If I try and switch an alarm off when it is rining, I am unable to do so using the touch screen.I have to press the red button, then go into the alarms and physically remove the alarm.This never happened with v30 (the last firmware I had)Why does this happen?How can I stop it from happening?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI want to set up my 5800 to work in the car as a music/navigation/handsfree device. I created a Car profile with ring volumes and other stuff set up just the way I want it. However, I cannot make the screen not to timeout and turn off. Basically, the automatic screen lock is deactivated and shouldn't get into way. When I plug the aux cable into the phone I select the Music Stand accessory which is the only one that has a Screen control setting. It is set to On, from the default Automatic. However, the screen goes black anyway, but the buttons stay lit.

Now is this rectifiable? Or better to go for an exchange? I dont trust Nokia Care because my e72 is still with them for some error which they are not explaning properly. Poor customer service.

View 5 Replies View RelatedCouldnt use touch screen at all suddenly today, I reinstalled the latest firmware update but it didnt help so did full reset and now Ive got the countries screen but can only scroll down 3 countries and cannot select any (select and cancel dont work) also the media bar keeps randomly flashing onto the screen. Anyone any idea what's causing this? It hasnt been dropped or anything, first I knew was I couldnt turn off the alarm this morning. I dont know how to go about getting it repaired as it was a competition prize in july 2009 and didnt come with any warranty documents.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the 5800 XpressMusic and a few days ago the touch screen stopped working properly.When the phone has been off for an hour or two everything works fine for the first couple of minutes, then it stops recognizing presses/unpresses and holds a lot. For this reason it sounds to me like a software fault but the guy in the local phone shop reckons the screen is pressed in and needs to be physically repaired.Any ideas?

if I touch the option "answer" it is not working, I need to unlock first then need to touch the "answer" to attend the call,can some one help me what could be the probem?
I just bought a 5800 Xpressmusic and am going through the learning phase of how to use this phone. So far pretty pleased with what I have figured out how to use but have run into a couple problems. Not sure if I have set up something wrong or if there may be something wrong with the phone. The first problem is the touch screen functions (i.e. answer, silence, options, reject) do not work when I get a call. So sometimes when I hit the "green" button if will connect, but sometimes it will hang up on whomever was calling. I am using AT&T as my provider. The second problem that I am having now is playing music. It used to work, but now it will not play any songs that I have loaded thorough Ovi program. Even the "back" function key is non-responsive, however, the "option" function key does work.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy Nokia 5800 was dropped on the floor from a distance .. within few days whenever i receive a call .. i touch the green arrow to answer the call but its like i'm not doing anything , it works only if i pressed the keylock from the side, and when i make a call i can't use call option if only i pressed the keylock from the side .. its like my nokia doesn't know that i'm here and touching the screen if i only pressed the keylock from the side .. everything work good after doing that .. just the problem appears when i receive a call, make call, stopping the alarm .. they all want me to press the side keylock then i can start working.. i need help because its confusing me.i've been told to turn the sensor setting on, remove the memory , reset , upgrade , but nothing solve the issue , i'm waiting your replay guys.

i just got no where to go with my 5800 problem. I just got my phone more than a year ago and it's over the warranty. I love this phone so much but just recently, the touh screen is no longer detecting. I mean, sometimes it will but mostly it doesn't. Can you help me? View 4 Replies View RelatedI have touch screen issue with my Nokia 5800 after installing new 51.0.006 version.After instaling new FW system screen frequently goes black and strats again after 7-10 seconds. Ussually it happens when accessing my TXT messages or writing. I also formated memory card and cleard memory of the phone and installed new FW again but problem remains. When problem occures my phone screen goes black and comes back quickly. Network signal is also lost in the process. Phone has't been dropped when issue occured nor badly used. On my old FW 30 everything was working fine and I did not have this issue?

I have been experiencing several problemswith it recently; the first problem shown was that it would call my contactswithout my intention to do so and also without me touching the phone. Often it will send a text half way through me typing it and recentlyit has been switching off by itself.
I have also been experiencing the fuzzy screen due to the coldand this morning the phone's touch screen buttons would not respond however thetoolbar with the music, gallery, connectivity etc... on the right hand side of thescreen would pull down instead. The phone has been dropped a few times, however I do not thinkthis contributes to the faults. Could the phone be repaired as it is still underwarranty or will they not accept it?
Hello, just got a nokia 5800 and there seems to be two lines of stuck pixels or something near the bottom of the touch screen.These pixels make the display on that part of the screen off centred..I'm just wondering, is there anything I can do about this?

Anyway this automatic turning is sometimes too eager to turn the display so I would like to turn it manually. I cannot find any feature which supports this. When I go to set the alarm time, it brings up the numeric keypad on the touchscreen. But, the alarm time consists of three parts: hours, minutes and am/pm. When I move to the am/pm field, I can't see any way of changing the am (default setting) to pm, as I have only the numeric keypad available.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter doing the update to v40 my alarm does not work properly (on both my 5800's), when the alarm goes off and the stupid orange and red bars come up saying snooz and stop they do nothing ! I hit them and the alarm just keeps going and going, I have to hit the red menu button and it goes to snooz mode, is there a way to revert back to v31 as I really do not like this newer v40 firmware.

When a calendar event alarm surfaces on the touchscreen (new buttons in this firmware), if the keypad is locked, the touchscreen is unresponive when attempting to hit the STOP or SNOOZE button. Strangely, the calendar alarm recurs with the normal touchscreen message (old firmware) subsequently and is responsive to the buttons (despite a keypad lock). Please advise how I can eliminate one of the two repeat calendar alarms or make the new calendar alarm responsive to touch when my keypad is locked. I try to unlock the keypad and it does not work during this time.

My problem is that I carry my phone in my front pocket and sometimes when the alarm notice goes off, I take the phone out of my pocket and the window to turn off the alarm is no longer there. Taking the phone out of my pocket somehow removed the alarm window. I can't figure out how to turn off the alarm except to turn completely turn the whole phone off then turn it back on again (which takes a long time because it has to go through the whole boot process.
Does anyone know how to turn of a scheduled alarm when the alarm window is no longer on the screen?
Since I can't reboot with memory card, my main screen is completely wrong, I can't see my four shortcut icons (I can see only hover icon), green (last calls) and red buttons doesn't work, two bottom icons (num keyboard and contacts) doesn't work too. So if I want to insert hard reset code, I canīt. Restart without memory card and SIM card, shut down-power up and restore factory settings canīt solve my problem.
