I had a question about the 9500. Im currently using the 9530 from verizon and was thinking about selling it and getting a 9500 cuz i have t-mobile and im tired of the EDGE/edge problem.....I was just curious if any of you happen to know if the 9500 has the EDGE/edge problem that the 9530 has with T-Mobile.

I have a unlocked Blackberry Storm and I just signed up for blackberry service yesterday and it has got activated.
my edge has been converted to EDGE now.
But when I see, Mobile Network > Mobile Network Status .
It shows, BLackberry Internet Service : Not Connected.Also, im not able to access anything.
Please help me solve this problem:i recently upgraded my OS to .797 and ever since my mobile network won't turn ON. i've downgraded, upgraded, wiped, resetted it policy, called vzw, looked everywhere online for a solution but still unable to find one. The radio just won't turn on at all, i don't know what to do anymore, please help.one more question, is it possible to unlock torch to be used on vzw?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been using my verizon Storm 9550 for a few months now without any serious problem. However since 2 days ago, the browser could only display mobile site correctly. Every time I try to go to a full site, it displays a loading bar and after that it just shows a blank screen. Even when I try to search on google, the result page is always blank. Could anyone tell me what is going wrong here?
View 5 Replies View RelatedBought an unlocked Storm 9530 yesterday and popped in my T-Mobile SIM card. I could text, but not place any calls. When I tried calling, I received a "No circuit/channel available". At the call screen I see a a phone number that isn't mine. After I gave up I turned off the phone for a while and let it charge. Upon booting up I got an error message and my SIM refused to work at all. It says SOS at the top right and even though my mobile network is on, it just doesn't do anything. I have the mode set to GSM/UMTS and 3G/2G. I can't even select a network manually. I get an error that says "Unable to acquire network."

View 5 Replies View RelatedI wish there was an easy way for me to portray the amount of disdain I have for my Storm at this time, however, that won't do me any good!I'm just looking to get some insight to my problem and whether or not it can be resolved! It would be really unfortunate if I had to replace my lump of a phone as I am a college student that just moved away from home and am in the middle of my two-year contract.My phone is still in operating order minus the faulty touchscreen, it still receives messages, emails, and even phone calls. All the side buttons work, in short, the screen is just dead.I did not drop it nor spill any liquids on it and I've performed a plethora of battery pulls. I'm at a loss!Let me describe the events that occurred before (seemingly) death of my touchscreen. I was at a friends house preparing for a 9/11 5k race when I noticed my battery was running low so I left it in a safe place to quietly run out of steam because I had no need to carry a phone during a race. At this point it was still fully functional. After the race, I check my phone to see if it was out of power yet which it was. I get home later that night and charge it only to rudely surprised by an inoperable screen. I cleaned the screen and did a few battery pulls afterwards in hopes it was only a minor problem to no avail.

I was also in a moderate car crash the day prior so perhaps that may have caused some problems? Externally, my phone is in mint condition. I suppose this just hasn't been my week!
Got this the other day while trying to get vzaccess mgr to work...anyway..reloaded .328 with DM and when i booted up i had 49 some mb app...knew that didnt look right so got to looking and noticed that it did not install BBM or BB maps...i download bb messenger w no problem ota...but BB maps i cannot find... is there an OTA link for BB maps?

Plug it in, wait a few hours, and the battery is good to go.Sometimes though, it is plugged in for hours, 16 hours this time, and the power bar is still empty. If I unplug the phone, it shuts off. I mention this to forestall the "make sure it's plugged in, lol" comments. Obviously it's getting some juice, since the phone stays powered up, the battery just isn't charging.One time I had to leave the phone plugged in for three days before it started to charge.Does anyone have any suggestions?

View 5 Replies View RelatedYesterday I hooked my Storm I to my computer to make a backup as I do each month. Desktop Manager told me that a componet on the phone had an update so I let it go trough the process. My phone restarted during the update and then entered into a seemingly endless cycle of restarting.I tried reconnecting my phone but to no avail it would only contiue it's cycle. I then followed the instructions on how to save a nuked berry but every time it would get to the point of restarting the phone it would get stuck in that cycle again.This morning I took my phone to my local VZW store and explained what happened. The tech replaced my phone with a refurb. I came home and hooked it up to my computer to restore my contacts and the phone went to a white screen and restarted. Yet again it was stuck in this endless cycle until I unplugged it. When I removed this one from the computer it would boot like normal.I tried this a number of times with the same result. I then removed desktop manger and the phone software from my computer along with all drivers and RIM related files. I restarted then downloaded desktop manager and reinstalled. I restarted my computer again for good measure then tried to restore my contacts again. Sadly the same thing happened - once I plug the phone in a white screen comes up and it restarts over and over. Hopefully someone has an idea because I'm lost.

I went home and it was working great, when I went to plug it into my computer I got a WSOD that said MTP error and restarted the phone. I tried on two different computers at home both with desktop manager on them but both of them cause this error and restart as soon as i plug it in so im not able to update the os, backup, restore, or do anything via my computer. I went back into verizon today and switched out phones again, luckily I took my laptop in with me to test it out. This phone is doing the same thing. We plugged it into the computer at verizon and hooked it up to desktop manager and it worked fine.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have an unlocked TELUS Storm playing GSM on a Philippines carrier called Smart. The data connection and call reception quality here has been nothing but horrible. Dropped calls/Calls failed, etc are pretty rampant around here (no matter what part of town you're in)
Anyway, I'd _like_ to think it may be something to do with the fact that the device is not Smart authorized/sold device. However, the backward nature of cellphone networks here could argue me down.
Long story short, now that you know my troubles.. when I'm on a full GPRS/EDGE connection, I pull up the browser. Once I start getting ready to type in a URL, the GPRS/EDGE goes to gprs/edge. It happens about 98% of the time. This same thing happens when I go to URL from an email/sms etc. I can't seem to figure it out. I've been on .328, but upgrading to .419 as we speak. Thoughts would be nice.
I went to the Verizon place a couple of days ago to see if they could get my phone to stop freezing and running slow. Well they accidentally deleted over half my pictures and my phone is the only place I have those pictures. Well luckily, I thought, I have a backup file and my pictures will be on there. But whenever I try to run it I get the error "data not recognized by desktop!" Some of these pictures are really really important to me and I want them back. Is there anything I can do to make the backup file work? Will it even contain the pictures? I have a blackberry storm and the verizon place said I have the most updated software.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got the storm 9530 for verizon. I hit the lock button on the top,then when I go to unlock it asks for the password. Is there a way to unable the password? I went into the settings for the password and where it says enable it wont let me click on it. It shows enable with a lock next to it. I do know the password, but it is getting annoying to type in a password everytime the phone gets out of the sleep mode. Any help would be great. I did try to search here but could find anything.

I found the add filter in my email set up but could not figure out how to use it. I also searched these forums for answers but found partial help. Some posts talk about using their BIS account. On my BB i just set my email up and it works fine. I use google apps. gmail that my work set up. In that account i have filters that move my emails to labels. On my storm these same emails come through. My questions are:
1. can i use the built in filter on the BB? to filter my gmail? if so how?
2. why would i want to set up a BIS account? what are the advantages?
I have a 9530.... the backlight went out....(with a flashlight on the screen, i can see the icons and the touch part works) I was told the backlight, was part of the LCD.... I ordered a new LCD/digitizer.....
