I would like to know what other users of the N900 think of the battery.I have only had a my device a few days and I can only get less than a day's use out of the battery.This is with the Wifi switched off (I mainly use the 3.5G). I do very little internet browsing. I just leave the phone on my desk, check my emails occasionally. Is this normal performance ? Does anyone get more than a day's use?

Unfortunately the search function of this forum is totally rubbish, so i am not able to find the answer where someone explains how to solve this by resetting the capacity readout by deleting some kind of init file.

View 2 Replies View Relatedive been dilligently updating my 5800 since i got it, ive not been happy with some of the updates like the stupid swipe alarm system (imho its stupid) and everything has generally been an improvement until i update to the latest version available to me on o2 in the uk,since then the phone has actually ran slower, ive needed to tap the screen more than once to get a response and sometimes during text entry i can only describe the phone as going mad thinking the screen is still being touched and entereing in letters or backspacing the entire block of text its a tad dissapointing to be honest, and re-calibrating the screen has made no improvement, one thing i admit to not trying yet is reinstalling the software but i wondered if anyone else had a similar problems since then as well

I've also disabled third-party applications so that only the stock-applications are running in the background.Is there a way to downgrade back to the previous firmware?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAll photos and videos are very poor quality, somehow blurred, like always to be out of focus.I tried in different light situations, different modes, but no improvement. Maybe I expect too much, but the N900's photo engine is complimented a lot.Here is a photo of better quality shooten with my n900:

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Nokia 6700 slide and it comes in a package with a BL-4CT battery 860 mAh, 3.7 V and 3.2 Wh. How the battery performance is poor ( keep about two days), I thought to replace it with a BL-5CT battery 1050 mAh, 3.7 V and 3.9 Wh, or BL-5J battery 1320 mAh. Or even a BP-4L battery 1500 mAh ( that do not know if it fits ).Can I improve in this way life time during the talk and standby?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm base in Sydney Australia and have just received a msg from Nokia that I can update my firmware for my N900.(firmware version 10.2010.19.)The problem is that I receive a message that I could not update because of: poor-quality ,slow or intermittent internet connection. This could also be because of problems with our servers. Is it that NSU does not support N900 and if so why would Nokia sell a phone and not provide software to update the phone with.

It might have been updating email but that shouldn't kill the battery like that. I don't use it that much during the day but it seems to go down really fast. I'm currently at 47% and it estimates 1 hour left....

My usage is typically around this:1 hour on the phone.15 minutes of Twitter. 15 minutes of browsing on 3G. No bluetooth/ WiFi/ Internet sharing on most days. Manual brightness setting. Battery Saver on. Dark backgroundLocation settings off. Email refresh after 1 hour. XBox signed out. I can't think of anything else I can do to reduce my power consumption. I'm using the firmware version 1066.0000.8779.12201, which according to my Customer care is the latest firmware version. Nokia claims a 720 hr standby time on 3G, which I am nowhere close to.

One of the main issues I have at the moment, other than no turn-by-turn navigation (sorry, had to mention it), is the battery life - or lack of!
On an average weekday I use the phone to send a few texts (no more than 10), scan the news sites (no more then 20-30mins total) and catch up on my RSS feeds (again, no more than 20-30 mins total). I'm not using the media player at all and I may make one or two short calls.
Bottom line is that I'm struggling to get more than 6 hours battery life out of it. I know smart phones are thirsty, but I don't even get to listen to music on my way to or from work!Here's what I've already done to reduce battery consumption:
Removed active widgets (such as ForcaWeather) from desktops and replaced with web shortcuts.Reduced screen brightness to 2 barsDisabled GPS & Network positioningDisabled IMDisabled BluetoothI've heard some mention reducing the amount of active desktops, but I think that kinda defeats the object of having a N900. May as well buy a lesser phone if you need to strip out all the functionality to get though the day. I'd be satisfied with 8-10 hours medium use. At the moment I'm getting around 6 hours at light use - got to be something I'm missing.
The battery backup is very low. However the specification says the standby is min. 200 hrs. But my battery runs before that (22 hrs when kept idle)May i have any suggestion. How to improve battery performance?

View 4 Replies View RelatedOk so I have a 3GS and used to have decent battery performance, losing maybe 3% over night. Well I jailbroke and like a lot of people had way worse battery, losing up to 10% over night. I did a complete restore and re jailbroke and it seemed a little better.
Well I was charging the phone tonight by USB to my computer. I checked it and saw it was at 99%. I went to watch a show and came back and now was it was at 96% still plugged in and charging. I then rebooted the phone and it was at 98%. Anyone know what the reason for this could be and a solution?
I used to get pretty good life out of my stock bionic battery. I updated the OTA update early today and since then the battery level has been going down at almost 10% every 30 - 40 mins. Following is the list in my battery usage queue. This is after I did a system reset and left my phone without any new apps (except for facebook).

I am planning to charge it to 100% and then see how it behaves. Will keep this thread posted with stats from my phone.
I have my N900 since Monday. First real-life try yesterday, battery was down after a bit lire than 3h. I've checked the forum, found out some ideas, and tried them today.Then: GPS off, Internet connexion off, Bluetooth off. Battery still empties very quickly, just a bit more than 3h with only 2 small calls. This is simply not acceptable. Should I change it? How to handle that!

I wish they could push an update that doesn't require this crap, but its never happened.
I have heard many conflicting versions of the optimal way to maximize the battery's life. It would be great to get some clarity from the experts.
1. Can you charge the phone at any time or should the battery be drawn all of the way down?
2. Once the battery is fully charged, should it be immediately disconnected from the charger, or is it OK to leave the charger attached?
3. if you are using the device, and it is below full charge, is it OK to have it charging while you are using it?
I've had the N900 for a week now. And after a software update my battery life indicator is acting strange. It would stay on full until the last few minutes when it would crash to about 10% or so and I would get the battery low warnings. Then the phone would shut down a few minutes later.My battery life is about 15 hrs with normal usage.I've installed batterygraph, which shows that battery seems to be behaving properly, i.e a couple of hours of use and its dropped to about 4V from 4.2V, but the strange thing is that it is still showing 100%.Has the update somehow reset what the fully charged voltage should be ?

can't do anything with it, if I remove the battery and put back the logo goes back on and again, thats it.When pluging it to a usb my pc makes a sound like something was connected but the flasher and NSU do not find anything even with the "u" key pressed down.

All the reviews said E6 has a good standby time. But this seems to last me less than a blackberry fone. A fully charged fone doesnt last me beyond half a day whereas BB gave almost a full day with the same usage.
