BB Torch :: Main Keys NOT Working
Jan 24, 2012I have a Blackberry Torch 9800, and for some reason the main keys (the menu, answer, trackpad, and hangup) are not working. There is no water damage at all, and i haven't dropped it etc.

Sep 25, 2011I have had my BB Torch 9800 for about 6 months now and I really like it. It seemed to be working fine and all of a sudden about a month ago the keys would stop working. I have taken the battery out for a reset and that works for a little while, but they stop working again. The phone has not water or physical damage to it so I have no idea why it has started doing this. I called AT&T several different times and all they could tell me was to troubleshoot the software. I have done that and did all of the necessary updates.

Aug 16, 2010I am having issues with the keys not working properly on the touchscreen keyboard. When the phone is in portrait and I press on a key what shows up is the key at the left end of that row ex: if I press L an A shows up on the screen, if I press U I get a Q. If I turn the phone so that the keyboard is now on the same side as the USB port I only get whatever buttons are on the bottom of the screen. If I turn it 180 degress none of the keys work.
I have also noticed this happening in applications like Google Latitude. If I press any of the icons on the bottm of the screen the only one that registers is the zoom out key.
If I do a battery pull things work well for a bit and then it starts acting up again.
I haven't seen anyone else posting about this and I am hoping that it is just this phone. I am exchanging it tonight.

Mar 19, 2012My iPhone 4 volume keys and silent/ringer keys are not working and it doesn't ring and vibrate when i get a call or text and neither the sound working when i use any app like games etc. but when i go to settings and change the ringtone then its ringing and the sound is working when i play music but there is a problem as well the headphone dock is not working.

Jun 27, 20129800 Torch When I set up new Email account in Setup - Email Accounts menu it doesn't apear as a shortcut on mainscreen.I have an account on mts.blackberry.com and I can see my email account there. But I can't send e-mail from my device, because "No message service configured. You will be redirected to The Setup Wizard to setup your email accont". Then the OS opening the wizard and i can see my accounts there.I have upgrated my software (with BlackBerry Desktop Software), did the Security Wipe, tryed to delete and then add my email account - nothing. I have tryed to recieve Service Books - nothing received.

Jun 14, 2012I have a Blackberry Curve 8530 and The a key stopped working, it wont scorll down in the bbm app, and some of the keys are being difficult, the back button is verry finicky as well. This all just happedned at once. I have not dropped it or got it wet. why has it just stopped working randomly?

I have to type in the app I want to go to then hit enter and the track pad works for that. My camera button (right side convenience key) is not working but I am still able to hit both buttons on it (meaning the focus button and snapping-the-picture button that is within the camera button)

The phone reset itself since I could not enter the password properly without these keys. I also cannot use the number 5 which is part of our area code. I have had it looked at (fixed) twice without success. They say it needs a motherboard. Now that I got the phone back the microphone doesn't work. I can hear callers but they can barely hear me. I have 1 1/2 years left on the contract but have a useless phone now.

Sep 17, 2015Last week my phone went off because the battery was drained to 0.
Then next morning I connected the phone to my car's charger and when I turned it on, I figured that the soft keys are not working anymore.
I have tried multiple methods like clearing cache, factory reset (through Settings and Recovery), but none of that worked.
I am running the latest stock firmware (5.1.1 U2COH2).
Is there an app that allows me to reconfigure the keys? Could this be a hardware issue?

I can hear a click when I open the app, or when I switch from the front camera to the rear one - is that a normal sound? Sep 26, 2011i've had a torch 9800 since last Christmas, and it's been working fine (with the occasional battery pull, of course). but now i have a strange problem. in the last couple weeks, i've noticed that the back arrow and the red key to the right of the trackpad no longer have a light showing behind them. (nor does the trackpad, but i don't remember if it ever did light up) it's not really a problem, as they still work, but it looks really weird!i have tried a battery pull many times, to no avail. and i also tried installing a brand new os, but likewise had no success with that method. in any case, it is now running the newest os possible (6.0 bundle 1907, v6.0.0.448). it's also running 3G, if that matters.

Feb 20, 2010Greetings, blackberry 8310: some keys are not working, now normally I would think it's because it has gone through some rough punishment, but odd enough, sometimes they work. The Keys i'm talking about are the Z-C-N-M-SPACE-RIGHT SHIFT-LOWER VOLUME keys, but, when I press Z like 10 times it starts to work, so does the C, and then the N and M and SPACE, and what's even weirder is that when the keys do work, they work without any problem whatsoever, I think it's a software problem or something or an OS problem but I'm not an engineer, so I dont know.

Apr 8, 2011I have had a blackberry bold 9780 for the last year and a half and I love it. I recently did a bbm update and shortly after that certain keys worked off and on. I contacted Rogers and they advised to to update the OS so I did. This has not helped. The next call I made to them, they advised me to take it to a rogers store for repair. I did and they informed me that they do not repair out of warranty and they sent me to a kiosk in the mall to have it repaired. According to the kiosk they were not able to fix the issue, they cleaned it, replaced the membrane and still no luck. Now the buttons that worked infrequently no longer work at all. The buttons that do not work are i, o, k,l,m,$ and delete.
