I, like many others, anticipate the v41 firmware to eventually be released to UK users over coming weeks. When it does before I upgrade I'd like to know one thing from users who have already upgraded -
Can the alarm still be "snoozed" by placing the handset face down on a surface, or is it now only possible to snooze it by swpiing a finger across the screen?
I think I've discovered a small but annoying bug when trying to add a to do note with an alarm on my 5800. When I go to set the alarm time, it brings up the numeric keypad on the touchscreen. But, the alarm time consists of three parts: hours, minutes and am/pm. When I move to the am/pm field, I can't see any way of changing the am (default setting) to pm, as I have only the numeric keypad available.
After doing the update to v40 my alarm does not work properly (on both my 5800's), when the alarm goes off and the stupid orange and red bars come up saying snooz and stop they do nothing ! I hit them and the alarm just keeps going and going, I have to hit the red menu button and it goes to snooz mode, is there a way to revert back to v31 as I really do not like this newer v40 firmware.
Since I installed this update when an alarm goes off I can't turn it off. The fancy new Stop/Snooze buttons displayed (which pulse from left to right) when the alarm goes off don't respond to touch. I have tried a hardware reset, no improvement. I really am a symbian fan but this phone is much more buggy than it should be. Each new update seems to add new bugs as well as fixes. For example, I have also, with this update, lost the 'alphanumeric' option for typing this text
If I try and switch an alarm off when it is rining, I am unable to do so using the touch screen.I have to press the red button, then go into the alarms and physically remove the alarm. This never happened with v30 (the last firmware I had)How can I stop it from happening?
I have just updated my 5800 software via the updater After update I have problems - anyone else also have these problems?in messaging the old software would capitalise on each new line the new software will not however if I make a space and then backspace then the line capitalises also if I go out of editing then come back to editing the new will capitalise .ALSO Problem with the alarn. When the alarm goes off I am unable to use the touch screen to stop or snooze anf the stop button does not work. I can only snooze till the third snooze when only stop is available.

I upgraded my Nokia 5800 to the latest firmware (US: 40.2.005). I'm not sure I like this new firmware. When a calendar event alarm surfaces on the touchscreen (new buttons in this firmware), if the keypad is locked, the touchscreen is unresponive when attempting to hit the STOP or SNOOZE button. Strangely, the calendar alarm recurs with the normal touchscreen message (old firmware) subsequently and is responsive to the buttons (despite a keypad lock). Please advise how I can eliminate one of the two repeat calendar alarms or make the new calendar alarm responsive to touch when my keypad is locked. I try to unlock the keypad and it does not work during this time.
Lumia 900 failed to wake me up this morning. The alarm just did not sound at all.
- Alarm was set and was shown to be in use. Even the Icon in the start screen was shown - Tried multiple times afterwards setting the existing alarm a few minutes forward. None of the attempts alarmed.
How I set the alarm is that I always edit the existing alarm, edit the time and push the alarm on.When I tried creating a new alarm (a few minutes forward), that ringed ok. But the existing alarm failed to ring
I'm comparing to my 5530, On the contacts bar it nicely blends into the back ground, on the 5800 is a dirty oversized white block with the contact in the middle, no blending in or anything, same on the email, a horrible big white square, nothing blended in, I've tried different themes, and reflashed but no good.
Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong here? Sometimes (about 1 day a week), I'll set my alarm, but it will not go off. When I look at the phone, it'll have the pop-up indicator thing saying "DISMISS" or "off" (can't remember exactly what it says), that indicates that the alarm was triggered, but it doesn't actually make the alarm sound.Any ideas why this may be happening? I am 100% sure the alarm is set to the right time, and the AM/PM is correct, and the phone is not on "Silent", but the alarm won't actually ring? It doesn't do it all the time, but maybe only once every 7-10 times I set the alarm, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why. This is a big problem for me because I don't have a regular alarm clock, and I use it to wake me up for work. Twice this month I have been late for work because my alarm didn't go off.Can anyone out there possibly help me diagnose this problem? I think my boss thinks that I'm lying to him when I tell him my alarm doesn't go off, and it's really becoming a problem.
It seems on Nokia E71, the alarm settings are lost when an alarm is activated while the mobile is turned off.The sequence which i followed was.# set an alarm with time = current time + 5 mins# switched off the mobile# When the alarm time reaches the alarm goes on and asks "if we want to turn on the phone"; select 'no'.[My opinion is that at this stage it should just inform the user that the phone is switched off, rather than giving an option to turn on the phone.]# turn on the phone and go to Menu_office_clock and check the previous alarm settings. All of them would be deleted. I saw the same error in E72 and E63.
am completely new here and completely new to the smart phone. It's just that all my other Sony phones, the alarm worked (and calendar reminder) when the phone was switched off, to wake me up ect. Is there a way to activate this so that it will work, or does the phone have to be switched on to use this facility
I just bought Nokia 5800 in America. I'm originally from the middle east and I need to write in Arabic when I chat or send messages. the problem here is that the phone reads Arabic but I can't write in Arabic. my question is "Could I use firmware of Nokia 5800 (RM-356) on Nokia 5800 (RM-428)?
If not, could anyone help me and get me the firmware that support writing in Arabic?
Whenever I set a reminder for an event (meeting, to do etc) and was not there to turn off or set to snooze when the alarm goes off, the phone stops vibrating. The light continues to blink, but no matter what buttons I press or press and hold, even the power button, the light continues to blink and the phone hangs. The only way is to remove the battery and restart the phone.
Is this a bug in the phone? I've never had such problems with previous Nokia phones. With the previous phones, once the user forgets to turn off the reminder alarm or set it to snooze, after a minute or so, the phone stops vibrating and blinking and the message hides in the background.
Alarm freezing their phone. It has happened 3 times now since I updated to Belle. I have to do the 8 second power button routine to boot the phone. When I boots up the alarm will immediately start sounding. Not good when I rely on it to wake me for work.
Since I installed the maemo update, my alarm clock is not working anymore. well, it's working, but it doesn't make any sound. I tried to change almost all possible settings concerning sounds on the phone, but it still doesn't make any sound.Does anyone else have this problem? Or a solution?
I'm solving little bit annoying alarm feature in my phone. Imagine that you have alarm set as DAILY at 6 in the morning. In the morning I snooze the alarm after first ringing by sliding the bar snooze. In alarm settings, there is a comment that alarm is "delayed to 6:10" (because of my 10minute setting). The question is, how to remove this snoozed alarm without waiting to 6:10 ? If you choose deactivate alarm, then you have absolutely deactivated your daily alarm, after activating back it is still snoozed to 6:10. The only option is
a) wait until it starts ringing and choose STOP
b) delete snoozed alarm and set the new alarm with 6:00 and daily repeating
Does anyone know how to solve this problem??? How to quickly say to alarm: Cancel snoozing mode and turn back into normal settings ?
In my 2330c when I add a reminder there's no alarm. It just blinks. What is the use of reminder without a sound? That's an obvious bug in the software. Please fix the reminders so they produce sound. When you fix this problem please make it possible to change the alarm sound, so we aren't stuck with always the same irritating reminder sound (like in some previous Nokia models).
When I set the alarm clock on my new 2700 classic, it does not sound or vibrate in the morning, and the alarm bell symbol indicating that the alarm clock is set has disappeared? My dad has the same problem with his Nokia, it may be the 3610 fold but I am not sure. We have both had many Nokias before and never had problems with the alarm clocks.I searched the discussion boards for similar topics but found no threads?
I cannot seem to find a setting to adjust the volume of the tone that the alarm clock makes. The alarm volume is very soft and not loud at all. It doesn't wake me up.Could someone please show me how to adjust the volume of the alarm clock? Please?
I recently purchased the 5230.I set quite a few alarms, and need to silence them without taking the 5230 out of my pocket or out of the carrying pouch and swiping the face or rotating it. Most other phones allow you to hit a button on the side to silence it. It is annoying in a meeting when I can't silence the alarm quickly.Does anyone know of any apps out there that would allow me to stop the alarm using the easily accessible volume button? Also, if you know of any apps that would give me more user controls. For example, I would love to be able to lock the camera button until I unlock it with a menu item.I gave up my old phone because of this alarm silencing issue. I may have to do the same with the 5230. I have 90 days to turn it back in to Costco.
Had my phone about a month and have had the slide to answer or reject calls and also the slider for turning my alarm off or snooze, but have just noticed that i have dull buttons to press now, any one know how i can get my slide back, did kinda like it!!!
Other than this one bug, the E5-00 is awesome! BUT: No matter what alarm sound I set, it is always VERY loud! I can hear it 2 rooms across... Even if I manually edit an mp3 file for it to be a lower volume, my E5-00 automatically makes it the same loudness...
Why is it that the alarm volume does not change if you change the phone volume setting on the 1-30 scale. The alarm volume level is insanely loud, and s always the same whether you phone volume setting is on 1 or 30.
It would be very nice if the volume of the alarm could be changed as well as currently it scares the s..t out of me every morning when it goes off.
I have a black nokia lumia 800. The firmware version in 1600.2483.8107.11501 (still waiting for 12070 one). Battery is ok, sound quality is horrible, but my real problem is the alarm clock - it just doesn't work! I rely on my phone to wake me up for work and it doesn't do the job. I've tried renaming the alarm, setting it to repeat on couple of days or just one time and it doesn't go off. The alarm worked perfectly on my HTC HD7 (the sound quality was also great on this device), but since I've switched to lumia I have to put up with more and more problems
There must be some bug with the low battery alarm on Nokia 700. When the phone is on a long call, it just shuts down without any alarm at all. I had this issue several times. My battery shows that it's full for about 30% or something. Then I call and have a long conversation. And the phone just dies without any alarm at all. When I try to start it again it seems that battery is drained and I have to charge it to turn it on again. When the phone is in standby and battery is starting to running low, it beeps and shows a message. However, when I am on the call, nothings is happening, it doesn't give me a message that battery is low and that it's time to connect to the charger. [code]
1. How can I set multiple alarm on nokia x3-02,not just one alarm? 2: How to see all call duration about one number (it shows me just last time of call, how can I see preveous
