I have my N900 since Monday. First real-life try yesterday, battery was down after a bit lire than 3h. I've checked the forum, found out some ideas, and tried them today.Then: GPS off, Internet connexion off, Bluetooth off. Battery still empties very quickly, just a bit more than 3h with only 2 small calls. This is simply not acceptable. Should I change it? How to handle that!

So had my N900 for a little over a week now and overall I'm pretty impressed. Great phone, but still very much a work in progress. One of the main issues I have at the moment, other than no turn-by-turn navigation (sorry, had to mention it), is the battery life - or lack of!
On an average weekday I use the phone to send a few texts (no more than 10), scan the news sites (no more then 20-30mins total) and catch up on my RSS feeds (again, no more than 20-30 mins total). I'm not using the media player at all and I may make one or two short calls.
Bottom line is that I'm struggling to get more than 6 hours battery life out of it. I know smart phones are thirsty, but I don't even get to listen to music on my way to or from work!Here's what I've already done to reduce battery consumption:
Removed active widgets (such as ForcaWeather) from desktops and replaced with web shortcuts.Reduced screen brightness to 2 barsDisabled GPS & Network positioningDisabled IMDisabled BluetoothI've heard some mention reducing the amount of active desktops, but I think that kinda defeats the object of having a N900. May as well buy a lesser phone if you need to strip out all the functionality to get though the day. I'd be satisfied with 8-10 hours medium use. At the moment I'm getting around 6 hours at light use - got to be something I'm missing.
My iphone 6 doesn't display the battery duration and standby in battery settings, and replaces the values with - even if I completely charged my battery last time.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI would like to know what other users of the N900 think of the battery.I have only had a my device a few days and I can only get less than a day's use out of the battery.This is with the Wifi switched off (I mainly use the 3.5G). I do very little internet browsing. I just leave the phone on my desk, check my emails occasionally. Is this normal performance ? Does anyone get more than a day's use?

It would stay on full until the last few minutes when it would crash to about 10% or so and I would get the battery low warnings. Then the phone would shut down a few minutes later.My battery life is about 15 hrs with normal usage.I've installed batterygraph, which shows that battery seems to be behaving properly, i.e a couple of hours of use and its dropped to about 4V from 4.2V, but the strange thing is that it is still showing 100%.Has the update somehow reset what the fully charged voltage should be ?

can't do anything with it, if I remove the battery and put back the logo goes back on and again, thats it.When pluging it to a usb my pc makes a sound like something was connected but the flasher and NSU do not find anything even with the "u" key pressed down.

Bought a Blackberry 8520. So far there is a load of things about this device that annoys the **bleep** out of me, I think if I see that 'wait watch' any more I'll bounce this thing off a wall. I can run one, maybe two apps before the phone start slowing down and I'm seriously sick of having to pull the battery out. Now having found those specs; theoretically that is enough computing power to run a full blown desktop OS, so what does it run like an old dog? I have an old iPaq H5500 that blows my Blackberry out of the water in almost every area (except being able to make phone calls of course). I had an LG phone years ago that supported a 3G connection. I can only put the performance of this device download incredibly bad programming. The OS seems to do almost no garbage collection at all; and I've recently read that this model isn't going to get a new OS ... fantastic. I really do feel like I've been robbed. A friend who has never used a smart phone before started looking at Blackberry as his first smart phone and I've advised against it. If I had never used a smart phone before I would probably think this device was quite good but since I had already previously used Android, iOS and Windows Mobile devices I am seriously disappointed with the Blackberry. I am shocked that RIM is managing to compete with other smart phone manufacturers (or are they competing?).So after all that I am calling out to any 8520 users. Is there any way to make this device run to an acceptable standard?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am planning to purchase a Nokia 6700 slide for my mother, however, the seller has stated that it takes a long time to start up, anything between 5 minutes to an hour; and often varies. I am wondering what is casuing the problem with the device before purchasing, other than the start-up time, everything on the handset works perfectly fine (according to the seller).
Would reinstalling the operating system be of any solution? From what I know, there are no other faults for the device, and the boot up error occured totally randomly. This boot- up time is the only fault on the phone; and could be a problem, as my mother may be unable to charge the device at various points, where the phone would turn off due to low battery.
Or are there any other steps which I could take to ensure that this problem doesn't occur? Also, this is an old phone, therefore it is out of warranty.

View 11 Replies View Relatedi realy your help in this one, now i live in Lebanon, and i'm searching for a n900, but the other day my freind told that you can't check for your balance in your phone operartor, is that true, were i live, you need to recharge your phone in before you make phone calls, send messages etc, and to see how much dollars(or what ever its called) you still have in what you have recharged, you need to press *11# and than the green button, and than a message shows up showing you your phone operator balance, is it true that that can't be done on the n900? i like it how i can overclock the n900 from 600 mhz to 1000 mhz in less than 30 sec.

Luckily for me, Auto-pause had paused it for about an hour and a half before I remembered to hit "End Workout." As you can see from the screenshot below, the portal seems aware of the fact that the workout was only 37 minutes long, but the graph is displayed as if it were a 2 hour workout. "Elapsed" time for mouseovers is also incorrect.

I reset it, and it sent the pre-crash data up to the site. However, the post crash data appeared only as an empty run. I can add the run in manually, but how do I delete an empty workout? When I go to the recent workouts, bar view there's no bar to hover over for me to delete the workout (obviously).
