Eseries / Communicators :: Loosing All Alarm Settings On Alarm During Powerof?
Apr 4, 2011
It seems on Nokia E71, the alarm settings are lost when an alarm is activated while the mobile is turned off.The sequence which i followed was.# set an alarm with time = current time + 5 mins# switched off the mobile# When the alarm time reaches the alarm goes on and asks "if we want to turn on the phone"; select 'no'.[My opinion is that at this stage it should just inform the user that the phone is switched off, rather than giving an option to turn on the phone.]# turn on the phone and go to Menu_office_clock and check the previous alarm settings. All of them would be deleted. I saw the same error in E72 and E63.
I live in th UAE and want to use the alarm function on the phone to wake me up in the morning..
I have noticed that you can set the alarm to be repeated wither Daily, Weekly or on Workdays. The E7 recognises work days as Monday to Friday, however in the UAE workdays are Sunday to Thursday.
Is there anyway of chaning the Workdays option so the alarm goes off on the correct days?
I have tried, and failed, to find this function, on previous Nokia models, it has been in the General part of settings under date and time, but not on the E5. There is a clock alarm tone setting and a snooze time setting, but no way, that I can see, of setting the alarm time
Other than this one bug, the E5-00 is awesome! BUT: No matter what alarm sound I set, it is always VERY loud! I can hear it 2 rooms across... Even if I manually edit an mp3 file for it to be a lower volume, my E5-00 automatically makes it the same loudness...
1) Searching all over, there doesn't seem to be a basic alarm feature. I can create calendar a specific calendar event but that seems like overkill if I just want the phone to wake me up from a short nap.
2) The documentation says to press the Shift key twice to switch between uppercase & lowercase. This seems to work everywhere but at the begining of a line. Why the special case?
I've had my E72 since July '10 and everything's been fine, but recently something rather odd happened. I don't know whether it would be connected to the problem in the title of this thread, but I woke up yesterday - after leaving my phone on, as I always do, and it was pretty much fully charged - and the battery was drained, and my recently dialled/received calls had disappeared. As strange as that was, I dealt with it because it wasn't a huge deal. However, I have since discovered something else.
I changed my alarm ringtone from one of the many ones I have manually put on my phone to off, so I would just be woken by a vibration. Upon trying to put it back to my custom tone, as I have done hundreds of times, I've discovered that all of the songs that I've manually put on my phone don't come up on the list of ringtones available for my alarm, which I find odd. Only the default/preset ones are available.
I quite liked my alarm tone, it was the song used to wake up the characters in Inception!
Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong here? Sometimes (about 1 day a week), I'll set my alarm, but it will not go off. When I look at the phone, it'll have the pop-up indicator thing saying "DISMISS" or "off" (can't remember exactly what it says), that indicates that the alarm was triggered, but it doesn't actually make the alarm sound.Any ideas why this may be happening? I am 100% sure the alarm is set to the right time, and the AM/PM is correct, and the phone is not on "Silent", but the alarm won't actually ring? It doesn't do it all the time, but maybe only once every 7-10 times I set the alarm, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why. This is a big problem for me because I don't have a regular alarm clock, and I use it to wake me up for work. Twice this month I have been late for work because my alarm didn't go off.Can anyone out there possibly help me diagnose this problem? I think my boss thinks that I'm lying to him when I tell him my alarm doesn't go off, and it's really becoming a problem.
Lumia 900 failed to wake me up this morning. The alarm just did not sound at all.
- Alarm was set and was shown to be in use. Even the Icon in the start screen was shown - Tried multiple times afterwards setting the existing alarm a few minutes forward. None of the attempts alarmed.
How I set the alarm is that I always edit the existing alarm, edit the time and push the alarm on.When I tried creating a new alarm (a few minutes forward), that ringed ok. But the existing alarm failed to ring
am completely new here and completely new to the smart phone. It's just that all my other Sony phones, the alarm worked (and calendar reminder) when the phone was switched off, to wake me up ect. Is there a way to activate this so that it will work, or does the phone have to be switched on to use this facility
My E7 worked fine untill a few weeks ago it started to loose 3G internet connection regularly. I have set the settings in the way that it should be always connected, but most of the time you can see the symbol of two broken arrows instead of two intact arrows.
After reinstalling my E72-1 FW 051.018, Your mobile Phone : is showing N73 (this I notice when logged into OVI Store on desktop). So lot of applications are not displayed in OVI Store when I looged from my mobile. (Reason is its displaying content for N73 not for E72) I tried changing your Mobile to E72 in ovistore by logging from desktop. Still No use , I still see the content of N73 only in my mobile Ovi Store.. So I am missing lot of content, + I could not install lot of purchased applications from ovi store?
Recently I bought a E5. I tried almost all of it's abilities and was successful but I couldn't send a file to the printer. I'm using my office's WLAN and my settings for printer are as below:
Printer name: Printer1 Driver: General Bearer: LPR Access point: "name of WLAN" Host: " IP Address of computer that printer is connected to it" User: "The name of computer that printer is connected to it" Queue hp laserjet 1010 (the name of printer) Orientation: Portrait Paper Size: A4
I'm running sw 022.014 anna with the first service pack from sw updater.
I wanted to check my email account settings to make sure that they're valid since my emails are not going through. This is what I get:
I go to the E-mail-Settings-My Inbox-Account settings. I get settings for mail address, pw, mailbox name, signature info, name, read status and limits.
Where can I check for SMTP server settings like server name, port and ancryption?
When I was arranging my homescreens a message popped up saying there was a critical error. All of the 3 homescreens were set back automatically to the factory settings.
I'm trying to configure VPN Settings for Nokia E72 with NCT 6.3. I've tried with two different PC's and I suffer the same problem: I can't import the current phone's settings, and I can't send a new profile either. I've also tried with a USB cable and Bluetooth connection. It takes a long, long time with a message on screen: "Importing Setting" until I cancel it. "Edit Online" doesn't work either. I've updated the phone to version 081.003.31005.
E7-00 - simply perfect! - some different tech. aspects on my PC and my network environment doesn't allow the installation of OVI-Suite - I tried it, but without success. I'm able to arrange everything without OVI-Suite on the PC, contacts, mails, calendar and synch, just all I need using OVI on the web.
-> how I can backup/restore my phone settings direct to/from the USB accessible partition on the phone?
I've only just discovered the E63 and purchased one. The phone seems pretty nifty, not that I need all those bells and whistles. I'm having a problem with the MMS, GPRS / WAP settings for Optus Prepaid. When I popped in my sim card when first turning the phone on, I was automatically sent these 'settings'. I was able to find my way onto the Ovi store and downloaded a few themes, so it must have been working. Now, it won't connect at all, less than two days later.
I've been exploring the phone, but I haven't fiddled with any of the internet settings, nor MMS. I've contacted Optus and awaiting a reply, and have been onto the Zoo website to send myself the settings, but the phone won't recognise them and the settings pop up as a text message that the phone is telling me I cannot open, and there is no option to save them.
My E52 won't let me connect it to my FritzBox as a Voip phone. Making an SIP Protocol works fine and the connection gets established, but I don't get the additional configuration options that "SIP_VoIP_3_x_Settings_v2_0_en.sis" is said to provide, so I can't complete the configuration.
My beloved N900 dropped its USB connector, so I made a backup on the microSD card and took the phone to repair. I got an E7 in return. Now, I want my calendar, address book, and other things restored on the E7. My linux laptop can read the SD card. What should I do?
I'm rather surprised that the E7 doesn't have a memory card slot. Is Nokia adopting all of Apple's mistakes?
If absolutely necessary I have access to a Windows computer after a week, but I wouldn't like to be without my address book until then. So I'm willing to try even hackish things.
I have a nokia E66. I recently bought a N series and stopped using it for like two weeks. when i went to back to using it, it went offline and has refused to accept my sim card. anytime i try to change the profil from offline to general it sats insert sim card. i have also reset to factory settings with no success. any one who can assist?
Our email system allows IMAP connections from mobile devices. It uses secure IMAP and SMTP ports and expects the password to be transmitted in clear text (over the SSL connection).I have been able to access my mail with IMAP using both an E52 and a 5800 with the default installed email application, but I am unable to send mail via SMTP as the password is being transmitted in an incompatible format. Is there an alternative email application that will allow me to fine tune password transmission?
I have a Nokia E63. My little brother has accidental reset the phone. I have lost all my previous settings, contacts and messages. How do I get back my old settings, contacts and messages?I do not have a back up.
I'm trying to delete the trial version of Kaspersky Mobile Security from my E71. The message I'm getting after starting the deletion process from the application manager is: "Before uninstalling KMS 9.0, disable Encryption and Privacy Protection."where on Earth do I do these seemingly simple tasks? I have not been able to do either task and I have a feeling it is a ridiculously simple process. I'm admittedly new to Nokia E71 smartphones and fully understand this is blatant operator failure on my end. I seem to be getting in a loop on the FAQ and other means of resolution.
The manual and the website both say "The device settings, such as Network mode and the screen saver, are optimized. When you activate power saving. What does this mean in plain English? Optimized how?
I've tried doing a hard reset but I can't seem to get rid of the T-Mobile branding rubbish from my E72. Things like the T-Mobile welcome animation when you switch it on and their horrible pink theme. (I can change the theme but I want to be rid of it...) I would also like the web browser to take notice of the home page I've set - at the moment it goes to T-Mobile's web offering no matter what I set it to.
In my New Nokia E72 White Edition Advanced VoIP Settings option missing.Control Panel< Connectivity<Net Setting< Download< ?In net setting folder only Download is show and when open Download -Refresh two item show,1 Chat 2 Microsoft Commun. And how to make SIP Profile to make Internet call.I have Nokia E72 and Nokia C7 Astound.I am wating for solution
I have Sprint's LG G3. I use the stock alarm to wake me up in the morning for work. I set it to sound off for 6 am M-F. I dismiss the alarm every morning. But later in the afternoon it sounds off even though there is no alarm set for that time. When I disarm the alarm I have set then it doesn't give me a problem. But as long as it is set it goes off twice, once in the m morning at the correct time and once more in the afternoon on they middle of my work day.
