can't connect via USB mode. With bluetooth connects ok,but i cannot update phone software. I have tried to repair cable drivers,start service layer,restart comp,but ovi suite says that the phone is not in Ovi suite mode. View 2 RepliesI have recent bought a nokia e5 and it keeps randomly moving itself to offline mode and then when i try to put back onto any other profile it says 'insert sim card'. I have of course many times removed the battery and sim card, turned the phone off for a while, left the battery out but nothing seems to work. I took the phone into phones for u where i got it from and of course as soon as i passed it over to the man behind the till he said 'look you just need to change it to a different profile'. It worked fine for him but now when i do that it does not recognise the there is a sim card in there. When i explained that this keeps happening and i can not seem to get it off oflfine mode (this does not allow me to make calls, text, accept calls or text so therefore its useless) he says there is nothing he can do as he has not seen the fault.

the only place where I went disappointed is the connectivity of the phone with Nokia PC suite. i have tried many billions time to connect, but i failed.
whenever i connect my phone to PC via cable, it asks me to connect via PC suite or mass storage or rest other option. when i hit PC suite, my computer start finding something and then all of sudden my phone ask again what way you want to connect your phone and again and again. its working perfectly fine if i hit Mass storage. it just the PC suite which aint connecting. i have tried it on my brother's computer but its coming up with same error.

I use the "email setup wizard" go into it, connect, and then it asks me my email address, I enter the CORRECT one and that's as far as this thing will let me go. I don't even get to the part where it asks me for a Password. after I enter my email address it tries to connect to the server (which is yahoo mail) and then I get the message "Unable to connect to server. Try again later."....And that's all it keeps doing. I have no clue how to set up an email on this phone. I use it with my WAN connection and with my providers internet and get the same message both times.

I installed it to my XP SP2 machine and here is main problem: You CANNOT change DNS permanently and won't take effect, after you change manually through dial-up connections > Networking > TCP/IP Properties , the changes you made will be reverted back to "automatic" by NCPIA in dial-up connection properties (TCP/IP properties) at next connection.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed a 3rd party GPS app, and after a few moments toying with it, it did not load the map so I uninstalled it.After restarting, I noticed that my phone has no signal and it reboots every now and then until there's a signal... long story short, it reboots unti it gets a signal from carrier..After it does get a signal, I tried dialing a number and I get disconnected after 2 seconds and text messages does not send...I have read other forums that it may be a carrier problem (i doubt) but anyway I followed the instruction and it worked as of this writing..The instruction was to disable Dual Mode and set it to GSM Phone > Network > set Dual Mode to GSM I can now make calls and send and receive SMS... BUT still I want to make the Dual mode working again pre installation of the GPS software..I tried to reinstall 23.002 fw but it looked like it was just a reinstall of some of the FW not reflashing the entire phone.. hence the same apps and settings are still there..Is there a way to restore this to factory firmware? Or I need to wait for another update?

When I go to settings -> connectivity and then select wifi, it searches connection for a while and then shows that none are found. Meanwhile, my old Nokia E72 remains connected to my home wifi without any problem... I am really surprised and disappointed. Also when I try to set up the connection manually, it doesn't work at all.I can't believe that such a device is being sold, a wifi connection is something extremely necessary nowadays in a smartphone. When i connect it to PC in my mobile it shows the connecting options suite,mass storage etc.But nothing works..
Another e71 of my friend is able connect to the same PC as normal.
I have a newly unboxed e7, in fact two days old, and the thing is, it just cant seem to figure out the difference between a connection from a microUSB cable connected to my mac and the charger connected into the power outlet.
The first time I connected it to the mac, everything was fine. I switched to mass memory, transferred some data, and disconnected, and well, I cant seem to do that again. I dont see the USB icon on the top right corner, and the darn thing just charges away to glory.
Switching between the modes of USB connection does not help (Nokia Ovi suite, mass storage, media transfer, conn. pc to net), *7370# didnt help, trying a Blackberry cable dint help, downloading the isync plugin for the e7 did not help as it cant detect the device.
Funnily enough, USB OTG seems to be working fine. This is one quirky phone man.
I'm having problems connecting my E72 phone to my computer. I've installed PC Suite for my E72, I've also installed the driver for the USB cable and have selected PC Suite as USB option. When I connect my phone to my computer, nothing happens.I'm running Windows XP SP3.I have tried some of the things that were suggested in other related topics, but no joy.
View 2 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this has been asked before, probably has, but I cannot connect to the ovi store on my phone, after I enter my account details, keeps saying sign in failed even though I can sign into ovi on my computer, I have reset the cache and cleared cookies, cookies are allowed on my phone all that. I have synced it with the ovi suite all that perfectly but, I don't know why I can't sign into the ovi store on my phone, or sync with ovi sync on my phone either. Im living in Ireland if that makes any difference at all and on vodafone network.
