I have had a blackberry bold 9780 for the last year and a half and I love it. I recently did a bbm update and shortly after that certain keys worked off and on. I contacted Rogers and they advised to to update the OS so I did. This has not helped. The next call I made to them, they advised me to take it to a rogers store for repair. I did and they informed me that they do not repair out of warranty and they sent me to a kiosk in the mall to have it repaired. According to the kiosk they were not able to fix the issue, they cleaned it, replaced the membrane and still no luck. Now the buttons that worked infrequently no longer work at all. The buttons that do not work are i, o, k,l,m,$ and delete.
Just noticed this morning that keys "RT FG CV" stopped working. The rest of the keypad is functional as well as the touchscreen. I even tried removing the battery... nothing.
I have a bold 9780 Recently my trackpad has been playing up(not repsonding to my touch) and when it does respond it flys everywhere uncontrollably and the centre bit doesnt work either. i have taken battery out several times. i have also tried updating and restoring to original factory settings. I have backed up etc. This still hasnt worked. has anyone else had these problems.
My BOLD 9780 stopped working and has a white screen. I tried he battery thing and also tried reentering the 6.0 opsys with the desktop Software. Phone shuts off ok and side buttons seem o work but no phone answering capabilities. Standard APS and all I use the phone for are phone calls and a few texts.
I've always had this issue of alphabets/numbers repeating when I type with my keypad.This is extremely frustrating, and i even showed it to the service center, they said they wanted 10 days to repair it (without a replacement).
I am pretty sure I am not the only one with this problem, and that the problem has been reported right here on these forums before.
Is there any fix? I have both a e71 and a e72 (the e71 LCD screen stopped working, I ordered a LCD replacement and am yet to try it out). Is there anyway I can take the e72's innards and put it in the exterior of the e71?
Why does this happen? My firmware is updated (Ovi Suite says mine is the latest), I have tried soft rebooting, hard rebooting, factory reset, hard reset, whatever possible "standard" solutions. Is there any real solution at all? It's kind of annoying especially for fast typers!
I have had my BB Torch 9800 for about 6 months now and I really like it. It seemed to be working fine and all of a sudden about a month ago the keys would stop working. I have taken the battery out for a reset and that works for a little while, but they stop working again. The phone has not water or physical damage to it so I have no idea why it has started doing this. I called AT&T several different times and all they could tell me was to troubleshoot the software. I have done that and did all of the necessary updates.
Red Hard key Won't power off, won't end a call and on the BB logo hard key no menu will open. It's like they click but actuate nothing? keys 2 and 4 of the bottom row if I've lost anyone.How can I 'fix' these keys. Worked great this am. did several battery pulls.Phone is in an OEM holster 24/7
My iPhone 4 volume keys and silent/ringer keys are not working and it doesn't ring and vibrate when i get a call or text and neither the sound working when i use any app like games etc. but when i go to settings and change the ringtone then its ringing and the sound is working when i play music but there is a problem as well the headphone dock is not working.
The keys of my blackberry aren't working anymore even though the screen is working and it hasn't got wet or anything. It isn't working since a few days, and it's driving me crazy because I receive all the messages and notifications but I can't read them since I can't type my password. I took the battery off, restarted it a thousand times but nothing seems to work .
My Bold 9780 is about 1 1/2 years old. OS 6.0 bundle2921. A few letters do not work along with the menu key. The phone reset itself since I could not enter the password properly without these keys. I also cannot use the number 5 which is part of our area code. I have had it looked at (fixed) twice without success. They say it needs a motherboard. Now that I got the phone back the microphone doesn't work. I can hear callers but they can barely hear me. I have 1 1/2 years left on the contract but have a useless phone now.
Over the past two weeks I have no longer been able use the Alt + I and O to sort my messages. I've turned off/on and taken the battery out, and still do not have this capability. The alt key works with other letters/numbers, just not as the shortcut for incoming and outgoing.
My blackberry buttons are taking the wrong commands. I press the green/ answerr button it gives letter ‘k” I press the hang-up/red button it gives me the letter M, the track ball is not commanding, it rotates fine but once u click on it, it gives me a letter. Anyone have a solution or will i have to bury my Berry?
not sure if there is a way of 'cleaning' the key pad on my 9900??When texting it is increasingly becoming a pain, especially the c and b buttons...they just don't seem to work everytime?
I had my bb 9700 for 2 days and im not super satisfied with it as i thought i would be. first problem is I can not hold down the alt key and type other special characters continously. I have to press the alt key , let go , then click the other key which is really annoying. I talked to a rogers rep online and they helped me reboot my phone software and it still has this problem he said i might need a replacement which I dont want because of the inconvenience.
And the keyboard in general is really hard to type on. Compared to the curve 8900, it is so much easier to type on that. the keyboard on the 9700 feels alot stiffer and most of the time when I try to type at a fast speed it doesnt get all the letters i type even though i know i clicked it. once i turn off my 9700, I cant turn it back on. the only way to turn it on is the remove the battery and put it back in. I searched on google and it seems like a few other people are also having these problems but theres no solution.
My Bold 9700 has suddenly developed a glitch and being a newbie,When holding the Alt or Shift keys, no other keys work i.e. Holding Alt + R does not give 3 as expected . If I press Alt or Shift, release and then press the desired key (for numbers/symbols), then it works fine. This has not been a problem since I got my 9700 in February and holding down Alt/Shift has worked since day 1.
I am running OS v5.0.0.421 I have tried several battery pulls to no effect.I am guessing that I should back up my data, wipe the device and clean install the current OS.
This morning, out of no where my blackberry started to act strange. if i push on the end button (the red one) it calls some one or if i push on the letter m, it starts typing m like a million times and now it has locked it self and i can't put in my password because the keys don't work.. what can i do? i took the battery out and left it resting for a few but if i can't put in my password how can i get to the phone and try to fix it?
I'm using a Bold 9780. However I'm having an issue with my GPS, it is not working with applications like SportyPal or Runtastic. I'm not receiving a GPS signal in both of these applications. (These applications use GPS signal to track your sports performance). Blackberry / Google maps do work without issues. Also refreshing GPS in the options menu works without an issue. My carrier is Proximus (Belgium), and my OS version : v6.0.0.294. Battery pull didn't work. Have been using these apps on Blackberry Bold 9700 (os 5.0) before, worked perfect.
My Camera on BB Bold 9780 is not working. When I open Camera Application, the cursor skips over the Photo Taking Icon. The photo taking Icon is not highlighted as like other icons (Photo Library, Flash and Type of Pic).

I bought an unlocked blackberry 9780 a week ago for my son from a local store near my house. Yesterday, when I gave the phone to my son on his birthday, it turned on and everything went alright. He was so happy with it until he discovered that the Call Button (the green one) does not work. We tried turning the phone on and off several times, but it still did not work. I took the phone back to the store and he told me the phone had a defect, but he did not have any more 9780 to replace mines.So he told me to contact the Blackberry Company for a replacement.

I have had my BB 9780 for years, when going abroad I use to receive emails and using BBM by WIFI only and this has for years been working without any problems.For some reason this year when going abroad it doesn't work anymore, I have tried several WIFI networks (some even same as I use to be able to use before)I have 2 email addresses, a Hotmail and a company email address.I have no problem using my browser, going to various web-pages - only emails and BBM service is dead ....?I have checked for software updates, and do now have software version 6.0 bundle 2534.
For the past week or so when i try and check in on facebook places on my blackberry bold 9780 its not been working, its always worked perfect until i tried about a week or so ago, and since then ive tried nearly everyday just to see if its working but no nothing, keeps coming up with facebook error 2002 try again later. It works fine, finds my location, asks me if i want to check in, i click on check in and thats when the error message comes up, so doesnt let me finally check in. I dont know if its since ive updated to the new facebook app, i dont always use places, just now and again ,but always has worked great, until when i tried a week ago, it wouldnt let me and hasnt since. Ive got my location settings ON on options and ive refreshed GPS ,tried it with wireless on and wireless off, in many different locations, reboot phone etc but nope still the same.
im having a problem with the blod 9780, its my second blackberry bold first of all I thought its the cellphone problem then i sell it and i got new blod 9780 also its a having the same crazy thing saying (service not enabled for this handheld.) the msn, Google talk are working and other messengers but yahoo is killing me i don't know whats the wrong with it..
got bb bold9780 i tried to use wi-fi , all my tries failed ,,,,i get connected but always not working ,,,i have my own router , home network , i tried to enter pin and register the device to my wirless router , it didnot work out
