Hey, I wonder if anyone could explain how to change the alarm tone to a custom tone/song, I've been trying forever, but can't figure out how. When i go into "setup" I can only choose; get tones, standard and off
i wanted to know if there was a way to change the start up tone, power off tone, and messages. I figured out how to change my ringtone for phone calls but that was about it.My phone also vibrates twice before the actually ringtone plays. Is there a way to set it to where it just vibrates and rings at the same time right away?
I had a standard message tone set which i wanted to change, when i click on message tone, then change it offers me to either download or put the message tone on silent. I would like to be able to access the standard message tones that came with the phone but i cant find them anywhere as it doesnt offer me this option anymore. Help me please i'm struggling with this phone as it is
My 5800 touch screen is not responding well like any touch screen should. Compared with my friend's phone and he said there is definite problem with touch. Now is this rectifiable? Or better to go for an exchange? I dont trust Nokia Care because my e72 is still with them for some error which they are not explaning properly. Poor customer service.
I can't figure out how to change the ring tone from the Nokia Tune to my mp3 song that I already put in the phone. Also I want every contact to have a different melody. Don't know how to do it. Does any one know how to do this?
This might be a really silly question but, i'm sent, via bluetooth, my tones for text messages from my old mobile to my new nokia 5800. I can find them but i cant seem to change my text tone? can anyone help me please?
I own a Nokia 6301. I want to use it as an alarm clock for convenience and i want to change the song/tone that is being played. I do not know how to change it. My primary problem is everytime i go to the option of changing it to something i prefere, all i get is "This File Is Too Big"?? How can i fix this? So far, the cap limit size for the tone is about less than 1 kb.
I can not seem to find a setting on the phone to change the hangup tone. When I am on the phone and the other caller hangs up I hear a bunch of beeping tones. This is especially annoying when wearing a bluetooth headset.
Well i was just wondering if anybody knew how to change the today screen so that my calendar will display multiple events for different days. Such as if i have an appt on June 8 and then June 10 and then June 17 how can i make the display show all three appts? As well i was able to turn of the alert msg and sound when receiving a text however i can't seem to find how to turn it off when sending a text. Whenever i send a text my phone alerts me with a sound or vibrate (depending on mode I have it on) and a msg box saying the msg has been sent. How can I disable this?
As title suggests, there are two new software releases from beta labs, a new release for Nokia bots URL...And a new app for Video collection management and access, looks interesting URL...I find most Beta labs releases quite useful and at least worth giving a try
I just bought the new Nokia 5233 phone.Whenever the phone is locked and I set a alarm. There is no way i can stop the alaram other than to reset the alarm manually by alarms-> edit.
There will be two touch buttons that apper on the otuch screen. One to stop and other to snooze the alarm. Even If press them, it wont work. The alaram keeps ringing. I even tried clicking on the green button and the menu botton at the bottom. Still no use. I cant even unlock the phone. Only thing i can do is press the red button at the end, which will snooze the alarm. After this, I have to manually change the alarm time.
The same thing happens even with phone calls. I cannot use the touch button that apper on the touch screen. I have to use the green and red button at the bottom. These problem come into picture only if the phone is locked. Otherwise it works fine.
My 5230 has had the startup freeze problem twice. The first time, I figured it was a problem with the memory card or a specific program, so I did a phone reset and started over. The second time, I did some Googling and found I was not alone. I found people with all the S60v5 phones (5800, 5530, 5230, X6, N97, N97 Mini, etc) have the same problem: the phone will refuse to boot. It will freeze on the Nokia logo, before the handshake. Most users can work around the problem temporarily by ejecting the memory card before booting, but X6 users don't have that option, the poor souls.
It makes me mad to see the problem "solved" on forums by people reformatting their memory cards as if the problem was card corruption. That's not the problem. The problem, or problems, really, seem to be Nokia's.
The problem can definitely be triggered by: -Setting Nokia Messaging to store SMS/email data on the memory card. -Having more than about 40 apps/widgets on your memory card (exact limit unknown)
The problem has also been reported to be the result of: -Having apps on the memory card run at startup (Fring, etc) -Having shortcuts to apps on the memory card on the home screen
I have seen suggestions like, "just install everything onto the internal memory," but that is of course unrealistic, because if you have 40 apps on the card, there's no way they'd all fit on the internal memory. By the time I have my phone configured to my satisfaction, and I've carefully installed EVERYTHING to the memory card, I usually have only 10-15MB free on the internal memory.
The most realistic compromise, perhaps, is to do your best to: -remove apps you don't use -install small apps to the internal memory, large apps to the card -install home screen shortcut apps to the phone memory -install apps that startup on boot to the phone memory (Fring, Google Voice Search, etc)
Ultimately, this is too much of a burden for users, though, and Nokia really needs to fix this ASAP! Especially as the Ovi Store takes off and more people install more apps. I for one hope the problem becomes even more widespread, just so it embarrasses Nokia into doing something.
I hope this post helps someone, and hopefully it ties together the various pieces of information I've seen elsewhere, including other posts in this forum.
Any more specific tips would be helpful, such as: -how to tell which programs run at startup (in case they are not obvious like Fring) -a list of such known programs, besides Fring and Google Voice Search
I have seen a demo of the N97, and am thinking about buying it. However, before going ahead I wanted to make sure it is back compatible.
I used to own a 3230, and installed many free and paid softwares on it. Then Symbian pulled this very cunning trick to completely remove back compatibility - and I realized I made a mistake immediately after I bought the new phone. Most of the software vendors apologized for not providing support for the new phone, as I understood it was not at all a straight forward process to recompile the apps for the new version of OS. This required me to pay again for different versions of most of the softwares I had (and some very good of them could not unfortunately be replaced - like ControlFreak)
Now I own an N82, and again I find myself in the same position. This time however, I want to make an informed decision. Could someone please let me know if all S60v3 (FP1) softwares run on S60v5?
I just bought an 5530 phone. But I was very surprised that when my headphone accidentally disconnected from the phone the music got routed to the loudspeaker.I think the phone should have stopped the music, just as my 6131 did it earlier. Is there any setting where I can alter this behavior?
