When I connect my Lumia 800 to my PC with USB, the touch screen response gets really jerky and slow. It seems that tracnsfer/sync with Zune software is OK, but trying to use the phone when connected is just about out of the question. Immediately when I disconnect the cable the touch screen is again as smooth as should be.

It might have been updating email but that shouldn't kill the battery like that. I don't use it that much during the day but it seems to go down really fast. I'm currently at 47% and it estimates 1 hour left....

View 17 Replies View RelatedI purchased my Lumia 610 about 2 weeks back, and I have not gotten a full day (24 hours) of work out of it yet. When charged to 100%, it shows 16-19 hours of battery life. My usage is typically around this:1 hour on the phone.15 minutes of Twitter. 15 minutes of browsing on 3G. No bluetooth/ WiFi/ Internet sharing on most days. Manual brightness setting. Battery Saver on. Dark backgroundLocation settings off. Email refresh after 1 hour. XBox signed out. I can't think of anything else I can do to reduce my power consumption. I'm using the firmware version 1066.0000.8779.12201, which according to my Customer care is the latest firmware version. Nokia claims a 720 hr standby time on 3G, which I am nowhere close to.
View 12 Replies View RelatedAfter last update my screen doesn't respond when I touch the right hand side of the screen. The only way to type text is in horizontal position. When I try to draw with Sketch app, there was a vertical line in the right side that don't respond on my touch and stays blank. I didn't drop the phone, glove mode is not on, e.t.c.

I have been playing around with my phone last night taking pictures (the low light pictures are amazing)and when I tried to unlock my phone this morning, nothing of touch input seems to react, even the buttons under the screen don't light up and do not respond on.

E.g. instead of swiping it selects item.Try it with lists or a webpage and you should notice that, if you have the same issues.

I was taking a shower; the Lumia 900 on the bathroom counter like I've always had my iPhone 3G. I got a call, dried off, used it, and the buttons on the phone became frozen and all touch input was no longer working. I finally soft reset the device by holding down the power button for 15 seconds (ignore the pull down to shut down tile, you can't drag it) and reset and it works again, but I am concerned. A little bit of humidity seems to have knocked it out, but it may be a coincidence.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince the OS update for the 920, the "display+touch" feature does not work properly. When I tap on it, the message "display+touch can't be opened. An app update may be available" is presented. I have attempted to update the app via QR but am presented with the message "share." I have done few soft resets but the problem persists. I have asked for help in other forums, but the issue remains. Is it possible that a future "display+touch" update may solve the problem? In lieu of that, can someone offer another suggestion? I would hate to do a hard reset and end up with a "bricked" phone.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a nokia lumia 800. But i have noticed a problem with the touch detection on the screen.
When i swipe (ex. for scrolling on the app list) then the phone some times detects the swipe as a tap, and then might open an app og an URL, or what ever is under my finger when it happens. This behavier is very random, and usually happens at the start of swiping (eg. detects me putting my finger on the screen and not lifting it again, but swiping, as a tap).
The audio quality in videos was very impressive after Cyan update which introduced surround sound option in video settings (Nokia Camera). However the GDR1 update seems to reduce the audio to mono on my phone. Compare your videos before and after GDR1 and see if there is a change in audio quality.

I was taking pictures and it simply stopped working.I've since tried resetting the camera options back to defaults with no luck. I recently updated the phones software pn 10.18.2012 with no change either. I also took out the battery and sim card out of frustration and obviously had no luck.

N8 no respone at all, even press menu button, or long press the on/off button on the top.Before this happens, my N8 opening dfault facebook app, whatsapp & Nimbuzz, with mobile data connection on. nokia lumia 1020 has just gone dead no response from the phone tried hard and soft reset nothing happens tried plugging in a charger into charger port on the phone and still nothing before it went off the phone had half battery life in it and was expreincing phone freezing up and the phone slowed down and now wont come on at all i have had the battery replaced and still no joy the phone shop tried to flash the software and no connectivity with computer also the phone shop checked my old battery with another lumia 1020 and that worked so the issue wasnt the battery
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought the new Nokia 5233 phone.Whenever the phone is locked and I set a alarm. There is no way i can stop the alaram other than to reset the alarm manually by alarms-> edit.
There will be two touch buttons that apper on the otuch screen. One to stop and other to snooze the alarm. Even If press them, it wont work. The alaram keeps ringing. I even tried clicking on the green button and the menu botton at the bottom. Still no use. I cant even unlock the phone. Only thing i can do is press the red button at the end, which will snooze the alarm. After this, I have to manually change the alarm time.
The same thing happens even with phone calls. I cannot use the touch button that apper on the touch screen. I have to use the green and red button at the bottom.These problem come into picture only if the phone is locked. Otherwise it works fine.
Just wondering, has anyone noticed that when you try to type fast (i.e. typing the letter 'ben' fast) the first two letters 'be' are registered, but the last letter 'n' is not?I havent updated to latest firmware (031.032 i think) cuz i read there are a lot of problems. not sure if it outweights current firmware.

Everything went just fine (after an software upgrade) but my smile went out when I was playing with gps signal: no more than 3-4 satellites, even on clear sky in the middle of the park (unsurrounded by buildings, trees or anything that may obstruct a gps signal). Being a new phone I thought it can be fixed by warranty but shock, they declinde any responsibility saying "It is nothing wrong with my phone so nothing to be fixed"...
View 5 Replies View Relatedive been dilligently updating my 5800 since i got it, ive not been happy with some of the updates like the stupid swipe alarm system (imho its stupid) and everything has generally been an improvement until i update to the latest version available to me on o2 in the uk,since then the phone has actually ran slower, ive needed to tap the screen more than once to get a response and sometimes during text entry i can only describe the phone as going mad thinking the screen is still being touched and entereing in letters or backspacing the entire block of text its a tad dissapointing to be honest, and re-calibrating the screen has made no improvement, one thing i admit to not trying yet is reinstalling the software but i wondered if anyone else had a similar problems since then as well

View 4 Replies View RelatedI would like to know what other users of the N900 think of the battery.I have only had a my device a few days and I can only get less than a day's use out of the battery.This is with the Wifi switched off (I mainly use the 3.5G). I do very little internet browsing. I just leave the phone on my desk, check my emails occasionally. Is this normal performance ? Does anyone get more than a day's use?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI wonder if anyone can clarify the following:- My N97 is due to have the complete back assembly replaced due to bad GPS reception (been on order for 4 weeks but due to be delivered this week). I have read on other forums that a piece of foam is also fitted at the same time which shields the GPS receiver from interference from the main circuit board? The NSC technician has not heard of the foam so has not ordered it. My question is :- does the N97 still need the foam or is this foam now incorporated within the new back assembly.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI bought a new n97 mini. Everything is working fine except the camera. The image looks foggy and blurred. Its not only with the camera pictures but also with the video recordings. When I do a half-press (focus), the preview looks decent but the picture taken is bad. Looks like a picture taken in a 1MP cam! I have tested some N97 mini's camera in some shops and I was impressed. Hence I brought it. But unfortunately it looks like a problem in my mobile!
Any help would be greatly appreciated. My main usage is Camera and its very frustrating to see images with such bad quality!
I have tried to listen to music using my N8 with headphones but even with volume set to max it is still very low. Am I doing something wrong or is the output on this phone?

Maybe I expect too much, but the N900's photo engine is complimented a lot.Here is a photo of better quality shooten with my n900:
