makes a difference.)
How do i reset or retrieve the user ID and password needed to change my email accounts on my Curve 9300. My phone went in for repair and the factory cleared everything that was stored in the phone including pasword. I have no idea what the user id and password are to set up my email accounts again.

I am still receiving them to my Virgin media account on my laptop but can't access them on my Blackberry, My network provider is Vodafone UK and I have spent literally hours (over several days) on the phone with them trying to rectify this. They have disconnected and reconnected me goodness knows how many times and as far as they can see there is no fault. The only e-mails I receive are from the Activation Server when they do this. Nothing else has come through. They have finally concluded that the fault must be on the Blackberry Server

I upgraded last week again to the new Bold 9900 and this time the email has not come across. It is still there on the blackberry pc page to edit signatures etc., and when I select the option to 'update device' I get the error message 'unable to find device'. Background -- I'm the server admin. I can access e-mail on the same server/domain from my 9700 Bold running OS 6 - I can do SSL/TLS connections to e-mail just fine.
When I look at the server-side logs when the 9810 is attempting to connect, I see that the SSL/TLS session is not getting established - hence the username/password is never being sent to the server.
The 9810 is running OS 7.1.x - is this version of the OS buggy?
I've just updated to 6.0 Bundle 2342 and when I try to access to config / email accounts / Internet Mail Account... It just loads for a second and then returns to the config menu.

All the other internet services (i.e. browser, whatsapp aso.) work without problems in 3G mode. As soon as I switch to WLAN the App Store loads and my POP3 e-mails are downloaded from the server.
This happens independent if I have a slow mobile internet connection (EDGE) or a fast one (HSPA).

Today on my iPhone I'm getting the error message "The user name and password for "apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com" is incorrect.
I've tried all the tips recommended by various well meaning folks:
1. rebooting (many times)
2. changing my yahoo password - doesn't contain any special characters
3. verifying access via a browser (used the new Chrome one!)
4. adding another choice for SMTP server (smtp.mail.yahoo.com) - a tip from 2008!
5. added my gmail account - it works fine
I'm out of ideas. This is a problem with the device communicating with Yahoo's mail servers, which are evidently functioning as expected. Is it time to visit a genius bar?? Don't really want to access email via the browser (like driving on one of those temporary spares).
