Nokia :: E72 EMail Shortcut Key Not Working?

I just got my new Nokia E72, happy with it overall, just a couple of niggles (apart from the build quality), which I'd like to check with more owners of this phone. When I press the EMail shortcut key, on the top right side of the keypad, this shortcut doesn't open the general EMail "folder" where I can see my GMail, Yahoo!, and Hotmail email accounts, instead it opens my Yahoo! email account directly, and I have to go back to the general "folder" to see my other email accounts.
I've tried playing with all the different options, but so far cannot make it work as I think it should be, which would be to go to the main EMail "folder", so I can choose which EMail account I want to open/synchronise, and not just opening the first EMail account I set up. Also, is not downloading the "Sent Items" folder, even though I chose "All" in What to download.

One of the very handy features on my E63 was the ability to begin entering a contact name when at the standby screen, and a list of matching choices would pop up as I entered the letters. I could then select from the list using the D-pad and make a call, send a message, etc.That function seems to have stopped working, and I can't tell the reason why. Unless I didn't notice the elimination of the feature months ago when I installed the latest firmware (don't think that's the case here), this doesn't appear to be the result of a firmware update, new software install, etc.Any suggestions out there, shy of the royal pain of doing a reset and having to reinstall software and reconfigure/recustomize my phone? The shortcut widget for having shortcuts for apps in the symbian 3 or symbian Anna platform is made for having four shortcuts and nothing less. If at all, one doesn't assign a shortcut to it, still there's an icon that is shown as default when nothing is assigned.Here's what you do...1. Download the app called vacuum.sis from the web. Try this link...www.mediafire.com/?a01dw4w4azasjmn2. Install the app anywhere in your phone, phone memory, mass memory or memory card.3. Now go to homescreen and press and hold to go into edit mode.4. Tap the desired location for adding the shortcut bar and select it from the list of widgets available.5. Once the shortcut bar is added, tap it and go into the settings for adding the shortcuts to it.6. Now if you want to add only one app in the shortcut bar, select the desired location from one to four and add the app. In the rest of the locations, add the vacuum app.7.
Now close the shortcut and return to home screen. You should see only one shortcut in the shortcut bar. This way you can place any one app at any location on the grid with app.What's actually vacuum app? Its a dummy app which when installed, results in an app which doesn't do anything on installation and has a transparent icon. So an unknowing tap on the shortcut also will do nothing. Tada! You've a shortcut bar with just one app... Its customizable between one and four apps. This has been tested and works in my Nokia C7 with Anna. So should work in other symbian

Over the past two weeks I have no longer been able use the Alt + I and O to sort my messages. I've turned off/on and taken the battery out, and still do not have this capability. The alt key works with other letters/numbers, just not as the shortcut for incoming and outgoing.

Anyone else notice that the e-mail list seems a little backwards? When I first started using the slide gesture, I thought that things seemed backwards. If I was reading an e-mail, and want to see the next e-mail, I slide my finger from left to right, which makes it seem like I turning a page in a book backwards to get to the next message. But what the hell, this is a new function, so I figured I'd live with it.
Today, for the first time in a long time, I had the slider open, and attempted to use 'n' and 'p' to move to next and previous messages. But these are definitely backwards from what my Bold used to do. 'n' moves "down" the list, meaning it move to the next OLDER message, not the next newer one. I'm not sure how this could be deliberate - it seems very intuitive to me that 'next' being a relative term would be measured by time. So the next e-mail should be the next later e-mail, not the next earlier one.
And if someone knows a way to change the functions, that would be great. Otherwise, do others also perceive this as backwards, or is it just me? Should I try to pursue this as a bug, and have a bug reported to RIM?

I have an active email which I deleted and then re-activated, I do receive mails but can't seem to find the email shortcurt icon anywhere so than means I can only resd messages when they come in I can't send any mail because I can't access my email, shortcurt icon is missing.

I currently have a Motorola Admiral synced with our work's Microsoft Exchange server. In our Outlook email account we have certain emails redirected into subfolders in our incoming email. For example we have an inbox and under the inbox is a subfolder where all 'delivery ticket' emails are redirected into. On the Admirals there is an icon alert and also an audio alert every time there is an incoming message in our email account. However the only time we get the subfolder emails is by going into the email folder, clicking on the inbox then the subfolder and letting it refresh that way. I looked through EVERYWHERE trying to see if I could set it to automatically refresh. Also is there a reason I don't get any type of alert when an emails comes into that subfolder? I even tried adding a shortcut directly onto one of the main screens only for this subfolder but I can't do it. I can only add a shortcut for the main inbox.

i am encountrying a problem regarding my nokia e5 , i've just bought it recently and still left with 8 months warranty. The problem i am facing is, the message shortcut key which is on the keypad of this Phone, is not working properly. When i do long press to open new text msg, it sometimes doesnt opens any thing and sometimes even open messaging and then close it. At a certain angle i have to apply a little more force in order to operate it properly. wheather its a hardware problem or any sort of dust particles have emerged inside the keypad resulting in loose contact of the button and the motherboard.

I upgraded my 9500's OS to 5.0.0.425 post which I haven't been able to bring up the keyboard by swiping my finger from the bottom of the screen to the middle. However when I try to swipe it down, the keyboard does disappear. Is this a common problem with the 5.0.0.425 or is it just me who is unlucky?

I have E63 and I have been using Nokia Email on my phone a few months now without any problems. (Have been using Gmail and Ovi mail) However last two weeks it somehow stopped working properly.
1. I can still send emails properly.
2. "Sent" folders sync without problems. Also, for example if I send an email from Ovi website from PC, I can see my message in the Sent folder.
3. Mysterious empty "Inbox" although I haven't deleted messages. They just disappeared. And no new messages come in. I tested a few times by sending emails from PC but nothing.

i have many issues with the phone that i'm hoping someone can address.
#1: i can't get the facebook app!!! i downloaded it once, had to uninstall it, and now i can't re download the app. i contacted nokia and they didn't do anything about, yet they got my email. i tried completely resetting the phone, making a new ovi account, trying to download it on the pc, and nothing works. can someone please send the app to ? thank you
#2: is there a Internet app that doesn't **bleep**? i've tried watching videos over Internet a few different ways, and no matter what, the quality is always awful, even over wifi.
#3: the email app doesn't work. i click on it, and it just crashes right away. i've tried taking the battery out, resetting the phone, and nothing fixes it. what should i do

At first I set up my email just like I had it on my E71. I have 3 accounts on nokia messaging. It worked for about 3 weeks, until one day I just stopped recieving emails. The mailboxes would no connect. When I open the mail box, the circle in the right hand corner, is always Red, used to be green, but now its red.
So I try to connect manually, I go to options and click connect. But it won't connect, I try to synchronize by clicking send and receive but nothing, its simply won't connect to the mail box. I think it might have something to do with the access point. This new E72 is really frustrating me. I miss my E71's simplicity and reliability. Anyone know how I can fix my email problem? This is useless to me without push email.

Is there any link on help for bottom short cut bar for xterm? What is the first key that is pointer arrow mark? I also tried set -o vi and tried to use j, k to move up and down and it did not work. I never worked with this shell though.

I want a shortcut that takes me to my SMS inbox directly. Currently I have one for the messaging application, but that requires me to click "down" (to select Inbox) and then "open".I've searched around a bit and it doesn't seem possible - you can only define shortcuts for applications. But wouldn't it be possible to make an app that opens the inbox and point a shortcut to it? If such an application for S60 exists, I would appreciate if someone could link to it.Yeah, I know it's just two extra clicks the current way, but it's these kind of small things I find annoying with my new Nokia phone (a 6730 classic) - "with so many options, why can't I configure something this basic?". Well, hopefully someone has a good solution, and if not, I guess I can live with it.

1. Absence of Screen saver option
2. Absence of group image in contact group
3.Absence of document viewer (even though we are installed third party apps it is not working as inbuilt apps)

I have am x6, and in the main am happy with it. However as previous owner of 3 diff n series, there are a couple of usability issues that drive me up the wall! For instance, i came to rely on the 'menu plus c' shortcut to quickly close apps. But no matter where i look, i haven't found a similar shortcut on the x6. Which means closing apps can only be done by going back in and doing it manually from within the app. Annoying and slow Is it me, or has that kind of shortcut been removed? Can anyone help? I have not long got a Nokia 5800, when I first got it the was a shortcut bar along the top which has now disappeared and also the keypad & contacts are highlighted at bottom of screen but when pressed nothing happens but did work when first got it. Any ideas why

This may sound petty but virgin has hijacked my right shortcut key so in the phone settings under shortcuts only the left shortcut key is displayed and not the right shortcut key. and on the display just above the right shortcut key is virgin. pressing the right shortcut key takes me to a virgin media site . how can i free up the key to put a preferred shortcut in or is it hardwired at the factory??

I have just started to see this problem, it has worked ok since I had the phone. Basically I am unable to add any shortcut to the Orange homescreen, I understand you can only have 4 and have removed all existing shortcuts to make sure, I can drag applications onto the homescreen but when i tap on the 'add shortcut' icon nothing happens, I have tried a soft reset & this did not work either, I am reluctant to do a hard reset because I don't want to have to re-install/configure everything again.
