When my phone (Nokia 5800 xpressmusic) rings I cannot use the touch screen to answer. Can only use the coloured buttons at the bottom or the security lock side button.
View 4 RepliesI just bought a 5800 Xpressmusic and am going through the learning phase of how to use this phone. So far pretty pleased with what I have figured out how to use but have run into a couple problems. Not sure if I have set up something wrong or if there may be something wrong with the phone. The first problem is the touch screen functions (i.e. answer, silence, options, reject) do not work when I get a call. So sometimes when I hit the "green" button if will connect, but sometimes it will hang up on whomever was calling. I am using AT&T as my provider. The second problem that I am having now is playing music. It used to work, but now it will not play any songs that I have loaded thorough Ovi program. Even the "back" function key is non-responsive, however, the "option" function key does work.

Anyway this automatic turning is sometimes too eager to turn the display so I would like to turn it manually. I cannot find any feature which supports this. Only with photos there is such feature but not with sms, web surfing etc.

Now is this rectifiable? Or better to go for an exchange? I dont trust Nokia Care because my e72 is still with them for some error which they are not explaning properly. Poor customer service.

Having great fun in doing so but not always given the option of where to save them to with the end result that they are saving to the phone memory which keeps filling up and then giving me an error message. Can anyone please tell me how to move apps from the phone memory to the card memory. And can anyone also tell me if I have an icon on the 'Menu' screen and the 'Apps' screen, does this mean the application has been downloaded twice and do I need both or can I delete one (presumably the 'Menu' one)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedCouldnt use touch screen at all suddenly today, I reinstalled the latest firmware update but it didnt help so did full reset and now Ive got the countries screen but can only scroll down 3 countries and cannot select any (select and cancel dont work) also the media bar keeps randomly flashing onto the screen. Anyone any idea what's causing this? It hasnt been dropped or anything, first I knew was I couldnt turn off the alarm this morning. I dont know how to go about getting it repaired as it was a competition prize in july 2009 and didnt come with any warranty documents.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the 5800 XpressMusic and a few days ago the touch screen stopped working properly.When the phone has been off for an hour or two everything works fine for the first couple of minutes, then it stops recognizing presses/unpresses and holds a lot. For this reason it sounds to me like a software fault but the guy in the local phone shop reckons the screen is pressed in and needs to be physically repaired.Any ideas?

I have updated my mobile 5800 xpressmusic firmware to V50.xx. After the update, whenever I receive calles, I am not able to answer the calls by touching the screen, when I get call, I am seeing 2 option in the screen

if I touch the option "answer" it is not working, I need to unlock first then need to touch the "answer" to attend the call,can some one help me what could be the probem?
If I try and switch an alarm off when it is rining, I am unable to do so using the touch screen.I have to press the red button, then go into the alarms and physically remove the alarm.This never happened with v30 (the last firmware I had)Why does this happen?How can I stop it from happening?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Nokia 5800 was dropped on the floor from a distance .. within few days whenever i receive a call .. i touch the green arrow to answer the call but its like i'm not doing anything , it works only if i pressed the keylock from the side, and when i make a call i can't use call option if only i pressed the keylock from the side .. its like my nokia doesn't know that i'm here and touching the screen if i only pressed the keylock from the side .. everything work good after doing that .. just the problem appears when i receive a call, make call, stopping the alarm .. they all want me to press the side keylock then i can start working.. i need help because its confusing me.i've been told to turn the sensor setting on, remove the memory , reset , upgrade , but nothing solve the issue , i'm waiting your replay guys.

i just got no where to go with my 5800 problem. I just got my phone more than a year ago and it's over the warranty. I love this phone so much but just recently, the touh screen is no longer detecting. I mean, sometimes it will but mostly it doesn't. Can you help me? I recently updated my phone 5800 XpressMusic to latest firmware V 50.0.005 (Customer Version 50.0.005.C03.01) but I am unable to see many changes. The only changes that I notice are - kinetic scrolling, change in the way browser displays the page and music library. Are these the only changes? Is there a way to check officially, what all changes, is this new firmware supposed to bring in?

I have been using Nokia handsets for last 5-7 years, because I like the compatibility & reliability of Nokia phones. But this time Nokia has really disappointed me. I have bought Nokia 5800 XpressMusic on 14th-August-2009 of 16000 INR. I have bought it for that particular feature. But i havn't found any TV-Out cable in the box or such feature in the handset. I have also connected TV-Out cable of Nokia N-95 with it, but its not working. I hope, Nokia will sure make a positive solution for that devices, manufactured without this feature in August-2009 & give the relief to all its owners like me, by replacing it with new one having this feature.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have touch screen issue with my Nokia 5800 after installing new 51.0.006 version.After instaling new FW system screen frequently goes black and strats again after 7-10 seconds. Ussually it happens when accessing my TXT messages or writing. I also formated memory card and cleard memory of the phone and installed new FW again but problem remains. When problem occures my phone screen goes black and comes back quickly. Network signal is also lost in the process. Phone has't been dropped when issue occured nor badly used. On my old FW 30 everything was working fine and I did not have this issue?

I have been experiencing several problemswith it recently; the first problem shown was that it would call my contactswithout my intention to do so and also without me touching the phone. Often it will send a text half way through me typing it and recentlyit has been switching off by itself.
I have also been experiencing the fuzzy screen due to the coldand this morning the phone's touch screen buttons would not respond however thetoolbar with the music, gallery, connectivity etc... on the right hand side of thescreen would pull down instead. The phone has been dropped a few times, however I do not thinkthis contributes to the faults. Could the phone be repaired as it is still underwarranty or will they not accept it?
Hello, just got a nokia 5800 and there seems to be two lines of stuck pixels or something near the bottom of the touch screen.These pixels make the display on that part of the screen off centred..I'm just wondering, is there anything I can do about this?

i have since transferred a bunch of music from my PC to my phone. however, only about 10% of all albums were able to automatically include the album art. alternatively, i had to manually add the album art for each album - provided if the album art could be found in the gallery. what's curious is that, when connected by usb to my PC, and because adobe photo starter pops up by default for any connected media device of mine, i could see that the album art images, which could not be found in the gallery (and hence unable to be manually added), were very well present somewhere in my phone. clearly, i have trouble locating them. furthermore, whenever i delete an album art image from my gallery, i can kiss the said album art goodbye from the album/music app too. my questions are:
1) where are the album art images which are floating somewhere in my phone/memory card ie. how can i locate them?...........
i purchased a Nokia 5800 Xpress music. After a few moths he started truning off automattically. Sometimes he turns on afterwards, sometimes he does not. It is really very anoiing. Because when I keep my obile phone in my pocket, I don't know If it turned off. I tried to do a complete reset, but that didn't work. Also all updates are installed.
