I'm not sure what happened but my touch screen isn't functional. Buttons work but the touch screen is not opperating like it should. I had plenty of battery life left. I tried restarting it a few times, but the touch screen won't work.

I'd really appreciate someone's help. I wanted to apply a new clear coat on my phone and after putting on the coat and the battery back in the phone, the touch screen will not work almost at all. There is no selection happening on the interface where I touch and the phone cannot be used.Could someone give me some clue on what might be wrong with the phone?
Have anyone else noticed that when you plug in the charger the touch screen slows down and doesn't respond properly especially with swiping and scrolling? E.g. instead of swiping it selects item.Try it with lists or a webpage and you should notice that, if you have the same issues.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a nokia lumia 800. But i have noticed a problem with the touch detection on the screen.
When i swipe (ex. for scrolling on the app list) then the phone some times detects the swipe as a tap, and then might open an app og an URL, or what ever is under my finger when it happens. This behavier is very random, and usually happens at the start of swiping (eg. detects me putting my finger on the screen and not lifting it again, but swiping, as a tap).
I've only had my Lumia 710 for two weeks. Up until 4 days ago, the touch screen focus attribute was working perfectly. I was taking pictures and it simply stopped working.I've since tried resetting the camera options back to defaults with no luck. I recently updated the phones software pn 10.18.2012 with no change either. I also took out the battery and sim card out of frustration and obviously had no luck.

Now is this rectifiable? Or better to go for an exchange? I dont trust Nokia Care because my e72 is still with them for some error which they are not explaning properly. Poor customer service.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought the new Nokia 5233 phone.Whenever the phone is locked and I set a alarm. There is no way i can stop the alaram other than to reset the alarm manually by alarms-> edit.
There will be two touch buttons that apper on the otuch screen. One to stop and other to snooze the alarm. Even If press them, it wont work. The alaram keeps ringing. I even tried clicking on the green button and the menu botton at the bottom. Still no use. I cant even unlock the phone. Only thing i can do is press the red button at the end, which will snooze the alarm. After this, I have to manually change the alarm time.
The same thing happens even with phone calls. I cannot use the touch button that apper on the touch screen. I have to use the green and red button at the bottom.These problem come into picture only if the phone is locked. Otherwise it works fine.
Today my phone's screen suddenly went unresponsive to touch. As of now, touching it doesn't do anything, so the phone is inoperable. This did not occur as the result of a drop or other abuse. However, I have seen the numerous "ghost swipe" posts, and I will admit that I always carry my phone in my front pocket, face down. However I put my phone on a flat surface and it didn't seem to be bent.
The interesting thing is that sometimes, touching the upper left hand corner of the screen will issue a vibration just like the one you get from pressing the capacitive buttons on the bottom. And 3 times I have actually opened Cortana from pressing and holding near the top left corner of the phone, above the LCD. I've attached a picture where I have highlighted the places where touching the corner can issue a vibration - the blue area provokes the vibration and the yellow dot is where I've managed to open Cortana.
All of the other buttons on the sides work fine, I've done many soft resets but I'm reluctant to do a hard one. Right now I'm probably just going to get the screen replaced or something, or do you think that the screen's not the problem?
Not sure if I have a hardware or software issue. I just updated my 1520 to Windows 10 (build 10586.29).
The touch screen will randomly stop working. I'll be trying to scroll, open an app, etc. Nothing. I have to reboot the entire phone. I also get random ghost touch issues.
None of this was happening on Windows 8.1. However, I have only had the phone for two days. Used 8.1 for one day and have been using 10 today. That is why I am unsure if this is an OS issue or a hardware defect.
Several times per day, my screen just stops working. The LCD portion of the screen still turns on and off, but it won't recognize any touches. The only way out is a soft reset, since I can't swipe down to turn the phone off, then it works again. I have the Windows 10 preview installed, if that matters.
I'm thinking that it's a hardware issue, but I'm not 100% on that, since a soft reset temporarily solves the problem.
I also tried a hard reset and that had me hopeful, because it worked most of the day, then the issue returned in the evening.
I accidentally activated my voice command option on my phone and it does not allow me to scroll left right up down nothing. I have to search double tapping everytime, swipe type is disables and i am not able to go to my setting and undo as i am not able to scroll nor select anything.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone got problem with emails not being updated correctly?Have 3 POP3 accounts in my E6 and tested sync "soonest" and "15min" and never updates it for new emails, not even when i hit "z" it seems to sync correctly.Even sometimes it does, the overview screen/Home screen is stuck with preview from old emails.Hate this because if the email does not work properly it is completely useless for me. This works perfect on my E71 and E72.

It seems that tracnsfer/sync with Zune software is OK, but trying to use the phone when connected is just about out of the question. Immediately when I disconnect the cable the touch screen is again as smooth as should be.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was taking a shower; the Lumia 900 on the bathroom counter like I've always had my iPhone 3G. I got a call, dried off, used it, and the buttons on the phone became frozen and all touch input was no longer working. I finally soft reset the device by holding down the power button for 15 seconds (ignore the pull down to shut down tile, you can't drag it) and reset and it works again, but I am concerned. A little bit of humidity seems to have knocked it out, but it may be a coincidence.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince the OS update for the 920, the "display+touch" feature does not work properly. When I tap on it, the message "display+touch can't be opened. An app update may be available" is presented. I have attempted to update the app via QR but am presented with the message "share." I have done few soft resets but the problem persists. I have asked for help in other forums, but the issue remains. Is it possible that a future "display+touch" update may solve the problem? In lieu of that, can someone offer another suggestion? I would hate to do a hard reset and end up with a "bricked" phone.

View 6 Replies View RelatedCouldnt use touch screen at all suddenly today, I reinstalled the latest firmware update but it didnt help so did full reset and now Ive got the countries screen but can only scroll down 3 countries and cannot select any (select and cancel dont work) also the media bar keeps randomly flashing onto the screen. Anyone any idea what's causing this? It hasnt been dropped or anything, first I knew was I couldnt turn off the alarm this morning. I dont know how to go about getting it repaired as it was a competition prize in july 2009 and didnt come with any warranty documents.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the 5800 XpressMusic and a few days ago the touch screen stopped working properly.When the phone has been off for an hour or two everything works fine for the first couple of minutes, then it stops recognizing presses/unpresses and holds a lot. For this reason it sounds to me like a software fault but the guy in the local phone shop reckons the screen is pressed in and needs to be physically repaired.Any ideas?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have had my N900 for about 6 months and I have had the following problem on 3 occasions.The touch screen goes totally haywire. I try to select any link and the screen will jump. the multiple screens will not centre. Sometimes it will go into screen maintenance mode. a lot of the time nothing at all will happen.I noticed it happened most when the battery was almost totally run down so a full charge seemed to do the trick or it would cure itself but today it has happened with half battery life.I tried to flash it but I am unable to even select a mode for the phone to connect to my PC. This obviously means i cant run a reset, i cant back up my files nothing!Has anyone else experienced this problem and what have you done about it? I am at the point where the phone is going back to Nokia for a repair and a letter will accompany it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy N97 touchscreen sometimes freezes when I get a call. I try to unlock the phone by using the keyguard key [coz the screen is frozen] but nothing happens. I also try the call buttons and they also don't respond.And could Nokia, please, change the setting on the display light after a call in the next update. The screen goes dark after the call that you cannot see the call duration at the end of the call. Its highly annoying!!! [At least to me since I have to monitor my calls since I roam alot]I do have the latest version of the Nokia Software installed on the N97 and everything else is working fine.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe touch screen suddenly stopped working from last night It was still working at 2 am when i went to bed to set an alarm.This morning i wouldnt press anything..I tried hard reset byholding odwn the 3 buttons, and now it askes for choice of language and i cant press anything.I also tried restoring it using Nokia Suite, and nothing has worked. I think it might have been a hardware problems.Right now it is still udner warannty. Is there anothing i can do before i bring it in? I called for Nokia Support in Careline and also support mail, they assist me to reset the factory settings and reinstall the latest software. I did those tasks but unfortunately the Handset remains in same problem. After that I took it in Nokia Care Center, they took time day long and reinstall the software again claiming that the problem might be in software update, after they returned my set and before I reached my Home the problem again arised.

Neither work. I know I can use the buttons, but why have the other options on the screen if they don't work. What about the other options like silence or reject, or send message. All gone.
The new version is **bleep**.Also, when I set an alarm, I can't silence it, or stop it using the touch screen.This all seems to happen when the phone is locked, but if the phone is unlocked, I get the older options.I don't know how I'm expected to unlock my phone just before someone rings me to enable me to have all the existing options, or wake up before my alarm in order to unlock the phone, so I can snooze or stop it.
