About Nokia Lumia 800, how much time a battery charge lasts in these situations:
1) Phone active but not used (switch on, screen light off)
2) Phone not active (switch off)A battery charge of my Nokia Lumia 800, with moderate usage, lasts only 24-48 hours.Is it normal for this product?
I bought this phone for my son for Christmas and despite having it on charge for a few hours it still shows that there's 56% battery charge then once you unplug the charger the phone won't turn on, completely dead! Tried to check software but when I plug it into laptop it just says device unplugged, the only time I got it to recognise it it was unable to find device driver software. Must admit its completely put me off this phone before we've started, I champion Nokia all the time but wish I'd bought him an iPhone now!!

I've checked the forum, found out some ideas, and tried them today.Then: GPS off, Internet connexion off, Bluetooth off. Battery still empties very quickly, just a bit more than 3h with only 2 small calls. This is simply not acceptable. Should I change it? How to handle that!
View 29 Replies View RelatedI have a Lumia 1020 for about 11 months now and today it stopped charging. If I try to turn on the phone, I can see the low battery indicator. Then the phone will proceed to turn off after a few seconds. I have tried a soft reset by holding down power and volume down at the same time. I can feel a small vibration after 6 seconds of doing this, but otherwise nothing happens. I have tried 2 different chargers, as well as connecting to the USB in the computer.

Firmware version : 1600.2487.8107.12070
The thing is, I unplugged the charger at 9 in the morning and when it came to around 9 in the night. The battery is critical low. I just made few calls, text and no more than 10 mins twitter stuff and the battery is done? My iphone could even stand for 1 day with this usage. I tried everything, reset the fone. But seems not working.
I just picked up two new nokia icons off ebay.. it was listed as new at least.. came in a box etc..
If i plug it in to charge.. it charges at about 1% per hour if that.. turn the screen on and it drops several percent,. use it unplugged and it rapidly discharges maybe 15% or more in a very short period of time.
Im guessing i got a bad batch?
Its very odd that both phones exhibit the same behavior.. and just for kicks i left 8.1 on one and put 10 on the other.
Recently swapped from Android to the Lumia 920 so i know little or nothing about the OS.Issue: Phone battery dies over night, in the morning when i plug it into charge for 15-20 mins the phone does not turn on/ shows no battery indicator/ no signs of life.So i have to resort to doing a softreset everymorning in order for the phone to turn on. Originally i thought this was a faulty handset. However it might simply be a battery saver gimmick wherby the phone has to be charged for a longer period of time before it can turn on or show any sign of life, after being fully drained

It looked legit, says Nokia, came in decent looking packaging etc. It doesn't matter how long it's plugged in for, it won't go past 80% charge. Battery performance is good, at least compared to before the replacement. I'm just wondering if the phone is just reporting it wrong, or if there is something wrong with the battery.

Yet as the day went on, the phone never charged, it continued to go down, even plugged in. I tried plugging in the camera extension but even with that it eventually discharged to 4% then stuck there, plugged in. When I'd unplug, I would get the critical battery warning. I tried rebooting twice, and finally on the 2nd reboot, the battery level went to 100%.

After finally getting rid of my 5800 doorstop, I'm now the (proud?) owner of an N97. I've encountered a fair few of the software/ c: problems and using many of the usefull tips to help with those, BUT - after 2 weeks my supplied battery (BP-4L) now won't charge more than half full and when used it dies after minutes when using the internet or an application. Thats just not right, it got an initial 24 charge and bi nightly, then nightly recharges in the first week, and its having to be left on charge constantly now.
So I rang my SP Vodafone as it was only 2 weeks old, and the chap said the 4L was the wrong battery? he said it should be a 5f but as he had none he would send me a BL-6F which was compatible and would last longer. Can't believe this will be correct, surely its a smaller battery, its also 1200mah as opposed to 1500mah so will drain quicker. Any Techy chaps know whether this'll be acceptable. Drawing up the strength for another bash at the SP, but its like speaking dutch to them.
My N97 does not seem to charge! the handset recognizes the charger is plugged in and the bars on the screen shows its charging but the charge doesnt seem to reach the battery, I've changed the battery for a new one and I get the same thing happen any ideas whats going on??

The battery low sign now comes on after 3hrs and the phone then powers off.I have replaced the battery for a new unit and tried using a friends battery but it still powers off after 3hrs when its been on charge overnight. The only way I can keep it on is by leaving on the charger.

I have placed it on multiple plates, and while it will turn the device on as if it is powering the device, and the light on the plate turns on, it does not actually charge. I have: replaced the battery, do not use Bluetooth, do not scan for wireless networks, cleaned the battery poles, removed the memory card on a trial basis, updated the firmware to the latest version. What else can I do besides return it to Nokia?
Our last nokia phones outlasted their shells over 5 years before we decided to replace them. This e51 has been great until now. Considering moving to another manufacturer.
So she has had the phone for a month and from what i know, it worked fine no issues. ATT forgot to order her a wireless charger so they finally did and used it for the first time last night. Not sure how long she charged, but after chargine, the phone did not work and she could not boot the phone.
I asked her to ry to do a soft reset by holding the volume and middle button, the phone vibrates after 10 seconds, but it shoes a blue screen. I asked her to do a hard reset wiping everything and starting frrom factory, same thing happens with a blue screen coming on and nothing else.
Im not certain if she had the update either, i doubt she has the update. Is there a way to get this phone up and running or will i have to do a warranty exchange?
Now i have a dead Nokia 800 sitting buzzing away every 1.5 minutes, This is not a conection prob it's software it just doesnt have eneough energy to reboot its self and go into charge mode, it way too sensitive and obviously a big issue for Nokia.Well after reading this thread and then HAVING to register to post and a loyal Nokia customer for over a decade. i was so looking forward to the 920. View 1 Replies View RelatedI was able to charge my lumia 900 with my car (Toyota Prius 2010) USB until the latest firmware upgrade. Only catch was to use original cable came along with phone. It didn't accept any other micro USB cables. But after the latest update even the original cable doesn't work! All the cables works well to charge the phone when connected to laptop. I am having hard time using it as i frequently travel.Ideally i should be able to charge with any micro USB cable in the car. Could you guys suggest any workarounds or fixes?Not to mention my iPhone was perfect in USB recharge though it is a slow recharge.

This seemed so outrageous that I searched and found this forum with several similiar complaints hidden in other threads. The symptom is that the phone won't charge... which is similiar to several other software related problems. However, to reduce confusion, let's please focus this thread on broken/damaged USB connectors.If your phone won't charge, you can check if you have a broken USB. Just look at yours in comparison to a USB connector on a different phone. I believe this is a manufacturing/part failure in the Nokia. I did not damage my phone. Another poster's phone had this same problem directly out of the box. Another user was eventually successful in getting Nokia to replace his phone. (My local service center wants €290 + 23% IVA to repair what I did not break.)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 2 amp, iPhone 5 compatable USB adapter in my car. When I use this on my Lumia 920 it is charging very slow, 2-3% over a half hour. It charges an iPhone 5 rather rapidly. I could get by on my iPhone for the week and only charge only need to ever charge on my work commute.
If I run Nokia Drive is running the phone will lose charge while charging. Nokia Drive is no good if the phone cannot maintain power.
