BB Torch :: Increase The Transmitted Touch Tone Duration?
Aug 13, 2010
Got the Torch today only to find that the duration of the touch tone transmitted after call connection is incredible short. You hear the tone for the duration that you press the button (soft or hard keyboard) but the transmitted duration is only a few tenths of a second. AT&T says that RIM sez that the transmitted duration should be as long as you hold the button and to return the phone for another one but I am skeptical. With the short duration I am unable to control a remote access system. how to increase the transmitter tone duration?
Can I feel safe sending credit card numbers on my Xoom using a 3G connection? What about paying bills? I use a billpay service and would like to access it on my Xoom while away from home. Should I?Last week I was away from home and wanted to buy books from Barnes and Noble to read on my Xoom. They gladly took my credit card number but when I tried to enter a gift card number that I had received they said I had to wait until I could send it "from a desktop".
I have Experia Z3 and i face issue during a call, the screen transmitted directly to the black color, then i lost control of the calling and I can not end the call or transfer the calling through the speaker or use the number pad, i already formatted the device but the issue still not solved.
This is something I haven't run across before. I left work Friday phone was connected to our wifi no problem. Over the weekend the Bionic was on/off my home wifi without issue.
I come into the office this morning and wifi connects to the work wifi. The only data I get is LAN network so my exchange email and can access any device via my browser. It shows I have an IP address and everything but I can't get any data connection to the outside world unless I turn off wifi. So the wifi icon is on but it's grey instead of the blue like it should be.
I've cleared all my saved networks in my phone, pulled the battery, 4G sim. Only thing I haven't done is reset the phone. Going to test the wifi when I get home.
None of this makes sense why it connects to the APs, gets an IP and I can get internal LAN access but not external. I have other Android, iOS, laptops, etc all working fine.
When I try to increase the volume of the music by pressing the volume button it changes my song selection. When I insert the BB Torch into my belt holder and then try to increase the music volume it actually works. I tried calling customer support at AT&T and was told that I need to take my phone to the nearest AT&T store and have the BB software upgraded. Is there a fix for this issue? I am becoming frustrated with my purchase to the newest,"best" blackberry that RIM has ever sold. My opinion is that the device has fallen short of everyone's expectations and the lack of technical support leaves me feeling that RIM does not feel that they need to be held accountable for taking people's money for a product that fails to perform as they advertised. The product that I purchased fails to do all the things that I was believed it would do when I purchased it.
I am using a Torch: I am not able to able to get specific SMS tone for selected contacts working; have tried assigning on each individual contact in Contacts; have tried assigning on each contact using Tools (Sounds and Ring Tone); have tried assigning SMS tones using group of contacts in Tools (Sound and Tone; Contact Alert); for all these setting the SMS tone still goes back to the common tone assigned for the phone. My ringing tones for contacts work fine for different contacts, but not for SMS using the same method in the manual or as guided by the Tools menu.
I have a Torch 9850. I don't want to hear the keypad when I dial. How can I turn it off when I dial? I don't want to have to turn off the ringtone to do this.
I have a problem in changing the tone of the network notification.Whenever i send a text message , there would be a network notification from the service provider states how much money was deducted. That while its giving a tone which is annoying me often. so how do i mute it or where can i find setting to change the tone?I m using torch 9810.
So the 'Normal' profile of my 9700 (Phone) is set up to play ALWAYS simply because it is on my desk in the office, it is not in the holster, and I want to hear when it rings. I also have a ring tone that I downloaded (not the default).I noticed that when the phone is in the holster and it rings, as soon as I take it out from the holster the ring tonne changes from the one I set up to the default AT&T ring tone.
I had bought nokia 5230 recently. I have a problem in setting ring tone and message tone. When i trying to set ringing tone or message alert tone in the Profiles(General) it showing an error message as "Not enough memory to show all ringing tones. only tones in read only memory will be displayed". But my phone memory has 50.1 MB free space and My memory card has 1.2 GB memory space.
My touch screen stopped working only when the Torch is slid open. The track pad still works and can use the menu to navigate but what a pain. This started three days ago. Phone is 17 months old. Is this a setting?
I just noticed this today that when I'm playing a song on my phone, the volume buttons act as the media player as well switching to the next song. I would often try to increase or decrease the volume, and I realize I can't. I tried a battery pull hoping that would solve the issue. It's frustrating how a person can't hear music at all, and having no use of the volume buttons. I am still under my 30 day warranty, I'm considering taking it back and exchanging for a new one.
This is only the second time this has happened since I got the phone a few weeks back.I have all of my messages set to different specific ringtones. My SMS to one, my MMS to one, my email to one etc. So tonight I rcvd an email and instead of playing the tone it always plays that it is set for (one of the generic preloaded notifier tones)... it played my SMS tone (which is an actual song tone) to alert me to my email.
And NO I didnt recieve a new SMS at the same time. That folder is empty and the only red star alert was on my email envelope. Like I said this is very, very few and far between but why would this happen??I went over every one of my sound/alert settings and they are all the way they should be set for my liking.
I have assigned a song to my sms/message alert tone, but it plays the whole song when I get a message. How can I set it so that it only plays say 5 seconds of the song?
only the contact name and the time of call is this a call log!!! it's a joke how can i know the duration of each call and if i have one contact with more than one number how can i know which number he is calling from?there is another thing all phones have -in the contact setting- the option of showing only the name of contacts or showing the name with phone number but i can't find such options in this phone
I spoke with a T-mobile representative about an issue with my sensation where the notification light will blink for only 5 minutes after an sms or email arrives. Does anyone have a recommendation on how to work around this issue and is HTC considering changing their software to allow the duration to be customizable?
I really dislike the touch screen, I'm constantly correcting mis-touches. Is there a way to disable the touch screen and just use the touch pad to navigate?
I have used my torch for a long time now and it used to work perfectly, now the touch screen doesn't work at all, I have to use the track pad for everything. The pulling out battery doesn't work; and its not an option to take to my carrier since it is an Att device and my provider is Tmobile.
The touch screen of my Torch is failing. Sometimes it work but most of the time it's dead, sometimes I can just like on an item but not move the page. I rebooted, reloaded, redid everything I could but still to no result.
My torch touch screen is being weird. I works sometimes and others not. especially the bottom or top icons are not responding to touch at all. Is there a way to calibrate it? I dont understand what a hover time is or a tapinterval is and what it should be set at. I have only had this phone for 6 weeks and it has never been abusing, water logged etc...not sure what I should do?
