One second I'm texting my friend. Next second I get a white screen that says JVM Error. I restart the phone, and EVERY ******* THING IS GONE. CONTACTS, CALANDER APPOINTMENTS, MEMOS, GONE. Why? This phone...This phone is a piece of JUNK. I've had it for over a year now. This..over 100 contacts I have to get b ack. This is fantastic.
View 6 RepliesI have a storm running on tmobile. I found a fix to always get an EDGE and did it. it worked the first time and was fine for a few months but then it stopped working so I did it again. When I did my phone stopped having any data service. There are no entries in the host routing table..Ive reregistered my device a million times and its not working. Ive been on the phone with tmobile (they are no help) I read all the post about this but nothing has fixed it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI went to the Verizon place a couple of days ago to see if they could get my phone to stop freezing and running slow. Well they accidentally deleted over half my pictures and my phone is the only place I have those pictures. Well luckily, I thought, I have a backup file and my pictures will be on there. But whenever I try to run it I get the error "data not recognized by desktop!" Some of these pictures are really really important to me and I want them back. Is there anything I can do to make the backup file work? Will it even contain the pictures? I have a blackberry storm and the verizon place said I have the most updated software.

View 6 Replies View RelatedEver since I installed Verizon's official OS 5.0.0.328 on the S1, my app memory from a restart has slowly dwindled.When it started to boot up with about 28 megs, I started to delete apps. At this point, I boot up with about 17 megs without adding any new apps or themes.
I have insurance, but can also wait for wait until more details are listed on either a Nexus or Iphone is released on Verizon in a few months.Wipe and reinstall? New phone?
My browser and email stopped working about 3 days ago and I spent almost a whole day on the phone with support, no help. They had me do everything including delete all my service books and now there is nothing in the host routing table. They finally said, we cant help. My phone is stuck on lower case edge and I cant get data.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI was having issues trying to change my default email to a gmail account. I finally decided to delete the gmail account and then re-register it. When I did this I accidentally chose to sync contacts. Now all my contacts are friggin' gone! If I open my call history all the info is there for everyone, but not anywhere else. Anyone have any ideas on WTF happened and how to recover them? I can't imagine that they were all wiped out irrecoverably. BTW, I've checked for any filters, and even deleted the gmail contacts service book but still no joy.

Plug it in, wait a few hours, and the battery is good to go.Sometimes though, it is plugged in for hours, 16 hours this time, and the power bar is still empty. If I unplug the phone, it shuts off. I mention this to forestall the "make sure it's plugged in, lol" comments. Obviously it's getting some juice, since the phone stays powered up, the battery just isn't charging.One time I had to leave the phone plugged in for three days before it started to charge.Does anyone have any suggestions?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just updated my Unlocked Verizon Storm 9530 to new OS 5.0.0328 after 2 weeks trying. after great help from BBstorm4me, I was able to complete upgrade. I installed my backup to reinstall my contacts but I now have no browser and the instructions of register now from the Advance options does not work!!! It stays blank. My phone is working with calls and text but no Internet? It was working fine prior to OS update. How do I get my Internet back and my Browser?
I see all these great post for those on At&T and Verizon, but no one is listing any info to those users that are not paying 100.00 + bucks a month! Im in California and am using Cricket paying only 45.00 per month with unlimited text, calls, and internet. I paid $75.00 for the BB 9530 and $30.00 to flash. I surely dont want to pay another 30.00 to re-flash the phone just to get the internet back that was working fine prior to OS upgrade.
Yesterday I hooked my Storm I to my computer to make a backup as I do each month. Desktop Manager told me that a componet on the phone had an update so I let it go trough the process. My phone restarted during the update and then entered into a seemingly endless cycle of restarting.I tried reconnecting my phone but to no avail it would only contiue it's cycle. I then followed the instructions on how to save a nuked berry but every time it would get to the point of restarting the phone it would get stuck in that cycle again.This morning I took my phone to my local VZW store and explained what happened. The tech replaced my phone with a refurb. I came home and hooked it up to my computer to restore my contacts and the phone went to a white screen and restarted. Yet again it was stuck in this endless cycle until I unplugged it. When I removed this one from the computer it would boot like normal.I tried this a number of times with the same result. I then removed desktop manger and the phone software from my computer along with all drivers and RIM related files. I restarted then downloaded desktop manager and reinstalled. I restarted my computer again for good measure then tried to restore my contacts again. Sadly the same thing happened - once I plug the phone in a white screen comes up and it restarts over and over. Hopefully someone has an idea because I'm lost.

I went home and it was working great, when I went to plug it into my computer I got a WSOD that said MTP error and restarted the phone. I tried on two different computers at home both with desktop manager on them but both of them cause this error and restart as soon as i plug it in so im not able to update the os, backup, restore, or do anything via my computer. I went back into verizon today and switched out phones again, luckily I took my laptop in with me to test it out. This phone is doing the same thing. We plugged it into the computer at verizon and hooked it up to desktop manager and it worked fine.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI wish there was an easy way for me to portray the amount of disdain I have for my Storm at this time, however, that won't do me any good!I'm just looking to get some insight to my problem and whether or not it can be resolved! It would be really unfortunate if I had to replace my lump of a phone as I am a college student that just moved away from home and am in the middle of my two-year contract.My phone is still in operating order minus the faulty touchscreen, it still receives messages, emails, and even phone calls. All the side buttons work, in short, the screen is just dead.I did not drop it nor spill any liquids on it and I've performed a plethora of battery pulls. I'm at a loss!Let me describe the events that occurred before (seemingly) death of my touchscreen. I was at a friends house preparing for a 9/11 5k race when I noticed my battery was running low so I left it in a safe place to quietly run out of steam because I had no need to carry a phone during a race. At this point it was still fully functional. After the race, I check my phone to see if it was out of power yet which it was. I get home later that night and charge it only to rudely surprised by an inoperable screen. I cleaned the screen and did a few battery pulls afterwards in hopes it was only a minor problem to no avail.

According to bbleaks, it sounds as though there insinuating that an OS leak for Storm 9500/9530 will be coming within the next week or so. If its true then sweet! Can't wait!
I am using 9530 unlocked phone, and it is enterprise activated phone, recently I completely wiped the data on that device, and try to re-install the OS, I can't able to reinstall the OS when I download the same from Blackberry website. It is throwing "unknown error occurred".

I called Verizon Tech Support and they just ended up giving me a brand new Storm 2 for free! All I had to do was re-sign my contract for another two years. Gonna miss my Storm 1 but the Storm 2 is sweet! Just got it today. Anyone wanting to upgrade, try using that excuse.

View 8 Replies View RelatedHas a Storm and it just shut off on. When I pull the battery, the red light comes on for a few seconds and the screen and buttons light up. Then, it starts over. 20 minutes later and it's still in that same cycle.
It's rocking Verizon's official 5.0 and she doesn't do anything to modify or hack it. I've never encountered this before.
I'm wondering if the OS became corrupt, but we're @ Red Lobster and there's nothing I can do now.
Somtimes when reading a text or using camera my Storm will re-boot and when it comes back up it will say the battery is dead. This happens after its been on the charger all night. The only way to fix it is to use quickpull. Which i have set to re-boot everyday at 5am.. Could my battery be going bad or what?

I backed up the old phone and restored it backup on the new one, but all my third party apps are gone (Telus told me that they should transfer, but I was skeptical). Is there anyway to get these back without having to re-download them all? There's two or three that I actually paid for... it would suck to have to re-buy them!
I'm looking at BlackBerry Desktop Manager, and there's an option to import 3rd party apps from the old phone to the new one, but you need to have both phones at the same time I think. Not too handy!
