View 2 RepliesWhen I connect my Lumia 800 to my PC with USB, the touch screen response gets really jerky and slow. It seems that tracnsfer/sync with Zune software is OK, but trying to use the phone when connected is just about out of the question. Immediately when I disconnect the cable the touch screen is again as smooth as should be.

Now it hang all the way by showing camera icon at the middle, yet camera app does not lauch.
Firmware : Belle
Model : Nokia N8
What can i do to enable N8 back to normal?
After last update my screen doesn't respond when I touch the right hand side of the screen. The only way to type text is in horizontal position. When I try to draw with Sketch app, there was a vertical line in the right side that don't respond on my touch and stays blank. I didn't drop the phone, glove mode is not on, e.t.c.
See the image that I made using my Sketch app:
After a hard reset on 8.1 lost all audio. Not only is their no sound, when pressing a ringtone or play in Spotify there is no touch response to show the sound is "playing".
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy 5800 touch screen is not responding well like any touch screen should. Compared with my friend's phone and he said there is definite problem with touch. Now is this rectifiable? Or better to go for an exchange? I dont trust Nokia Care because my e72 is still with them for some error which they are not explaning properly. Poor customer service.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the N86 8MP, I can't fault the phone other than the ring tone problem that I have tried to live with from when I got the phone in December. I don't know if anybody else has had this problem or its just me, but when my phone rings the ring tone slows down like a broken record and then speeds up and slows down again. Whatever I chose to be my ring tone either one from the phone or one I have put on it, it still has this problem. The funny thing is you can play the songs or ring tone's and they play normaly its only when you set them as a ring tone does the problem occur.

My N97 touchscreen sometimes freezes when I get a call. I try to unlock the phone by using the keyguard key [coz the screen is frozen] but nothing happens. I also try the call buttons and they also don't respond.
And could Nokia, please, change the setting on the display light after a call in the next update. The screen goes dark after the call that you cannot see the call duration at the end of the call. Its highly annoying!!! [At least to me since I have to monitor my calls since I roam alot]I do have the latest version of the Nokia Software installed on the N97 and everything else is working fine.
my nokia n97 mini has just started vibrating every time i touch the screen, and it's driving me crazy!. I've checked that the touch screen vibration setting is off, and it is, and have tried turning it on and off again, and turning the phone off and on again. I've had the phone for a year and this problem has just begun in the last few days.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my N8 for a year and a week.Four days ago when I wanted to turn up my phone it kept loading for several minutes then the hands logo appeared but froze int the middle. After the hands logo froze the phone kept loading again for several minutes then the hands logo appeared again . I tried pressing the power off button for 8 seconds but the phone only turned off,and when I tried to start my phone it did the same. I send it to Nokia Care but they said they couldnt do anything because they probably think there is something wrong with the motherboard. I don't know what to do anymore.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf you encounter the thing that the Nokia N8 won't charge and worst, if the battery was drained and the N8 shutted down and won't charge or power on, try the following steps.
1. Connect the charger supplied with the N8 to other compatible Nokia phones, like E72 like I did.
2. Wait for the other device (E72) to start charging.
3. After it starts charging, remove the charger from it (E72).
4. Now, try to charge the N8 using the supplied charger that you used with the other device previously (E72).
5. Wait for the N8 to charge or start.
6. DONE!
Just upgraded to V40 on my 5800. Now when the phone rings I get 2 options on the touch screen:
1. Answer
2. Unlock
Neither work. I know I can use the buttons, but why have the other options on the screen if they don't work. What about the other options like silence or reject, or send message. All gone. The new version is **bleep**. Also, when I set an alarm, I can't silence it, or stop it using the touch screen. This all seems to happen when the phone is locked, but if the phone is unlocked, I get the older options.
I don't know how I'm expected to unlock my phone just before someone rings me to enable me to have all the existing options, or wake up before my alarm in order to unlock the phone, so I can snooze or stop it. can I revert back to V31?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an N97 and every day now the screen will stop responding to touch input. I think this is a hardware issue as I have always updated the firmware as soon as its released and I have the same problem no matter the firmware. Resetting and turning off/on again doesn't solve it. Just have to lock the screen and rub my thumb over the entire screen and it seems to start working again. Could part of the touch screen be getting stuck down?

I also got it checked up/repaired from the authorised Noke Care Centre. The problem still persists.. I may add that I have also reinstalled/update software from Net, but still the problem has not been solved.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have another annoying adventure with N8. It was turned off, charging via USB, then the morning alarm worked, i pressed "snooze", device froze with the message "Alarm snoozed for 5 minutes" on the screen.
It does not react on pressing the turn on/off button.
On any other phone I would just take off the battery. On a PDA I would use the little pinhole button to restart. Neither is possible with this "gorgeous" n8. It never freezes, aha.
So now it's morning, i need to go to work, and instead i'm trying to start the freaking phone. You're losing fans, Nokia. This is the most problematic smartphone i had.
I sent by N8 to a Nokia care point in October 2012 as the bottom piece that enters the battery compartment had broken in one corner and thought I'd better get it fixed before the warranty expired in November 2012. When it was returned I checked it turned on and reloaded some of the software, however I then requested an unlock code from orange UK and that was the end of that as I had already made my sim into a mini sim for my new Nokia 808. Although I have just received an unlock code from orange (another story altogether) however when I turned my phone on the battery was nearly depleted. When trying to charge it with the mini jack, the battery icon doesn't change to indicate it is charging, I have tried many different Nokia chargers with the mini jack and it does nothing. When I plug it into my laptop it recognizes it as a Nokia N8 and connects to Nokia suite OK, it then tries to charge showing the nokia logo, and dot sequence but then disappears and stops charging. I have also tried starting the charge on my 808 pureview USB charger and then plugging the charger back into the N8 to the same effect as plugging it into the laptop.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to find the reason why it keeps happening and I still can't find out why but i think the battery is not the main problem to it, I think it's the phone.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to charge it using my PC's USB port, the PC will try and identify it as a flash drive, but it will then bomb out - this is an endless cycle (the sound Windows makes when adding USB Flash drive and then removing it). Using different USB ports has the same result. I am not sure whether charging occurs, but after 10min or so I am still unable to switch the phone on.So I went to the device manager and I can see it reloading each time the N97 tries to register as a USB device. Then I went and looked at which port the N97 is connected to (open each USB root hub and look at the Power tab - ie refresh each time the new device found sound is played from Windows - the USB hub that will be connected to the phone will be indicated by "nokia usb flashing parent"). By disabling the applicable hub, the phone actually showed the Nokia logo on a white screen with the battery life indicator (non charging)when I then re-enabled the USB Root Hub, the display remained on the phone and it started charging.Without disabling the hub the phone would just continue to endlessly find and then discard the "flash drive".I was using Windows XP SP3.Nokia OVIsuite 2.2.0.241 I did manually terminate any Nokia processes prior to disabling the USB Root Hub (not sure how many tried to rerun again)finally it is charging again. Wasn't too keen on what happened, because I don't carry the charger with me when traveling abroad.
