i just got no where to go with my 5800 problem. I just got my phone more than a year ago and it's over the warranty. I love this phone so much but just recently, the touh screen is no longer detecting. I mean, sometimes it will but mostly it doesn't. Can you help me? What do i need to do? replace the screen or will this be fixed? i need your responce asap.

Or better to go for an exchange? I dont trust Nokia Care because my e72 is still with them for some error which they are not explaning properly. Poor customer service.

Neither work. I know I can use the buttons, but why have the other options on the screen if they don't work. What about the other options like silence or reject, or send message. All gone. The new version is **bleep**. Also, when I set an alarm, I can't silence it, or stop it using the touch screen. This all seems to happen when the phone is locked, but if the phone is unlocked, I get the older options.
I don't know how I'm expected to unlock my phone just before someone rings me to enable me to have all the existing options, or wake up before my alarm in order to unlock the phone, so I can snooze or stop it. can I revert back to V31?
My touchcreen on my phone isnt working, and all my contacts are stored on the phone and i cant access them, any way i can take them off the phone!
View 11 Replies View Relatedmy PC was able to connect to the internet with my 5800 via a USB cable.Now, I can no longer connect to the internet with the 5800 via a USB cable.I had never tried connecting the computer to the internet with the 5800 via Bluetooth prior to this incident, so I tried that.Strangely, it works.My question is how come I can no longer use the 5800 via USB as a modem, but how come the 5800 via Bluetooth still works as a working modem? I just feel better using the USB connection and knowing that my 5800 has a clean bill of health.BTW, my PC is on Windows 7 Professional at the moment.I've tried uninstalling the Ovi Suite and reinstalling it, but that didn't work.I've also tried using PC suite instead of the Ovi Suite but that didn't work either.What other options do I have, beside hard resetting the phone?BTW, the message shown when I tried to connect to the internet with the 5800 USB modem was "failed to establish a network connection".

I was taking pictures and it simply stopped working.I've since tried resetting the camera options back to defaults with no luck. I recently updated the phones software pn 10.18.2012 with no change either. I also took out the battery and sim card out of frustration and obviously had no luck.
View 2 Replies View RelatedCouldnt use touch screen at all suddenly today, I reinstalled the latest firmware update but it didnt help so did full reset and now Ive got the countries screen but can only scroll down 3 countries and cannot select any (select and cancel dont work) also the media bar keeps randomly flashing onto the screen. Anyone any idea what's causing this? It hasnt been dropped or anything, first I knew was I couldnt turn off the alarm this morning. I dont know how to go about getting it repaired as it was a competition prize in july 2009 and didnt come with any warranty documents.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the 5800 XpressMusic and a few days ago the touch screen stopped working properly.When the phone has been off for an hour or two everything works fine for the first couple of minutes, then it stops recognizing presses/unpresses and holds a lot. For this reason it sounds to me like a software fault but the guy in the local phone shop reckons the screen is pressed in and needs to be physically repaired.Any ideas?

I have updated my mobile 5800 xpressmusic firmware to V50.xx. After the update, whenever I receive calles, I am not able to answer the calls by touching the screen, when I get call, I am seeing 2 option in the screen

2. Unlock
if I touch the option "answer" it is not working, I need to unlock first then need to touch the "answer" to attend the call,can some one help me what could be the probem?
I have installed letest version of OVI suite and OVI player.I connected my phone to PC in 'Media Transfer' mode but OVI player is not able to detect my phone. Even when I connect my phone in 'PC Suite' mode, OVI suite is not able tranfer or read tarcks from my 5800. In PC suite mode I can use Windows Media Player 11 to transfer music. I have tried this on two different systems having Windows XP SP3 and Windows Vista Home Premium, but OVI player is not able to detect my phone.

So far pretty pleased with what I have figured out how to use but have run into a couple problems. Not sure if I have set up something wrong or if there may be something wrong with the phone. The first problem is the touch screen functions (i.e. answer, silence, options, reject) do not work when I get a call. So sometimes when I hit the "green" button if will connect, but sometimes it will hang up on whomever was calling. I am using AT&T as my provider. The second problem that I am having now is playing music. It used to work, but now it will not play any songs that I have loaded thorough Ovi program. Even the "back" function key is non-responsive, however, the "option" function key does work.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have touch screen issue with my Nokia 5800 after installing new 51.0.006 version.After instaling new FW system screen frequently goes black and strats again after 7-10 seconds. Ussually it happens when accessing my TXT messages or writing. I also formated memory card and cleard memory of the phone and installed new FW again but problem remains. When problem occures my phone screen goes black and comes back quickly. Network signal is also lost in the process. Phone has't been dropped when issue occured nor badly used. On my old FW 30 everything was working fine and I did not have this issue?

I have been experiencing several problemswith it recently; the first problem shown was that it would call my contactswithout my intention to do so and also without me touching the phone. Often it will send a text half way through me typing it and recentlyit has been switching off by itself.
I have also been experiencing the fuzzy screen due to the coldand this morning the phone's touch screen buttons would not respond however thetoolbar with the music, gallery, connectivity etc... on the right hand side of thescreen would pull down instead. Hello, just got a nokia 5800 and there seems to be two lines of stuck pixels or something near the bottom of the touch screen.These pixels make the display on that part of the screen off centred..I'm just wondering, is there anything I can do about this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had this phone for years and have got some important info on this phone and i really need it back working.So 2 days ago i dropped my phone from a tall building by accident and the screen is no longer working. When i dropped it the battery came out and nothing else. I put the battery back in and the screen worked for a little bit but there was horizontal lines going across the screen so i turned it off and turned it back on and now the screen shows nothing. The green, white and red lights work at the bottom and the sound works when i turn it on. Even when i tap the screen i can feel the phone vibrate a little as if to say ive selected my contacts for something but the screen is completely blank.

My N97 touchscreen sometimes freezes when I get a call. I try to unlock the phone by using the keyguard key [coz the screen is frozen] but nothing happens. I also try the call buttons and they also don't respond.
And could Nokia, please, change the setting on the display light after a call in the next update. The screen goes dark after the call that you cannot see the call duration at the end of the call. Its highly annoying!!! [At least to me since I have to monitor my calls since I roam alot]I do have the latest version of the Nokia Software installed on the N97 and everything else is working fine.
my nokia n97 mini has just started vibrating every time i touch the screen, and it's driving me crazy!. I've checked that the touch screen vibration setting is off, and it is, and have tried turning it on and off again, and turning the phone off and on again. I've had the phone for a year and this problem has just begun in the last few days.

I think this is a hardware issue as I have always updated the firmware as soon as its released and I have the same problem no matter the firmware. Resetting and turning off/on again doesn't solve it. Just have to lock the screen and rub my thumb over the entire screen and it seems to start working again. Could part of the touch screen be getting stuck down?
