I will be ordering a replacement touch screen for my N900 (stopped working for some reason). Was wondering if anybody else wanted to replace theirs. If there are enough people will try to get a better deal, if not 1 touch screen is around $62 Canadian plus shipping.
View 15 RepliesI have a used BlackBerry Storm2 9550. There is a small issue with the touch screen digitizer, and replacing the digitizer will fix the problem. But the technician said thet, he can't replace the digitizer without replacing the whole LCD screen, as the both LCD screen and digitizer comes as a one unit. But on eBay I saw that some sellers sells the digitizer without the LCD screen.
Is it true? My LCD screen works properly. Can't I replace the touch screen digitizer, without replacing my LCD screen.
I need to replace the digitizer for my Fuze (the screen works fine, just no input)Is this something I can do myself? How does the digitizer attach to the screen? I took it to a repair shop and they said it can't be done because they are glued together.. I'm hoping for more of a sticky-back digitizer solution.. Has anyone done this repair?
View 1 Replies View Relatedover the last few days my dare's touch screen has been acting up. first it was making random touches, i figured there is a pocket of air underneath the screen. now the screen is not responsive at all, it does not feel like the screen has been pushed at all it is like its completely solid underneath the touch screen. the display itself is fine, so i don't think the lcd is the issue.
there also seems to be a spot underneath the display on the left side (see picture) that has been expanding since the problem started. again i don't know if its air or moisture. any suggestions? i have seen both oem lcds and digitizers on ebay for around $15, which is more likely the cause of the problem?i can't draw too well with the touchpad on my laptop but the white thing is supposed to be an arrow pointing to what i'm talking about.
I have had my N900 for about 6 months and I have had the following problem on 3 occasions.The touch screen goes totally haywire. I try to select any link and the screen will jump. the multiple screens will not centre. Sometimes it will go into screen maintenance mode. a lot of the time nothing at all will happen.I noticed it happened most when the battery was almost totally run down so a full charge seemed to do the trick or it would cure itself but today it has happened with half battery life.I tried to flash it but I am unable to even select a mode for the phone to connect to my PC. This obviously means i cant run a reset, i cant back up my files nothing!Has anyone else experienced this problem and what have you done about it? I am at the point where the phone is going back to Nokia for a repair and a letter will accompany it.

Now is this rectifiable? Or better to go for an exchange? I dont trust Nokia Care because my e72 is still with them for some error which they are not explaning properly. Poor customer service.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought the new Nokia 5233 phone.Whenever the phone is locked and I set a alarm. There is no way i can stop the alaram other than to reset the alarm manually by alarms-> edit.
There will be two touch buttons that apper on the otuch screen. One to stop and other to snooze the alarm. Even If press them, it wont work. The alaram keeps ringing. I even tried clicking on the green button and the menu botton at the bottom. Still no use. I cant even unlock the phone. Only thing i can do is press the red button at the end, which will snooze the alarm. After this, I have to manually change the alarm time.
The same thing happens even with phone calls. I cannot use the touch button that apper on the touch screen. I have to use the green and red button at the bottom.These problem come into picture only if the phone is locked. Otherwise it works fine.

I wanted to apply a new clear coat on my phone and after putting on the coat and the battery back in the phone, the touch screen will not work almost at all. View 6 Replies View RelatedCouldnt use touch screen at all suddenly today, I reinstalled the latest firmware update but it didnt help so did full reset and now Ive got the countries screen but can only scroll down 3 countries and cannot select any (select and cancel dont work) also the media bar keeps randomly flashing onto the screen. Anyone any idea what's causing this? It hasnt been dropped or anything, first I knew was I couldnt turn off the alarm this morning. I dont know how to go about getting it repaired as it was a competition prize in july 2009 and didnt come with any warranty documents.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the 5800 XpressMusic and a few days ago the touch screen stopped working properly.When the phone has been off for an hour or two everything works fine for the first couple of minutes, then it stops recognizing presses/unpresses and holds a lot. For this reason it sounds to me like a software fault but the guy in the local phone shop reckons the screen is pressed in and needs to be physically repaired.Any ideas?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy N97 touchscreen sometimes freezes when I get a call. I try to unlock the phone by using the keyguard key [coz the screen is frozen] but nothing happens. I also try the call buttons and they also don't respond.And could Nokia, please, change the setting on the display light after a call in the next update. The screen goes dark after the call that you cannot see the call duration at the end of the call. Its highly annoying!!! [At least to me since I have to monitor my calls since I roam alot]I do have the latest version of the Nokia Software installed on the N97 and everything else is working fine.

I called for Nokia Support in Careline and also support mail, they assist me to reset the factory settings and reinstall the latest software. I did those tasks but unfortunately the Handset remains in same problem. After that I took it in Nokia Care Center, they took time day long and reinstall the software again claiming that the problem might be in software update, after they returned my set and before I reached my Home the problem again arised.

i realy your help in this one, now i live in Lebanon, and i'm searching for a n900, but the other day my freind told that you can't check for your balance in your phone operartor, is that true, were i live, you need to recharge your phone in before you make phone calls, send messages etc, and to see how much dollars(or what ever its called) you still have in what you have recharged, you need to press *11# and than the green button, and than a message shows up showing you your phone operator balance, is it true that that can't be done on the n900? i like it how i can overclock the n900 from 600 mhz to 1000 mhz in less than 30 sec.

Neither work. I know I can use the buttons, but why have the other options on the screen if they don't work. What about the other options like silence or reject, or send message. All gone.
The new version is **bleep**.Also, when I set an alarm, I can't silence it, or stop it using the touch screen.This all seems to happen when the phone is locked, but if the phone is unlocked, I get the older options.I don't know how I'm expected to unlock my phone just before someone rings me to enable me to have all the existing options, or wake up before my alarm in order to unlock the phone, so I can snooze or stop it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading the phone to V21.0.045 I've had intermittent problems with the touch screen vibrate stopping working, which has fixed itself after a reboot. Also the unreliable slide lock problem has returned with this update. Now, as of this evening vibrate and even the small kick given when you switch on has stopped working. Not fixable by a reboot or taking the battery out.
I'm wondering if this is a hardware issue, simply worn out after 7 months or to do with V21? Can't reinstall V21, the new version of updater won't let me do it.
