Have anyone else noticed that when you plug in the charger the touch screen slows down and doesn't respond properly especially with swiping and scrolling? E.g. instead of swiping it selects item.Try it with lists or a webpage and you should notice that, if you have the same issues.
View 10 RepliesI just purchased a nokia lumia 800. But i have noticed a problem with the touch detection on the screen.
When i swipe (ex. for scrolling on the app list) then the phone some times detects the swipe as a tap, and then might open an app og an URL, or what ever is under my finger when it happens. This behavier is very random, and usually happens at the start of swiping (eg. detects me putting my finger on the screen and not lifting it again, but swiping, as a tap).
Several times per day, my screen just stops working. The LCD portion of the screen still turns on and off, but it won't recognize any touches. The only way out is a soft reset, since I can't swipe down to turn the phone off, then it works again. I have the Windows 10 preview installed, if that matters.
I'm thinking that it's a hardware issue, but I'm not 100% on that, since a soft reset temporarily solves the problem.
I also tried a hard reset and that had me hopeful, because it worked most of the day, then the issue returned in the evening.
I was taking a shower; the Lumia 900 on the bathroom counter like I've always had my iPhone 3G. I got a call, dried off, used it, and the buttons on the phone became frozen and all touch input was no longer working. I finally soft reset the device by holding down the power button for 15 seconds (ignore the pull down to shut down tile, you can't drag it) and reset and it works again, but I am concerned. A little bit of humidity seems to have knocked it out, but it may be a coincidence.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure what happened but my touch screen isn't functional. Buttons work but the touch screen is not opperating like it should. I had plenty of battery life left. I tried restarting it a few times, but the touch screen won't work.

I've only had my Lumia 710 for two weeks. Up until 4 days ago, the touch screen focus attribute was working perfectly. I was taking pictures and it simply stopped working.I've since tried resetting the camera options back to defaults with no luck. I recently updated the phones software pn 10.18.2012 with no change either. I also took out the battery and sim card out of frustration and obviously had no luck.
View 2 Replies View RelatedCouldnt use touch screen at all suddenly today, I reinstalled the latest firmware update but it didnt help so did full reset and now Ive got the countries screen but can only scroll down 3 countries and cannot select any (select and cancel dont work) also the media bar keeps randomly flashing onto the screen. Anyone any idea what's causing this? It hasnt been dropped or anything, first I knew was I couldnt turn off the alarm this morning. I dont know how to go about getting it repaired as it was a competition prize in july 2009 and didnt come with any warranty documents.

It is my first time to by a nokia touch screen phone and now the touch screen is not working any more. I tried to update the software to version 6.but no change. I feel robbed by nokia as I wasted my money on this phone. Now I can not unlock the phone, I have to switch off the phone and I cant type or save a number,I cant view missed calls and messages. I have send it to techinicians but all the touch screens they tried did not work It records 3gp video files only not mpeg4?

View 6 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading the phone to V21.0.045 I've had intermittent problems with the touch screen vibrate stopping working, which has fixed itself after a reboot. Also the unreliable slide lock problem has returned with this update. Now, as of this evening vibrate and even the small kick given when you switch on has stopped working. Not fixable by a reboot or taking the battery out.
I'm wondering if this is a hardware issue, simply worn out after 7 months or to do with V21? Can't reinstall V21, the new version of updater won't let me do it.
I was a proud owner of the Nokia X6 since June 2010 till now recently. Every time I send an SMS or edit a contact, it restart itself. Everytime....
I took it back to MTNSP and they told me it cannot be fixed and they gave me a new handset.
The new handset: Now its a new problem, everytime I download software from Ovi, it start hanging, touchscreen not working. I switch it off and on again and it works for about 30 seconds and hangs/freezes. It does this everytime. I tried to delete the programs again but it keeps on doing the same thing. I tried to scan with antivirus program but still no solution
I just bought a 5800 Xpressmusic and am going through the learning phase of how to use this phone. So far pretty pleased with what I have figured out how to use but have run into a couple problems. Not sure if I have set up something wrong or if there may be something wrong with the phone. The first problem is the touch screen functions (i.e. answer, silence, options, reject) do not work when I get a call. So sometimes when I hit the "green" button if will connect, but sometimes it will hang up on whomever was calling. I am using AT&T as my provider. The second problem that I am having now is playing music. It used to work, but now it will not play any songs that I have loaded thorough Ovi program. Even the "back" function key is non-responsive, however, the "option" function key does work.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI updated my X6 thorugh NSU. Now the issue I am facing is the touch screen not working properly. Especially, the onscreen button nears edges are not pressed when I try to touch them. For example, if I select Full QWERTY keyboard in messaging, I cannot press spacebar and the entire line. When I try to touch these buttons at the bottom, the line above is pressed.
Looks like some error in screen calibration. But there is not option for calibration in X6 ( being a capacitive touch screen). What should I do now, please help? I hope its just a firmware issue since everything was working correctly on version 10 firmware. Is there any solution to fix the issue?
My 5800 touch screen is not responding well like any touch screen should. Compared with my friend's phone and he said there is definite problem with touch. Now is this rectifiable? Or better to go for an exchange? I dont trust Nokia Care because my e72 is still with them for some error which they are not explaning properly. Poor customer service.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought the new Nokia 5233 phone.Whenever the phone is locked and I set a alarm. There is no way i can stop the alaram other than to reset the alarm manually by alarms-> edit.
There will be two touch buttons that apper on the otuch screen. One to stop and other to snooze the alarm. Even If press them, it wont work. The alaram keeps ringing. I even tried clicking on the green button and the menu botton at the bottom. Still no use. I cant even unlock the phone. Only thing i can do is press the red button at the end, which will snooze the alarm. After this, I have to manually change the alarm time.
The same thing happens even with phone calls. I cannot use the touch button that apper on the touch screen. I have to use the green and red button at the bottom.These problem come into picture only if the phone is locked. Otherwise it works fine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedToday my phone's screen suddenly went unresponsive to touch. As of now, touching it doesn't do anything, so the phone is inoperable. This did not occur as the result of a drop or other abuse. However, I have seen the numerous "ghost swipe" posts, and I will admit that I always carry my phone in my front pocket, face down. However I put my phone on a flat surface and it didn't seem to be bent.
The interesting thing is that sometimes, touching the upper left hand corner of the screen will issue a vibration just like the one you get from pressing the capacitive buttons on the bottom. And 3 times I have actually opened Cortana from pressing and holding near the top left corner of the phone, above the LCD. I've attached a picture where I have highlighted the places where touching the corner can issue a vibration - the blue area provokes the vibration and the yellow dot is where I've managed to open Cortana.
All of the other buttons on the sides work fine, I've done many soft resets but I'm reluctant to do a hard one. Right now I'm probably just going to get the screen replaced or something, or do you think that the screen's not the problem?
Not sure if I have a hardware or software issue. I just updated my 1520 to Windows 10 (build 10586.29).
The touch screen will randomly stop working. I'll be trying to scroll, open an app, etc. Nothing. I have to reboot the entire phone. I also get random ghost touch issues.
None of this was happening on Windows 8.1. However, I have only had the phone for two days. Used 8.1 for one day and have been using 10 today. That is why I am unsure if this is an OS issue or a hardware defect.

It was under warranty so I went to Nokia service centre and they changed the Touch screen Digitizer.It worked well for few days and meanwhile its warranty expired. Now it has the same problem and the touch screen doesn't work at all. So, I put the phone back to the phone and started using my other phone.after 2-3 days, I thought that I should take the phone to the service centre, so removed the batter and inserted the SIM card. I started the phone and touch screen was working fine. I thought, I am lucky as the touch screen is working now. But after few hours probably 3-4, the touch screen stopped working again. Quite weird behaviour.So, if i put the phone to off for around 1 day and starts using it again then the touch works and after few hours it stops working again. I went to service centre again and they said, they would firstly change the touch screen ( price INR 1500) and after that they could comment on the phone's behaviour.
UPDATE: I have updated the phone firmware to latest one. Touch works even after 5 hours but not the exact point of contact.. When i try to press Menu, it always activates the Address/exit button, so the wherever you touch it activates the right side of the area.
My dad got mad took my phone and started stomping on it with the heel of his shoe. I just now have gotten it back and at first glance, there is no damage. But after turning it on, the touch screen doesnt work. No matter how hard i press or anything, nothing happens. I do not have apple care warranty. So my question to you is do any of you guys know of a place that can fix this. The glass isnt broken, just the part that senses that you are touching the glass is.

The pulling out battery doesn't work; and its not an option to take to my carrier since it is an Att device and my provider is Tmobile.
