Dec 29, 2012I've had this phone for years and have got some important info on this phone and i really need it back working.So 2 days ago i dropped my phone from a tall building by accident and the screen is no longer working. When i dropped it the battery came out and nothing else. I put the battery back in and the screen worked for a little bit but there was horizontal lines going across the screen so i turned it off and turned it back on and now the screen shows nothing. The green, white and red lights work at the bottom and the sound works when i turn it on. Even when i tap the screen i can feel the phone vibrate a little as if to say ive selected my contacts for something but the screen is completely blank.

Feb 19, 2010Just upgraded to V40 on my 5800. Now when the phone rings I get 2 options on the touch screen:
1. Answer
2. Unlock
Neither work. I know I can use the buttons, but why have the other options on the screen if they don't work. What about the other options like silence or reject, or send message. All gone. The new version is **bleep**. Also, when I set an alarm, I can't silence it, or stop it using the touch screen. This all seems to happen when the phone is locked, but if the phone is unlocked, I get the older options.
I don't know how I'm expected to unlock my phone just before someone rings me to enable me to have all the existing options, or wake up before my alarm in order to unlock the phone, so I can snooze or stop it. can I revert back to V31?

Feb 10, 2012I got a problem with my nokia 5800 screen, sometimes when my brightness is bellow 80% 2-3 flickering lines appear wherever I am ( home screen, watching a video, browser, call someone etc.). When brightness is at 80% its normal always (maybe of the high brightness I may not see the lines) However this is annoying and I want to know if I can do anything about it ! On top of that my phones shuts down suddenly on its own randomly! The phone is functioning well running app without any problem and watching videos !

I love this phone so much but just recently, the touh screen is no longer detecting. I mean, sometimes it will but mostly it doesn't. Can you help me? What do i need to do? replace the screen or will this be fixed? i need your responce asap.

Oct 24, 2011My camera has stopped working on my nokia 5800 press camera button and it just goes back to menu screen. Tried camera through apps does same thing and it does not show it open also. It will not play any videos just sound. I watch bbciplayer a lot on my phone and all I get is sound it just comes up and says unable to play video or sound but I can hear the sound. Just not see the video and also vidoes what I have took on my phone done soft and hard reset firmware update.

I guess it happened since I installed BestBlacklist free applications from ovi site. Then I uninstalled that application and even restored factory settings, but notifications didn't come back. At the same time notification lights and logs working OK. How can I make those home screen notifications back?

Jun 20, 2010I recently bought Nokia 7020 Flip phone and found this problem with primary display which is 2.2 inches. Problem is you cannot read out the screen when you tilt the screen even 30 degrees. Photos just look like as negatives when you tilt the phone to 60 degrees angle. You can see the correct display on the screen only when it is exactly in front of your face. Is this a problem with my phone or it the problem with Nokia 7020 Flip phone itself.
Nokia Dealer told me that Nokia has introduce LCD screen for this phone and not TFT screen as found in any other model of Nokia, hence this is a normal behavior. You will see the display correctly only when it is exactly in front of your face/eyes.
I cannot check with any other dealer as they do not have any demo model of the phone which I can operate. All are factory sealed and dealer refuse to open the box to get hands-on experience. Even he refused to take back this phone saying this is normal behavior with this model, when I told him that I want to return this phone for this screen display problem.
I still cannot believe that Nokia will introduce this type of screen in this newer model, where user will have to keep the screen in from of his/her eyes without tilting even 30 degrees to see the correct display on the screen.Whether Nokia is compromising on quality to reduce the cost? Could anyone please confirm on this behavior of Nokia 7020 flip screen.

Nov 30, 2011My 5800 touch screen is not responding well like any touch screen should. Compared with my friend's phone and he said there is definite problem with touch. Now is this rectifiable? Or better to go for an exchange? I dont trust Nokia Care because my e72 is still with them for some error which they are not explaning properly. Poor customer service.

Jun 30, 2010I am using Nokia 5800 Xpress Music which is updated to v5. My problem is the music player refreshes too long and doesn't detect tthe songs I have saved in my memory card. I have deleted some files in the 3 folders contained in the private folder to reset the library. After I have disconnected it from the computer I start the music player again. Then it refreshes to long again and did not detect any songs. What can I do? Is there any other way?

I can't even type a new message anymore, or can't receive one.My nokia n8 went to nokia than and came back friday with factory settings. Than the sms worked again fine.Today i reinstalled the back up i made with nokia suite before the nokia 8 was sent to nokia and after that sms stopped working again. What can i do to solve this ? Mar 14, 2012For some reason after upgrading to Belle I have lost the option to switch geo-tagging on in the camera settings. It is just not there where it used to be. I need this for work, that is why I got myself a camera phone with this option.
Anybody have this problem or am I just looking in the wrong place to switch it on / off? It used to be in the camera settings menu,now I have only: image quality - show captured image - default image name - capture tone - memory in use - restore camera settings.

Now I can not retrieve/send any email - I always get the message: "Unable to sign in. Try again.". I also tried and removed this particular account and added it once again (as a matter of fact I did this about 10 times!!!) but still no emails are shown. Apr 28, 2012I bought a used 5800, and yes, it is a old, 2,5 year old phone with latest software, works good. Only problem is that the vibration doesnt work. No matter is it on or off on profiles, it doesnt vibrate. And it doesnt vibrate even when i turn phone on, like my old 5230 did always vibrate when it boots up, my 5800 doesnt. What is wrong, why vibration doesnt work when someone calls or sends message, or not even vibrating in boot up, boots normally, no vibration.. Is the vibration function broken?
And my model is 5800d-1, is other models always too 5800d-1, or is my different and if yes, what is difference to other 5800's? This is a 2,5 year old Black and Red 5800. Using 52.0.007 firmware.

Feb 3, 2010Okay, I know what you're thinking...USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION! But I have and I have tried all the solutions I could find on google and here. I've tried turning it on with just the bat, bat/mem, bat/sim, etc charged my phone and what not and still nothing. It just won't turn on.I even tried hard resetting it but nothing works. When I press and hold the power button it just vibrates once and doesn't do anything. When I hook it up to the pc, it recognizes that there's a nokia phone there...I think...but it only does when you click and hold power and i vibrates.

Jan 30, 2012After recent upgrade to v 60.0.003, my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic does not seem to be working properly with my car bluetooth kit. It connects to the car kit alright, and the incoming call's ringtone is heard on the car kit and the call can also be accepted by pressing the green button on the car kit but the call voice (both mike and speaker) remains with the phone and does not come over the car stereo. If I look at the phone screen during the call, there is an option to activate the speaker but none to transfer the call to bluetooth device. I have tried fiddling with options in Accessories - > Car kit, as well as the bluetooth options, to no avail. Tried re-pairing but that didn;t help either.
