Dec 15, 2014I am having a strange issue when using both Bluetooth and Wifi simultaneously.
This happens pretty regularly when using the Spotify app whilst having the phone audio connected to a Bluetooth speaker. The pairing process works without issue. However, as soon as I begin searching the app for music, and select a track for playing, the WiFi connection drops. Sometimes It eventually reconnects, other times I have to go back to settings and manually select the network once again.
During the connection drop, I can still see the Wifi network and all my other devices still remain connected. Rebooting the doesnt fix it, nor does disabling/enabling the wifi. Its rendering the phone useless for music streaming!

It's hard to get a connection with a 802.1x EAP wifi. Even if I managed to get connected, the wifi is very unstable and will disconnect now and then!
I have tried reinstall by using update service and PC companion but the problem still exist. Is it a software or hardware issue?

Aug 31, 2011I'm a prepaid user situated in dbn. Got my 9780 in aug lastyear. In april bis signal keeps dropping repeatedly and takes forever to come back on. Customer care fixes it until I get an app update and the phone has to reboot, it goes haywire again. Startin to annoy me, as I'm txtn ryt nw the bis signal has dropped.

Mar 9, 2010I'm on Tmobile's network and since I've had this bold which I bought the 1st week it was released has been dropping almost 3-4 calls a day. I've talked to tmobile's reps over 10 times now and we have reloaded all my software and am ready to give up on BB. This is my first BB, switched from iphone and I had never dropped 1 call on that phone.
Tmobile is suggesting that I trade in my phone, but the problem is I'm sure they will send me a refurb which I definitely do not want since I paid full price $485 for a new phone.

Feb 10, 2010Is anyone else having problems with dropped calls when switching from UMA to 3G? Where I work I do not have a signal in the building, so I keep my WIFI on so I can both make and receive phone calls while inside.
The problem occurs when I'm on the phone and step outside. I lose my connection with the router, and instead of switching from UMA to 3G, my call is dropped, and it takes my phone about 10 seconds to find the 3G signal.I was hopping that upgrading the .442 would solve the problem, but it has not
BB Bold 9700 :: Server Dropping Calls - Tmobile
Jan 29, 2010It's only been 1 month & I'm already on my 2nd Blackberry 9700 with Tmobile. I'm running v5.0.0.330. Since day one, I've experienced severe dropped calls that I've never experienced with Tmobile. Severe to the point that I can be on a 30 minute conversation & the call will drop at least twice. I was once on an hour long conversation that kept getting interrupted by 5 dropped calls.
Add to that, there's another Tmobile user in my household who uses the Google phone & no dropped calls at all, which tells me that it's not my coverage area that's causing the dropped calls.I'm also getting dropped calls when I'm speaking to different callers using different carriers & not just those with a specific service provider.
So, I'm convinced that it's the BB 9700 problem. It may even be that this 3G phone is in conflict with the stystems or non-3G users. Nevertheless, I'm so fed up and wanted to know if this is a problem that other BB 9700 users are experiencing. If so, who's your carrier? Has anyone upgraded your OS and if so, has it fixed the issue or have you experienced problems after the upgrade?
BB Bold :: My WiFi Keeps Dropping
Dec 18, 2011I have a Bold 9900 and my carrier is Rogers. The phone is about 6 months old. I use wifi and don't have a data plan, but my wifi keeps dropping. It is notjust at my house, but anywhere I access a wifi signal. It will drop the signal, pick it up again and continue to drop it. I have tried doing a battery pull but that did not work. My wife's BB Curve is having no problems, nor is my Playbook.

Sep 25, 2014I have just upgraded from a galaxy S4 to S5 and I'm having big problems with receiving calls and SMS when I am connected to my home WIFI connection.
Only when I turn off wifi on my phone I start receiving the backlog of SMS messages.
Some times I can receive calls when connected to wifi but the SMS messages don't come through until I disconnect.
My wife has also just upgraded from a s4 to s5 but hers appears to be ok.
I have noticed that in more networks/mobile networks/network mode, my wife's gives options of 3G, 4g etc but mine says LTE/WCDMA/gsm which I though was strange as we are both on virgin mobile. I don't think this is the issue though as it's a wifi issue.

Jul 8, 2014I received a new Samsung S5 4 days ago and hadn't noticed until now that incoming calls weren't getting through, when I tried calling my mobile from a different number it was saying that the phone wasn't connected. Fix - re-seat the sim card - Worked for about 2 minutes and was successfully receiving incoming calls, then I noticed that every call I made to the mobile went to the answer machine so called Virgin mobile back. Fix - Go into settings and remove reference to LTE as follows (I am on a 3G contract)

. Select WCDMA/GSM (auto connect) – The default is 'LTE/WCDMA/GSM' and as I don't have LTE was told to switch this off
This fix worked for another 2 minutes, and then I noticed that every incoming call went to the answer machine, so I called back...
Fix - Turn off wifi
Incoming calls work fine now, and every time I turn on wifi they go to answer machine. It appears to be a little intermittent, but I can reproduce the issue fairly consistently when turning the wifi (in the settings) on and off.

First time was within 3 months of the purchase. The screen went to a complete blank white, it wasnt an app error or anything. the phone worked fine, made and received calls, etc, but i just couldnt see what is on the screen. i payed to have the screen replaced and it only lasted another 8 months. Instead of fixing the screen again, i started to use a different 9780 that a friend of mine lent me. Its still fairly new and was working well until this past friday when i started to have the same exact screen issues again.
