Xperia Z3 :: Distorted Voice Calls When Connected To WiFi
Oct 14, 2014
I purchased an Xperia Z3, love the device but experiencing a MAJOR issue with voice calls being distorted when connected to WIFI. The person on the other side of the call can hear me fine but the line on my side of the call is all distorted and garbled. If I switch off WIFI or disconnect from WIFI then the voice calls work perfectly fine. The issue only occurs when I'm connected to WiFi. There seems to be multiple reports of this issue on Whirlpool forums and mainly for Optus customers. My partner's Xperia Z3c is also having the same issue. I returned one Z3 due to this issue and was given a replacement but the issue still persists on the replacement...
I have just upgraded from a galaxy S4 to S5 and I'm having big problems with receiving calls and SMS when I am connected to my home WIFI connection.
Only when I turn off wifi on my phone I start receiving the backlog of SMS messages.
Some times I can receive calls when connected to wifi but the SMS messages don't come through until I disconnect.
My wife has also just upgraded from a s4 to s5 but hers appears to be ok.
I have noticed that in more networks/mobile networks/network mode, my wife's gives options of 3G, 4g etc but mine says LTE/WCDMA/gsm which I though was strange as we are both on virgin mobile. I don't think this is the issue though as it's a wifi issue.
Got Bold 9780 on Orange UK Network it can not hold a call whilst wifi enabled on any wifi network Urgent as I have to return the phone tomorrow under warranty
I received a new Samsung S5 4 days ago and hadn't noticed until now that incoming calls weren't getting through, when I tried calling my mobile from a different number it was saying that the phone wasn't connected. Fix - re-seat the sim card - Worked for about 2 minutes and was successfully receiving incoming calls, then I noticed that every call I made to the mobile went to the answer machine so called Virgin mobile back. Fix - Go into settings and remove reference to LTE as follows (I am on a 3G contract)
. Settings . More networds . Mobile networks . Network mode . Select WCDMA/GSM (auto connect) – The default is 'LTE/WCDMA/GSM' and as I don't have LTE was told to switch this off
This fix worked for another 2 minutes, and then I noticed that every incoming call went to the answer machine, so I called back...
Fix - Turn off wifi
Incoming calls work fine now, and every time I turn on wifi they go to answer machine. It appears to be a little intermittent, but I can reproduce the issue fairly consistently when turning the wifi (in the settings) on and off.
So I had a question regarding SMS messaging and phone calls on my iPhone 5s when connected to the wifi in my dorm room at my university. As you can assume, I have zero service when in my room which requires me to be on WiFi whenever I'm in there. The problem is, I can't send any SMS text messages or make any voice calls when on the WiFi. iMessaging works just fine, along with pretty much any other app I use (twitter, ESPN, snapchat, Soundcloud, etc.), it's just the SMS and voice calls that don't work. I'm pretty sure I've been able to FaceTime a couple times, though the connection was obviously horrific, but that still doesn't make sense then why I can't call anyone, iPhone or not, or send any SMS messages when in my dorm room. I am aware that I am updated to the latest software version, and I really don't want to have to tamper with factory resets and all that jazz,
The picture on my phone is distorted when I make or receive a call. It has been this way since I have had the phone but I have noticed other people's are not.
X10pro does not remain connected to WiFi constantly. after some time the WiFi symbol on the top bar goes away. I have to manually open a browser and navigate to a page on internet to re-enable the WiFi connection. It is as if the connection times out. This causes the RoadSync email client to stop checking for emails and also stops the TuneIn radio application from playing the radio station it was playing.
I have a Z2 and recently when at home I am unable to get anything on the Internet while I am connected to my router. If I turn wifi off from the quick settings it is fine.
As far as I am aware I haven't changed anything and it used to be fine. It's a phone or a router issue. I think it could be phone cause the PS4, laptop and my partners phone are still fine.
I am having a strange issue when using both Bluetooth and Wifi simultaneously.
This happens pretty regularly when using the Spotify app whilst having the phone audio connected to a Bluetooth speaker. The pairing process works without issue. However, as soon as I begin searching the app for music, and select a track for playing, the WiFi connection drops. Sometimes It eventually reconnects, other times I have to go back to settings and manually select the network once again.
During the connection drop, I can still see the Wifi network and all my other devices still remain connected. Rebooting the doesnt fix it, nor does disabling/enabling the wifi. Its rendering the phone useless for music streaming!
I recently bought an MHL adapter to connect my Xperia Z3 to my HDTV. Works fine, except one detail: whenever I connect the Phone to the TV, the Xperia drops its Wifi connection. Â I noticed this when my mobile data limit was reached after 3 minutes of Amazon Video and my mobile provider slowed down my mobile data speed... Â Is this a defect of my Xperia Z3 that I need to have fixed by Sony? Is it a general issue all Xperia Z3 have?
My new mini pro wi-fi will not stay connected. I have made sure the WEP key is correct, and the signal is strong throughout the house. No probs with the 3 laptops we use. Even sitting with the livebox on my lap the phone connects and disconnects a few seconds later. This means I am using the 2+3G connection at home.....using valuable 'Fair Use' megs up.
Recently, we have changed our intertnet providers. Before hand we had AT&T, and when I was connected to wifi via phone it would work perfectly. Now though we have Cox for internet service. My phone is connected to the wifi, but more than half the time does it ever work. In small gaps am I able to connect to the internet with itOther times it's like I might as well not even be on. Any possible reasons?he wifi works fine for other devices in the house. Example as in my laptop. It connects just fine and am always able to access the internet.f my problem is confusing what is happening is that I am connected to the wifi and it shows I am. The wifi status icon is up and shows I have a connection. When I try to access a webpage or app that requires the internet, it will not load at all and sometimes say I do not have any internet access. So while it's "connected" I am unable to access anything and it's as if I'm not even using wifi.
Other details:We have a Motorola Cable Modem: Model SB121A Netgear Dual Broadband Router: Model WNDR3400-100NAS N600And for an extra secruity setting, we have selected the option not to broadcast the wifi so that the only way to connect to it is to know the SSID and connect manually.
Only recently my X10 Mini will connect to my home Wifi but then will not browse the net or access any App that require net, I can only access the internet through mobile internet.
Recently my phone is blinking black frequently. When I connect to wifi and use any app, the screen starts flashing. When I search or type any site, keyboard disappears and comes out. Its very annoying. I don't know whether it occurs in mobile data. My idea is that it occurs due to wifi.
I just bought a Mini Pro last week. My only problem is it able to connect to my router without a password but when I use a password it stops working it shows it is connected but no internet.
I am connected to a network , with good signal but i cannot browse websites etc . it says cannot display webpage . when i try to connect to email it says Imap4 server and im supposed to enter something?
Voice calls aren't clear and keep dropping on my mini pro.I don't think it's signal either. My phone shows full signal strength and I haven't had any issues with my sim card in other phones. The closest thing I've found that sound related is on this forum for the mini pro 2011. http://http://talk.sonyericsson.com/message/100711#100711ould it be electrostatic or something to do with the speaker picking up the antena signal?
Not being able to play videos on Facebook when not connected to wifi? I can play videos on youtube whether I'm connected or disconnected from wifi but not on Facebook. Can only play videos on Facebook when I'm connected to wifi.
I bought my device 2 days ago, and based from my observation, my battery life doesnt last that long.. I was an iOS user before I switched to Sony.. I can tell the difference of battery life.. wherein Sony should have more battery life than iOS phones.
I am starting to get really annoyed with my phone, when I make voice calls I'm not able to lock the screen so that the touch screen is disabled?? and in doing so I either end up putting the call on mute, hold or even hang up!I have tried all I can think of, I have just updated my phone to the latest software 5 days ago and seemed ok for 2/3 days but now the darn bug is back. Is this a downside to the phone or am I doing something wrong?
After updating my phone to android 2.1,I'm unable to access my gmail and other apps thru. wifi. I have the wifi symbol at the top which clearly shows that the wifi is connected, but when I try to access gmail, android market and other apps.,it gives me message stating "no network connection".
