Eseries / Communicators :: E5 Original Chat Application Gone?
Dec 22, 2011So I was having a problem with the original chat app that comes with the Nokia E5 phone saying that I should search for updates, but when I clicked that, I received the message of "Service temporarily unavailable. Try again later.". So I had this for a few days, using different connections and all that stuff, and the problem remained.With no option left, I decided to uninstall the app and thought: "Well, I'll just reinstall it!". There you go, now I need to reinstall that app to my phone. How can I do that? Where can I download the original chat App ("messenger, yahoo, gtalk, etc.", that all-in-one app that comes with E5)? I've tried reinstalling the system, like, using Nokia Suite and pressing the "reinstall system" button there is in the Updates tab, but that didn't help.

Feb 10, 2012so i recently gota a nokia 603 from my dad as a birthday present...i used it for a while and changed some settings...after doing this i decided to do a hard reset on the device..after the fone restarted i noticed that some of the original apps had gone missing..and also i cannot access social, nokia store, maps...and other preinstalled apps through mobile data..but its possible to access them through wifi.

Aug 26, 2011When I go to Offline mode I can't switch back to any other mode without having to remove the battery of my E72. I can't even switch off the phone as it freezes. This issue started when I installed the first phone software update last year. Yesterday I installed the latest software but the problem persists.

Jun 3, 2012You all may know E-series (and my E55) is bundled with NCPIA (Nokia PC Internet Access) software which allows us to use our phone as (3G) modem to connect PC to the internet. I installed it to my XP SP2 machine and here is main problem: You CANNOT change DNS permanently and won't take effect, after you change manually through dial-up connections > Networking > TCP/IP Properties , the changes you made will be reverted back to "automatic" by NCPIA in dial-up connection properties (TCP/IP properties) at next connection.

Feb 15, 2010I installed a 3rd party GPS app, and after a few moments toying with it, it did not load the map so I uninstalled it.After restarting, I noticed that my phone has no signal and it reboots every now and then until there's a signal... long story short, it reboots unti it gets a signal from carrier..After it does get a signal, I tried dialing a number and I get disconnected after 2 seconds and text messages does not send...I have read other forums that it may be a carrier problem (i doubt) but anyway I followed the instruction and it worked as of this writing..The instruction was to disable Dual Mode and set it to GSM Phone > Network > set Dual Mode to GSM I can now make calls and send and receive SMS... BUT still I want to make the Dual mode working again pre installation of the GPS software..I tried to reinstall 23.002 fw but it looked like it was just a reinstall of some of the FW not reflashing the entire phone.. hence the same apps and settings are still there..Is there a way to restore this to factory firmware? Or I need to wait for another update?

Sep 4, 2011ive set ip all up and its working fine. however I kind of changed the network mode settings to be GSM from Dual Mode under connectivity to reduce my battery usage in power saving i cant access internet while deactivating this option Im able to.I wish I can change it back at the same time use power saving mode. what do I do it keeps on changing back to GSM when I activate power saving mode?

Feb 28, 2011I have recent bought a nokia e5 and it keeps randomly moving itself to offline mode and then when i try to put back onto any other profile it says 'insert sim card'. I have of course many times removed the battery and sim card, turned the phone off for a while, left the battery out but nothing seems to work. I took the phone into phones for u where i got it from and of course as soon as i passed it over to the man behind the till he said 'look you just need to change it to a different profile'. It worked fine for him but now when i do that it does not recognise the there is a sim card in there. When i explained that this keeps happening and i can not seem to get it off oflfine mode (this does not allow me to make calls, text, accept calls or text so therefore its useless) he says there is nothing he can do as he has not seen the fault.

Jan 13, 2011When trying to upload new Ovi maps, I get a message that my memory card is full. Checking memory card properties (on the computer) shows enough space and OVI reports:
Your device's memory card is full. free some memory. Amount of memory required: 648 MB, amount of memory currently available: 817 MB.
I updated my OVI Suite software (to 3.0.0.284) and the software on my E52 (to 052.003). I first tried to upload one map and it reported full memory. Then I tried to update existing maps and got the message above. Then I deleted ALL maps and tried to upload ONE map and again there was not enough memory..

Jan 14, 2011I can't seem to download attachments from my Hotmail account. It was fine when I tried opening the email in html so that i can view the attachments, but when i tried downloading, it shows me the windows live page and says 'device not supported', so i can't download the attachments.
So does the E72 email client not allow attachments downloading or do i have to use the 3rd party windows live application to download attachments?
