May 10, 2010I just noticed that I cannot tilt the screen anymore (when I hold it vertically screen doesn't adjust). What might be the problem? And how can I solve it?

Jun 20, 2010I recently bought Nokia 7020 Flip phone and found this problem with primary display which is 2.2 inches. Problem is you cannot read out the screen when you tilt the screen even 30 degrees. Photos just look like as negatives when you tilt the phone to 60 degrees angle. You can see the correct display on the screen only when it is exactly in front of your face. Is this a problem with my phone or it the problem with Nokia 7020 Flip phone itself.
Nokia Dealer told me that Nokia has introduce LCD screen for this phone and not TFT screen as found in any other model of Nokia, hence this is a normal behavior. You will see the display correctly only when it is exactly in front of your face/eyes.
I cannot check with any other dealer as they do not have any demo model of the phone which I can operate. All are factory sealed and dealer refuse to open the box to get hands-on experience. Even he refused to take back this phone saying this is normal behavior with this model, when I told him that I want to return this phone for this screen display problem.
I still cannot believe that Nokia will introduce this type of screen in this newer model, where user will have to keep the screen in from of his/her eyes without tilting even 30 degrees to see the correct display on the screen.Whether Nokia is compromising on quality to reduce the cost? Could anyone please confirm on this behavior of Nokia 7020 flip screen.
Nokia :: 5800 Music Player Wont Refresh Anymore
Jun 30, 2010I am using Nokia 5800 Xpress Music which is updated to v5. My problem is the music player refreshes too long and doesn't detect tthe songs I have saved in my memory card. I have deleted some files in the 3 folders contained in the private folder to reset the library. After I have disconnected it from the computer I start the music player again. Then it refreshes to long again and did not detect any songs. What can I do? Is there any other way?

Mar 6, 2010I want to set up my 5800 to work in the car as a music/navigation/handsfree device. I created a Car profile with ring volumes and other stuff set up just the way I want it. However, I cannot make the screen not to timeout and turn off. Basically, the automatic screen lock is deactivated and shouldn't get into way. When I plug the aux cable into the phone I select the Music Stand accessory which is the only one that has a Screen control setting. It is set to On, from the default Automatic. However, the screen goes black anyway, but the buttons stay lit.

i am a vodafone contract & i have sent it in for them to send to nokia for repair i have created post on this but i would to see if anyone else has had this same problem.
1st time in went for repair the tech couldn't find nothing wrong with it day after picking it up i went back in and showed the rep the same problem and that it hadn't been fixed. i only picked it up last thursday 22nd and its doing the above in the video the reason the dam thing went in twice already but the tech replaced the screen and something else.
they state they cant find this problem but you only have to leave the phone alone for a while for it to start doing it. once it's started you can press the lock key and if you go the main menu it will select any option but if you try to write a text nothing shows the letter is being pressed but no responce on screen. calls take a few extra secs to connect as well this phone has not been dropped or has had any water damage i take really good care of my phones but like my last 2 sony ericcson's they all died in 8 months of each other.
also since it's been back a 2nd time the alarm clock is 5mins slow and the battery dosn't even last more than 2 days and i dont make many calls but i text a few times.

Apr 8, 2010My phone has a bug, i try to set my home screen up so that the short cuts would show and my email notifications as well.. Instead i can set up my contact with the pictures, but not the installed shortcuts like music, web,etc... I am really fraustrated with this, as i have to keep going into applications to click on my email to retrieve my msgs and to play music as well..

Mar 21, 2010As nokia user for the last 10 years, I become the proud owner of a 5800 Express Music, which has been the best phone I have ever used. So good in fact that I am not interested in an upgrade to the X6!
The problem I have been having started rearing it's ugly head in September last year. I was not sure if it was down to the cold weather but the screen seemed to "melt". It happened once in a while but now happens everyday. I have updated my software regularly and done the back ups to the phone but there seems to be no change. I have to guess the where the buttons are when putting in my pin number or screen lock pin, or remove the battery in the hope it comes back to normal. Please see pics attached. Anyone else have the same problem?

Nokia :: 5800 /Touch Screen Not Working
Feb 8, 2010Couldnt use touch screen at all suddenly today, I reinstalled the latest firmware update but it didnt help so did full reset and now Ive got the countries screen but can only scroll down 3 countries and cannot select any (select and cancel dont work) also the media bar keeps randomly flashing onto the screen. Anyone any idea what's causing this? It hasnt been dropped or anything, first I knew was I couldnt turn off the alarm this morning. I dont know how to go about getting it repaired as it was a competition prize in july 2009 and didnt come with any warranty documents.

Jan 28, 2010I have the 5800 XpressMusic and a few days ago the touch screen stopped working properly.When the phone has been off for an hour or two everything works fine for the first couple of minutes, then it stops recognizing presses/unpresses and holds a lot. For this reason it sounds to me like a software fault but the guy in the local phone shop reckons the screen is pressed in and needs to be physically repaired.Any ideas?

May 18, 2010I recently bought a 5800 and it has a dead pixel on the screen. I was really looking forward to getting this phone and I am now quite disappointed (and disgusted by the service I was offered here in Malta!). I returned it to the shop where I bought it and was told that I have to have at least 5 dead pixels for me to be able to change it. Is this true?
It is still under guarantee as it hasn't even been a month since the date of purchase. They tried to feed me so much bull (including: the laws do not apply for Malta and that i had to go back within the first seven days EVEN THOUGH it clearly says on the guarantee that I have a 30-day period from the date of purchase to take it back).

Mar 17, 2010a couple of days ago,i began to realize that there were moving vertical lines across the screen.the lines are most visible when my light sensor(intensity) settings is set at 75%. it only came to my attention when i hard resetted my phone 2 days ago and the intensity settings was reverted to its default 75%(i've kept it customized at 25% until 2 days ago).the moving vertical lines are less visible in darker backgrounds and at a lower light intensity.i was just wondering-is this normal?

Dec 29, 2012I've had this phone for years and have got some important info on this phone and i really need it back working.So 2 days ago i dropped my phone from a tall building by accident and the screen is no longer working. When i dropped it the battery came out and nothing else. I put the battery back in and the screen worked for a little bit but there was horizontal lines going across the screen so i turned it off and turned it back on and now the screen shows nothing. The green, white and red lights work at the bottom and the sound works when i turn it on. Even when i tap the screen i can feel the phone vibrate a little as if to say ive selected my contacts for something but the screen is completely blank.

Mar 8, 2010Yestrday when i swtchd on my mobile nd i was shockd to see the inner screen cracked !!it niether fell nor hit anywhere hard.. but usualy i cary it in my jeans front pocket..no idea y such a small pressure caused it to crack. the front layer is fine...u wont notice the crack until the mobile is swtchd on..

Jan 22, 2010I just downloaded the latest version of Ovi Maps for my 5800. I've seen loads of articles which show a menu screen like the one below, but I don't get this. Why not?Also, if I try to bring up traffic information, it tells me that I need to pay for a licence. I thought this was all supposed to be free now. I have seen other Nokia phones and I am sure the phone must display the sender's name or number in the home screen as soon as the message arrives, but mine just says 1 New Message instead of 1 New Message from xyz. Feb 19, 2010Just upgraded to V40 on my 5800. Now when the phone rings I get 2 options on the touch screen:
1. Answer
2. Unlock
Neither work. I know I can use the buttons, but why have the other options on the screen if they don't work. What about the other options like silence or reject, or send message. All gone.
The new version is **bleep**.Also, when I set an alarm, I can't silence it, or stop it using the touch screen.This all seems to happen when the phone is locked, but if the phone is unlocked, I get the older options.I don't know how I'm expected to unlock my phone just before someone rings me to enable me to have all the existing options, or wake up before my alarm in order to unlock the phone, so I can snooze or stop it.

Jan 7, 2010It would take three weeks to fix some sensor in my phone that turns the display automatically when you turn the phone. Anyway this automatic turning is sometimes too eager to turn the display so I would like to turn it manually. I cannot find any feature which supports this. Only with photos there is such feature but not with sms, web surfing etc.
