View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my BB 9780 for years, when going abroad I use to receive emails and using BBM by WIFI only and this has for years been working without any problems.For some reason this year when going abroad it doesn't work anymore, I have tried several WIFI networks (some even same as I use to be able to use before)I have 2 email addresses, a Hotmail and a company email address.I have no problem using my browser, going to various web-pages - only emails and BBM service is dead ....?I have checked for software updates, and do now have software version 6.0 bundle 2534.

i don't understand and it's quite annoying why it won't work as it did before. i've even spoken to orange and sky to try and solve this problem and still nothing.
whenever i browse the web on my blackberry via the browser through wif the pages never load. it's actually quicker to disconnect from wifi and use 3g then wifi. my blackberry was working fine before why has it stopped working. this has to be fixed as it's a pain!
i've tested other wifi spots and i have the same problem so i know it's not my router. i removed the security on my router but still no luck. i've done a master reset on my blackberry and still the wifi will not work. i've even had the handset replaced and still the wifi will not work!
the blackberry connects fine to the router and its shows as connected to the router but it just refuses to load pages when wifi is on. it gives me an error message:
"unable to find the requested server"when wifi is on and i try to browse the double headed arrow icon in the top right should be on when using the wifi, but it hardly appears at all when the pages attempt to load it should be on constantly when loading pages through wifi.
i can't even see Internet videos it keeps buffering the gives me the same error message as above.

The connection seems OK, the phone gets IP address but it can only ping the router! Any other ping returns "destination unreachable" error. And the really puzzling thing is that this problem does not exist on unprotected wifi networks. Eh. I have checked on several protected wifi nets, none worked, so the problem must be with the phone itself. So far I have tried the Wifi fixer app, but it could not fix this for me. I have wifi syncing issue. I used to connect with my two computers, one is my home PC (win7 64bit), the other is my office Macbook Pro (Lion). My iphone's itunes library is on my home PC, I have checked "Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi" on itunes options. In general, wifi syncing is working if iphone connected to my home PC only with USB.
At office, I used itunes on my macbook pro to listen iphone's music. So, I connected iphone to macbook pro with USB, then loaded my iPhone's music. (not push sync button). At home, I plugged my iphone into charger generally, then turning on itunes that couldn't find my iphone 3GS for wifi syncing. For resolving the issue, I need to sync with USB once, then it would work again, but it's so annoying.

Recently, we have changed our intertnet providers. Before hand we had AT&T, and when I was connected to wifi via phone it would work perfectly. Now though we have Cox for internet service. My laptop and other devices that connect to the WIFI are getting on the internet just fine. This problem just started this morning. I re-booted my router at home but that did not work. I eliminated my home network and then re-connected to it, but that did not work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy 9700 achieves a steady 6+ mb and my new 9780 unbranded (RIM) struggles to achieve 2mb. I have tried router channel changes and WPA - WEP and removing all security. The results remain the same.
I have been to other wifi locations with both phone's and test results are the same with the 9780 always being slower.
So after connecting to my wifi, (which I have been able to do forever) it gives me the wifi signal strength up in the top left corner, signal strength is good, but internet does nothing.

I've got my S2 now for maybe 2 weeks now and only now I noticed that my Wifi hotspot function is not working. I tried that with 2 different SIM's (in different countries) with the same result. Tethering via USB works fine. I can switch on the wifi hotspot (open or secured) and I can even connect to it. On my Win7 machine I have a connection for a few moments, after that I lose connection and at the end I lose connection to the wifi hotspot.
On my blackberry I can connect the first time. That connection stays open for maybe a minute. After that it automatically disconnects and I cant connect anymore until i restart the hotspot. When I switch off the hotspot it takes a long time and it ends with error (the status under wifi hotspot). If I just enable hotspot and disable it again it is without errors. So this seems only to happen when a client actually connects... I tried already a factory reset and read somewhere to enable bluetooth before enabling the hotspot, but the problem stays the same ...
I have BB9780 (v6.0.0.285) when Im connected to wifi whether at home any where else it keeps disconnecting every minute or two even though its not in standby mode. I cannot download larger files or watch video stream most of the time because wifi connection dropping from my device, and if I download through carrier it will cost me a lot. View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Bold 9780. However I'm having an issue with my GPS, it is not working with applications like SportyPal or Runtastic. I'm not receiving a GPS signal in both of these applications. (These applications use GPS signal to track your sports performance). Blackberry / Google maps do work without issues. Also refreshing GPS in the options menu works without an issue. My carrier is Proximus (Belgium), and my OS version : v6.0.0.294. Battery pull didn't work. Have been using these apps on Blackberry Bold 9700 (os 5.0) before, worked perfect.
