Over the past two weeks I have no longer been able use the Alt + I and O to sort my messages. I've turned off/on and taken the battery out, and still do not have this capability. The alt key works with other letters/numbers, just not as the shortcut for incoming and outgoing.

But how do I now alter a shortcut key, or ADD one, so for instance the zero button opens Instant Messaging?
View 7 Replies View RelatedAnyone else notice that the e-mail list seems a little backwards? When I first started using the slide gesture, I thought that things seemed backwards. If I was reading an e-mail, and want to see the next e-mail, I slide my finger from left to right, which makes it seem like I turning a page in a book backwards to get to the next message. But what the hell, this is a new function, so I figured I'd live with it.
Today, for the first time in a long time, I had the slider open, and attempted to use 'n' and 'p' to move to next and previous messages. But these are definitely backwards from what my Bold used to do. 'n' moves "down" the list, meaning it move to the next OLDER message, not the next newer one. I'm not sure how this could be deliberate - it seems very intuitive to me that 'next' being a relative term would be measured by time. So the next e-mail should be the next later e-mail, not the next earlier one.
And if someone knows a way to change the functions, that would be great. Otherwise, do others also perceive this as backwards, or is it just me? Should I try to pursue this as a bug, and have a bug reported to RIM?
I find it very difficult to see the letters on the contact shortcut keypad - when you go to contacts > search (light-blue letters on two-tone grey background). Is there any way of changing this keypad colour scheme to something easier to see?
I'm fine with the normal qwerty keypad.
My iPhone 4 volume keys and silent/ringer keys are not working and it doesn't ring and vibrate when i get a call or text and neither the sound working when i use any app like games etc. but when i go to settings and change the ringtone then its ringing and the sound is working when i play music but there is a problem as well the headphone dock is not working.

The keys of my blackberry aren't working anymore even though the screen is working and it hasn't got wet or anything. It isn't working since a few days, and it's driving me crazy because I receive all the messages and notifications but I can't read them since I can't type my password. I took the battery off, restarted it a thousand times but nothing seems to work .
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Bold 9780 is about 1 1/2 years old. OS 6.0 bundle2921. A few letters do not work along with the menu key. The phone reset itself since I could not enter the password properly without these keys. I also cannot use the number 5 which is part of our area code. I have had it looked at (fixed) twice without success. They say it needs a motherboard. Now that I got the phone back the microphone doesn't work. I can hear callers but they can barely hear me. I have 1 1/2 years left on the contract but have a useless phone now.

I press the green/ answerr button it gives letter ‘k” I press the hang-up/red button it gives me the letter M, the track ball is not commanding, it rotates fine but once u click on it, it gives me a letter. Anyone have a solution or will i have to bury my Berry?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had a blackberry bold 9780 for the last year and a half and I love it. I recently did a bbm update and shortly after that certain keys worked off and on. I contacted Rogers and they advised to to update the OS so I did. This has not helped. The next call I made to them, they advised me to take it to a rogers store for repair. I did and they informed me that they do not repair out of warranty and they sent me to a kiosk in the mall to have it repaired. According to the kiosk they were not able to fix the issue, they cleaned it, replaced the membrane and still no luck. Now the buttons that worked infrequently no longer work at all. The buttons that do not work are i, o, k,l,m,$ and delete.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had my bb 9700 for 2 days and im not super satisfied with it as i thought i would be. first problem is I can not hold down the alt key and type other special characters continously. I have to press the alt key , let go , then click the other key which is really annoying. I talked to a rogers rep online and they helped me reboot my phone software and it still has this problem he said i might need a replacement which I dont want because of the inconvenience.
And the keyboard in general is really hard to type on. Compared to the curve 8900, it is so much easier to type on that. the keyboard on the 9700 feels alot stiffer and most of the time when I try to type at a fast speed it doesnt get all the letters i type even though i know i clicked it. once i turn off my 9700, I cant turn it back on. the only way to turn it on is the remove the battery and put it back in. I searched on google and it seems like a few other people are also having these problems but theres no solution.
Just noticed this morning that keys "RT FG CV" stopped working. The rest of the keypad is functional as well as the touchscreen. I even tried removing the battery... nothing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Bold 9700 has suddenly developed a glitch and being a newbie,When holding the Alt or Shift keys, no other keys work i.e. Holding Alt + R does not give 3 as expected . If I press Alt or Shift, release and then press the desired key (for numbers/symbols), then it works fine. This has not been a problem since I got my 9700 in February and holding down Alt/Shift has worked since day 1.
I am running OS v5.0.0.421 I have tried several battery pulls to no effect.I am guessing that I should back up my data, wipe the device and clean install the current OS.
This morning, out of no where my blackberry started to act strange. if i push on the end button (the red one) it calls some one or if i push on the letter m, it starts typing m like a million times and now it has locked it self and i can't put in my password because the keys don't work.. what can i do? i took the battery out and left it resting for a few but if i can't put in my password how can i get to the phone and try to fix it?
View 4 Replies View Relatedam currently looking at buying a XPRT and making the switch from BB.I am currently a BB Curve user on the Sprint network. I tried a non-BB phone and got the Android Samsung Intercept about a year ago and HATED it. After a month or two of using it, it became obvious to me that 1- I needed a physical keypad (without sliding) like the BB model. 2- I hated the dialing on the touchscreen phone. Most notably I missed the "quick dial shortcut" feature on the BBWhen I see screen shots of the XPRT, it doesn't look like you can dial on the keypad (albeit small, BB has the 1-9 keypad on the left side of the QWERTY board). Not a huge thing if not.
But what is huge is having the ability to assign "shortcuts" to the keypad for dialing. In other words, for example, can I press and hold the "D" key on the keypad and it calls whoever I assign to the "D" key?If the phone itself doesn't offer this function, is there an App for it?
I just got my new Nokia E72, happy with it overall, just a couple of niggles (apart from the build quality), which I'd like to check with more owners of this phone. When I press the EMail shortcut key, on the top right side of the keypad, this shortcut doesn't open the general EMail "folder" where I can see my GMail, Yahoo!, and Hotmail email accounts, instead it opens my Yahoo! email account directly, and I have to go back to the general "folder" to see my other email accounts.
I've tried playing with all the different options, but so far cannot make it work as I think it should be, which would be to go to the main EMail "folder", so I can choose which EMail account I want to open/synchronise, and not just opening the first EMail account I set up. Also, is not downloading the "Sent Items" folder, even though I chose "All" in What to download.

Last week my phone went off because the battery was drained to 0.
Then next morning I connected the phone to my car's charger and when I turned it on, I figured that the soft keys are not working anymore.
I have tried multiple methods like clearing cache, factory reset (through Settings and Recovery), but none of that worked.
I am running the latest stock firmware (5.1.1 U2COH2).
Is there an app that allows me to reconfigure the keys? Could this be a hardware issue?
One of the very handy features on my E63 was the ability to begin entering a contact name when at the standby screen, and a list of matching choices would pop up as I entered the letters. I could then select from the list using the D-pad and make a call, send a message, etc.That function seems to have stopped working, and I can't tell the reason why. Unless I didn't notice the elimination of the feature months ago when I installed the latest firmware (don't think that's the case here), this doesn't appear to be the result of a firmware update, new software install, etc.Any suggestions out there, shy of the royal pain of doing a reset and having to reinstall software and reconfigure/recustomize my phone?
