Red Hard key Won't power off, won't end a call and on the BB logo hard key no menu will open. It's like they click but actuate nothing? keys 2 and 4 of the bottom row if I've lost anyone.How can I 'fix' these keys. Worked great this am. did several battery pulls.Phone is in an OEM holster 24/7

They had me do everything including delete all my service books and now there is nothing in the host routing table. They finally said, we cant help. My phone is stuck on lower case edge and I cant get data.

View 5 Replies View RelatedOut of nowhere,my BB menu button has become very sensitive.I have lowered the key rate to slow and there are still times when I hit the button and it acts like I'm hitting it twice.I am running lyricidal's 464 hybrid if that matters.I tried battery pulls and switching to the 497 hybrid and neither has helped.

But when I hit the green key to use the phone and then the middle icon for call log, they are still listed there. I know I highlight one and scroll forever but I have like 6 months or more worth! And where is it set how long to keep call log?

I would call myself on the technical side, but am just not sure of how one smartphone can do it and one cant. Not bashing RIM or my storm..and not looking to transfer over to the iphone - just interested in knowing why and if there is, or will be some BB that can offer this.
eg.. what hardware makes this achieve-able? can RIM at all add this to future BB's.
I feel it doesnt have to do anything between CDMA and GSM, I could be wrong, Im sure there are a few members on here that can help clarify.
When i miss a call on my phone , i get a little phone emblem with a x next to it, but i also get an envelope symbol as well. why is this? how can i change it to just show the phone with an x?

It says "You are currently not in an area that can handle data communication. As a result the browser cannot retrieve any web pages" This happens even when Im in full reception and where I would have been prior to leaving!?
Usually I just turn it off and take the battery out but this time it doesnt work. I have no idea what to do or anything about the network etc.

Im currently using the 9530 from verizon and was thinking about selling it and getting a 9500 cuz i have t-mobile and im tired of the EDGE/edge problem.....I was just curious if any of you happen to know if the 9500 has the EDGE/edge problem that the 9530 has with T-Mobile.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOk this is my situation. I have a blackberry curve from tmobile. My sister got a new phone so she gave me her blackberry storm 9350. I went to a cell phone shop around my area and they unlocked the storm so i can use it with my tmobile sim card. I put on the sim card and i thought everything was working perfect but then i found out that i have multiple problem.
The good: I can make calls, i can use the internet.
The bad: when i place a call my sister number appears in the other person phone (not my tmobile number), i cant call my voicemail, cant setup my email, cant receive calls and more problems i still havent discovered lol.
I upgraded my 9500's OS to 5.0.0.425 post which I haven't been able to bring up the keyboard by swiping my finger from the bottom of the screen to the middle. However when I try to swipe it down, the keyboard does disappear. Is this a common problem with the 5.0.0.425 or is it just me who is unlucky?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI wish there was an easy way for me to portray the amount of disdain I have for my Storm at this time, however, that won't do me any good!I'm just looking to get some insight to my problem and whether or not it can be resolved! It would be really unfortunate if I had to replace my lump of a phone as I am a college student that just moved away from home and am in the middle of my two-year contract.My phone is still in operating order minus the faulty touchscreen, it still receives messages, emails, and even phone calls. All the side buttons work, in short, the screen is just dead.I did not drop it nor spill any liquids on it and I've performed a plethora of battery pulls. I'm at a loss!Let me describe the events that occurred before (seemingly) death of my touchscreen. I was at a friends house preparing for a 9/11 5k race when I noticed my battery was running low so I left it in a safe place to quietly run out of steam because I had no need to carry a phone during a race. At this point it was still fully functional. After the race, I check my phone to see if it was out of power yet which it was. I get home later that night and charge it only to rudely surprised by an inoperable screen. I cleaned the screen and did a few battery pulls afterwards in hopes it was only a minor problem to no avail.

My Blackberry Storm 9530 was dropped and suddenly stopped working. There is no damage to the phone or to the screen. Everything looks perfect. But when I turn it on, red light flashes for few seconds. It flashes for about 15 seconds then goes black. The four buttons on the bottom light up for few seconds.I tried Application Loader Wizard but there were no applications to be downloaded.But when I connect it to Blackberry Desktop Manager, the LCD comes back showing the signal of empty Battery. Replaced the battery but it is still working.
View 1 Replies View RelatedA couple weeks ago I put a needle (needle and thread) on my phone screen for like 2 seconds, the needle rolled to the side and went between the screen and he side of the phone, as I tried to get it out it went in further and was pushed behind the screen on Saturday I took the phone a part, managed to get the needle out and put the phone back together. Once it was back together I switched it back on and now the call/menu/return and end call buttons are not working. They do click when pressed but they don't actually do anything anymore. So I retook the phone a part just to make sure I didn't snag anything or move anything to which I found I had not.

I am referring to the method of tapping the power button on the top left to add and remove the lock.The power button still works to turn the phone on etc, but just wont lock the screen. As you can imagine this makes life very difficult with a touch screen phone.

I called Verizon Tech Support and they just ended up giving me a brand new Storm 2 for free! All I had to do was re-sign my contract for another two years. Gonna miss my Storm 1 but the Storm 2 is sweet! Just got it today. Anyone wanting to upgrade, try using that excuse.

View 8 Replies View RelatedHas a Storm and it just shut off on. When I pull the battery, the red light comes on for a few seconds and the screen and buttons light up. Then, it starts over. 20 minutes later and it's still in that same cycle.
It's rocking Verizon's official 5.0 and she doesn't do anything to modify or hack it. I've never encountered this before.
I'm wondering if the OS became corrupt, but we're @ Red Lobster and there's nothing I can do now.
Somtimes when reading a text or using camera my Storm will re-boot and when it comes back up it will say the battery is dead. This happens after its been on the charger all night. The only way to fix it is to use quickpull. Which i have set to re-boot everyday at 5am.. Could my battery be going bad or what?

I backed up the old phone and restored it backup on the new one, but all my third party apps are gone (Telus told me that they should transfer, but I was skeptical). Is there anyway to get these back without having to re-download them all? There's two or three that I actually paid for... it would suck to have to re-buy them!
I'm looking at BlackBerry Desktop Manager, and there's an option to import 3rd party apps from the old phone to the new one, but you need to have both phones at the same time I think. Not too handy!
