Nokia: Caller Touch Screen Not Working On 5800 Xpressmusic

I just bought a 5800 Xpressmusic and am going through the learning phase of how to use this phone. So far pretty pleased with what I have figured out how to use but have run into a couple problems. Not sure if I have set up something wrong or if there may be something wrong with the phone. The first problem is the touch screen functions (i.e. answer, silence, options, reject) do not work when I get a call. So sometimes when I hit the "green" button if will connect, but sometimes it will hang up on whomever was calling. I am using AT&T as my provider. The second problem that I am having now is playing music. It used to work, but now it will not play any songs that I have loaded thorough Ovi program. Even the "back" function key is non-responsive, however, the "option" function key does work.
