I bought my lumia 920 yesterday and while it charges in my car with an USB charging adapter it doesn't so with the delivered ac charger! The curios thing is, my old lumia 900 gets charged with the same one... What can i do?
View 7 RepliesI was able to charge my lumia 900 with my car (Toyota Prius 2010) USB until the latest firmware upgrade. Only catch was to use original cable came along with phone. It didn't accept any other micro USB cables. But after the latest update even the original cable doesn't work! All the cables works well to charge the phone when connected to laptop. I am having hard time using it as i frequently travel.Ideally i should be able to charge with any micro USB cable in the car. Could you guys suggest any workarounds or fixes?Not to mention my iPhone was perfect in USB recharge though it is a slow recharge.

What should I do to fix that problem, I have donwload all the last version and the phone is only a few months old.

I just picked up two new nokia icons off ebay.. it was listed as new at least.. came in a box etc..
If i plug it in to charge.. it charges at about 1% per hour if that.. turn the screen on and it drops several percent,. use it unplugged and it rapidly discharges maybe 15% or more in a very short period of time.
Im guessing i got a bad batch?
Its very odd that both phones exhibit the same behavior.. and just for kicks i left 8.1 on one and put 10 on the other.
With both the charger and the USB charging, the screen shows charging, the battery meter runs as if charging, but even after an hour of charging, the charge remains the same and immediately shows low battery

View 9 Replies View Relatedhad my phone for 3 days now, i noticed that charging it was kinda annoying from a dead phone, last night it died and i was going to do a full charge cycle, i put it on change before i went to bed, it vibrated to say its connect and i left it, woke up this morning unplugged and it wouldnt turn on so i left it a couple of minutes and tryed again still nothing, i tried plugging it to my computer and it came up saying i need some drivers and need to format the phone i ignored it, the battery symbol came up then the vodafone screen left it for a while then tried turning it on again and nothing just black, not vibes or nothing, now i dont even get a vibe when i plug it into my my computer or power source....

I have placed it on multiple plates, and while it will turn the device on as if it is powering the device, and the light on the plate turns on, it does not actually charge. Rebooting has not fixed it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo she has had the phone for a month and from what i know, it worked fine no issues. ATT forgot to order her a wireless charger so they finally did and used it for the first time last night. Not sure how long she charged, but after chargine, the phone did not work and she could not boot the phone.
I asked her to ry to do a soft reset by holding the volume and middle button, the phone vibrates after 10 seconds, but it shoes a blue screen. I asked her to do a hard reset wiping everything and starting frrom factory, same thing happens with a blue screen coming on and nothing else.
Im not certain if she had the update either, i doubt she has the update. Is there a way to get this phone up and running or will i have to do a warranty exchange?
About Nokia Lumia 800, how much time a battery charge lasts in these situations:
1) Phone active but not used (switch on, screen light off)

I bought this phone for my son for Christmas and despite having it on charge for a few hours it still shows that there's 56% battery charge then once you unplug the charger the phone won't turn on, completely dead! Tried to check software but when I plug it into laptop it just says device unplugged, the only time I got it to recognise it it was unable to find device driver software. Must admit its completely put me off this phone before we've started, I champion Nokia all the time but wish I'd bought him an iPhone now!!

This seemed so outrageous that I searched and found this forum with several similiar complaints hidden in other threads. The symptom is that the phone won't charge... which is similiar to several other software related problems. However, to reduce confusion, let's please focus this thread on broken/damaged USB connectors.If your phone won't charge, you can check if you have a broken USB. Just look at yours in comparison to a USB connector on a different phone. I believe this is a manufacturing/part failure in the Nokia. I did not damage my phone. Another poster's phone had this same problem directly out of the box. Another user was eventually successful in getting Nokia to replace his phone. (My local service center wants €290 + 23% IVA to repair what I did not break.)
View 19 Replies View RelatedI have a 2 amp, iPhone 5 compatable USB adapter in my car. When I use this on my Lumia 920 it is charging very slow, 2-3% over a half hour. It charges an iPhone 5 rather rapidly. I could get by on my iPhone for the week and only charge only need to ever charge on my work commute.
If I run Nokia Drive is running the phone will lose charge while charging. Nokia Drive is no good if the phone cannot maintain power.
I really want to charge it from my car to USB to the wireless charging plate. I have everything setup except the power connection to my car.

Although it is fairly new - a month old - it has been giving problems: a loose screen, a battery bug (maybe?) and the phone shutting down after every charge. Firstly, I am certain that the screen is locked in place and is not able to fidgit when force is applied. Since last week, I've realised that the bottom of the screen, where the capacitive buttons are, is shaky. It is not visible, but you can literally feel the screen moving from left to right - this isn't normal, right? Then the phone will proceed to turn off after a few seconds. I have tried a soft reset by holding down power and volume down at the same time. I can feel a small vibration after 6 seconds of doing this, but otherwise nothing happens. I have tried 2 different chargers, as well as connecting to the USB in the computer.

The thing is, I unplugged the charger at 9 in the morning and when it came to around 9 in the night. The battery is critical low. I just made few calls, text and no more than 10 mins twitter stuff and the battery is done? My iphone could even stand for 1 day with this usage. I tried everything, reset the fone. Recently swapped from Android to the Lumia 920 so i know little or nothing about the OS.Issue: Phone battery dies over night, in the morning when i plug it into charge for 15-20 mins the phone does not turn on/ shows no battery indicator/ no signs of life.So i have to resort to doing a softreset everymorning in order for the phone to turn on. Originally i thought this was a faulty handset. However it might simply be a battery saver gimmick wherby the phone has to be charged for a longer period of time before it can turn on or show any sign of life, after being fully drained

I tried to plug it up to my computer but I got nothing there either. I am getting no indication that its charging and I'm starting to think I'm out of options. Is there anything else I can try? Brightness was at its maximun ignoring the ambient light sensor. 20 minutes later the phone was off. I thought was the battery, but before this, the battery was at 60 %. I let it in rise for two days, but it doesn't start or charge the battery. Is dead. Two times, when I connect the usb charger a red led light turns on, but turns off after a few seconds.

I haven't used this bold 900 for a long time but my curve crashed. When I charge my blackberry the led turns red for a while and then it stops. And then there's a sign on the screen that it's charging. But then it stops again and nothing happensuntil I remove the usb and put it back in again..
