With the almost over-sensitive touch screen interface there is a constant danger of hitting a function by accident, therefore one must have the screen locked at all times. However, it would be important to see the home screen or the running application. I need to see the screen, with or without backlight, not a clock display or blank screen. With S60 this was no problem, that's why I have an E72 for backup and SSH use. The E7 would be a better phone for this, if only it would show the contents of the screen while being screenlocked.

View 1 Replies View Relatedive set ip all up and its working fine. however I kind of changed the network mode settings to be GSM from Dual Mode under connectivity to reduce my battery usage in power saving i cant access internet while deactivating this option Im able to.I wish I can change it back at the same time use power saving mode. what do I do it keeps on changing back to GSM when I activate power saving mode?

Things like the T-Mobile welcome animation when you switch it on and their horrible pink theme. (I can change the theme but I want to be rid of it...) I would also like the web browser to take notice of the home page I've set - at the moment it goes to T-Mobile's web offering no matter what I set it to.

I'm using E72, i've problem of NO NETWORK COVERAGE as when i'm talking in phone with somebody, suddenly i can't hear the voice but still it shows as in connection there and later it shows as no network coverage and cut the connection. now it happns normally and i don't know whether its the coverage problem or phone problem

I go to the E-mail-Settings-My Inbox-Account settings. I get settings for mail address, pw, mailbox name, signature info, name, read status and limits.
Where can I check for SMTP server settings like server name, port and ancryption?

I've tried with two different PC's and I suffer the same problem: I can't import the current phone's settings, and I can't send a new profile either. I've also tried with a USB cable and Bluetooth connection. It takes a long, long time with a message on screen: "Importing Setting" until I cancel it. "Edit Online" doesn't work either. I've only just discovered the E63 and purchased one. The phone seems pretty nifty, not that I need all those bells and whistles. I'm having a problem with the MMS, GPRS / WAP settings for Optus Prepaid. When I popped in my sim card when first turning the phone on, I was automatically sent these 'settings'. I was able to find my way onto the Ovi store and downloaded a few themes, so it must have been working. Now, it won't connect at all, less than two days later.
I've been exploring the phone, but I haven't fiddled with any of the internet settings, nor MMS. I've contacted Optus and awaiting a reply, and have been onto the Zoo website to send myself the settings, but the phone won't recognise them and the settings pop up as a text message that the phone is telling me I cannot open, and there is no option to save them.
I live in th UAE and want to use the alarm function on the phone to wake me up in the morning..
I have noticed that you can set the alarm to be repeated wither Daily, Weekly or on Workdays. The E7 recognises work days as Monday to Friday, however in the UAE workdays are Sunday to Thursday.
Is there anyway of chaning the Workdays option so the alarm goes off on the correct days?
i have E71x and i am able to download 2go and installation is not a problem, But the major problem is that is not able to connect to network after installation. What can i do ?

When I'm using it, surfing etc, everything works slighty, but when I put it on table, and phone go standby, than network disappear, and phone restart. If I don't touch phone it just keeps restarting after first standby. I notice that phone have no problems on charger too. I have updated to latest software and no success. So phone is ok on charger and when I use it, and standby made it loose network first, than blank screen and restart.

When I wake up the phone the phone suddenly doesnt have any connection. i have to put the phone in offline mode and back to normal/silent for it to connect back to the network. it seems only to happen while in standby mode with powersaving mode enabled.

I installed it to my XP SP2 machine and here is main problem: You CANNOT change DNS permanently and won't take effect, after you change manually through dial-up connections > Networking > TCP/IP Properties , the changes you made will be reverted back to "automatic" by NCPIA in dial-up connection properties (TCP/IP properties) at next connection.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed a 3rd party GPS app, and after a few moments toying with it, it did not load the map so I uninstalled it.After restarting, I noticed that my phone has no signal and it reboots every now and then until there's a signal... long story short, it reboots unti it gets a signal from carrier..After it does get a signal, I tried dialing a number and I get disconnected after 2 seconds and text messages does not send...I have read other forums that it may be a carrier problem (i doubt) but anyway I followed the instruction and it worked as of this writing..The instruction was to disable Dual Mode and set it to GSM Phone > Network > set Dual Mode to GSM I can now make calls and send and receive SMS... BUT still I want to make the Dual mode working again pre installation of the GPS software..I tried to reinstall 23.002 fw but it looked like it was just a reinstall of some of the FW not reflashing the entire phone.. hence the same apps and settings are still there..Is there a way to restore this to factory firmware? Or I need to wait for another update?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have recent bought a nokia e5 and it keeps randomly moving itself to offline mode and then when i try to put back onto any other profile it says 'insert sim card'. I have of course many times removed the battery and sim card, turned the phone off for a while, left the battery out but nothing seems to work. I took the phone into phones for u where i got it from and of course as soon as i passed it over to the man behind the till he said 'look you just need to change it to a different profile'. It worked fine for him but now when i do that it does not recognise the there is a sim card in there. When i explained that this keeps happening and i can not seem to get it off oflfine mode (this does not allow me to make calls, text, accept calls or text so therefore its useless) he says there is nothing he can do as he has not seen the fault.
