Mar 11, 2010Been using the N900 for a few weeks now, replacing one of my superb E90s. So far, sort of so good, the major differences in the user interface are causing a few issues, but I sort of expected that!Does anyone have any answers to the following please?
1. Is there some way of being notified of my emails better? I have four accounts on my Nokia Messaging account, and I have to open each one and check each inbox individually. Pain in the neck; is there an app that shows on the main menu screen what new emails are in which box?
2. Can SMS be marked read? My N900 keeps reporting that I have so many new SMSs, but I have actually read them;
3. Why do all my contacts' birthdays come up twice in the calendar? That's just annoying - it looks as though the N900 is adding a birthday automatically;
4. Is there a setting to allow the system to change from portrait to landscape and back again? My device only seems to do this on a few applications - is this normal?
5. Skype - is there a way to see which contacts are on line, other than having to wade through the contact lists? I have over 2,000 contacts and it is pretty time consuming, if I am just looking for a chat with anyone about.

Jun 27, 20129800 Torch When I set up new Email account in Setup - Email Accounts menu it doesn't apear as a shortcut on mainscreen.I have an account on mts.blackberry.com and I can see my email account there. But I can't send e-mail from my device, because "No message service configured. You will be redirected to The Setup Wizard to setup your email accont". Then the OS opening the wizard and i can see my accounts there.I have upgrated my software (with BlackBerry Desktop Software), did the Security Wipe, tryed to delete and then add my email account - nothing. I have tryed to recieve Service Books - nothing received.

BB Bold :: 9900 Receives Emails Then They Disappear
Oct 15, 2012So my boss tossed his phone at me chewing me out because it "doesn't work". I cycle the power and ask what's wrong, his phone will display that a new email has arrived it will download and it will read but once it is read the email disappears never to be found on the phone again. The message is still usable on the computer but for the phone it's 1 and done. I checked out the email options on both the computer and the phone and there's no auto archive to a pst or anything. I really don't want to reset to default because I'm sure there's "important" stuff on the phone that will lead to working over the weekend. The phone also will display missed calls (legit missed calls) but won't show who or when the call was missed.

Nov 4, 2015Galaxy 5S - have had for several months, no problems. In last week, I am finding that I cannot view attachments to emails I receive. I am using Email app that came with phone, running two accounts - one personal Hotmail account and one business account that is Outlook based and IMAP on phone. PC access to both accounts is fine - can view all attachments. Hotmail on phone - with PDF attachment, selecting "preview" gets me "Cannot display PDF (XXXX is of invalid format). Selecting "download" gets me the file downloaded, but again, I cannot open. I open attachments with Polaris and have had no problems for months. I can even open older downloaded PDFs with Polaris still. Problem is only for PDFs I've received in last week. Hotmail on phone - with Word attachment, I can get it to "open," but then document is blank.
Once again, I shouldn't need to download Adobe or some other PDF reader. Everything was absolutely FINE until 3 or 4 days ago. The issues seemed to coincide with a change to appearance and operation of Outlook on my PC, but don't know if there is correlation.
