Then the OS opening the wizard and i can see my accounts there.I have upgrated my software (with BlackBerry Desktop Software), did the Security Wipe, tryed to delete and then add my email account - nothing. Been using the N900 for a few weeks now, replacing one of my superb E90s. So far, sort of so good, the major differences in the user interface are causing a few issues, but I sort of expected that!Does anyone have any answers to the following please?
1. Is there some way of being notified of my emails better? I have four accounts on my Nokia Messaging account, and I have to open each one and check each inbox individually. Pain in the neck; is there an app that shows on the main menu screen what new emails are in which box?
2. Can SMS be marked read? My N900 keeps reporting that I have so many new SMSs, but I have actually read them;
3. Why do all my contacts' birthdays come up twice in the calendar? That's just annoying - it looks as though the N900 is adding a birthday automatically;
4. Is there a setting to allow the system to change from portrait to landscape and back again? My device only seems to do this on a few applications - is this normal?
5. Skype - is there a way to see which contacts are on line, other than having to wade through the contact lists? I have over 2,000 contacts and it is pretty time consuming, if I am just looking for a chat with anyone about.
I am looking for a thread or would like to create one that will instruct a newbie on how to clean up (or hide) those apps I don't want or use, on the main screen. Also would like to know recommendations as to best apps to have, that don't suck memory. (Maybe an app to free up wasted space?)
I previously had the blackberry bold with the old software and I was able to have saved messages as an icon on my main screen, is there any way I can do this on my new torch, I cant seem to find a way to do it?
Getting "Uncaught exception:java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException" when trying to access text from main screen icon. I can still text if I access through contacts / recent activity if I've been texting them recently. I've tried power cycling but still get the error.
I recently replaced my blackberry curve with the same one and I used to get all of my email accounts in my main message folder but now I can't get one of my emails to show up in the main message folder.
The camera app on my Z3 times out, and the camera app closes and returns me to the main screen, after 30 seconds. Sometimes that isn't long enough -- I'm waiting for a specific thing to happen that I want to photograph, like the start of a sporting event, and reopening the camera app is a pain.
i hadn't been on my phone for about 2 days and when i went on it the four main buttons (green call button,bb button, and the end call/turn on/off button) they weren't working. i can seem to figure out whats wrong, /:
I've recently updated to 5.01 and since then whenever i access my contacts and select a number the phone reverts to the main screen. Same thing applies for mail and calendar. Despite numerous restore attempts its still happening and i'm having to use 'Recents' as my contact book which pretty much limits me to an Indian take away and my mum....
The X10 is my first mobile. when I touck an "Item" (icon?) on the Application Screen it doesn't open the application, the "Item" appears on the main screen (Desktop?)how do i stop this?Also, when I go to turn the phone off the touch pad doesn't respond.
I have Nokia E52. During a call I cannot see main screen icons i.e. the screen displays "calling number" in the bottom and upper area is white due to which I cannot open contacts or use any other application shortcuts. Kindly guide me how to make use of these applications when needed during a call.
Is it possible to have something like "sms prewiev" (like in E65 model) in main screen of E6 (Next to clock, widgets etc) ?I had something like this in E65 and it was quite nice.In E6 there is only emails preview in this "way" i mean.If not, can you recommend me any widget which could provide this future
The first is in the top left in between the speaker picture and the time, it says the number 1and then a line with two small circles above it at each end, like an upside down pair of glasses.The second is on the right underneath the service bars, and is a circle with 2 lines through it, one horizontal one vertical.These symbols don't appear to be in the manual. any clue what they mean?
Just got my 9700. All in all, I like it except the UI is horrific. The majority of the screen is taken up by the green stuff which serves absolutely no purpose and to get to the screen with all the icons I need to click on the BB button. Obviously, this is subjective and maybe people like this green stuff, but can someone tell me if there is a way to bypass this and have the screen with all the icons be my default? Perhaps someone wrote a theme or something like that?
On my BB Bold 9700 the font on the phone number dial line has changed after an OS update and does not match the font used on all apps on the device. Note I am only referencing the phone number input line Originally the font was the same as all other apps including other text display in the phone mode.
I've checked other posts & not found this one described.It sits to the right of the yellow envelope showing incoming emails. It is slightly smaller than the yellow envelope, seems to be a grey envelope, with a black 'seal' and a tiny red circle on the top right corner which may have the number '1' in it - all very difficult to see.I've checked all my emails - all empty.No RIM messages either.No BlackBerry World updates.Removed battery & rebooted.
