Nokia Lumia :: Doesn't Charge After Turning Off
Nov 25, 2011The battery of my Lumia 800 was empty, so it turned off. I plugged in the USB-Cable and nothing happens. I even can't turn on the phone by using the power button.

Nov 6, 2012I bought my lumia 920 yesterday and while it charges in my car with an USB charging adapter it doesn't so with the delivered ac charger! The curios thing is, my old lumia 900 gets charged with the same one... What can i do?

Apr 24, 2012I was able to charge my lumia 900 with my car (Toyota Prius 2010) USB until the latest firmware upgrade. Only catch was to use original cable came along with phone. It didn't accept any other micro USB cables. But after the latest update even the original cable doesn't work! All the cables works well to charge the phone when connected to laptop. I am having hard time using it as i frequently travel.Ideally i should be able to charge with any micro USB cable in the car. Could you guys suggest any workarounds or fixes?Not to mention my iPhone was perfect in USB recharge though it is a slow recharge.

May 4, 2012last night a weird thing happened... i was using my phone normally, with 3g turned on, and after a few minutes of browsing through the whats new place in the me hub, the phone just hung... i could not do anything with it. so, i tried turning it off, but din't work. i tried connecting it to the charger, din't work. Finally, i did a hard reset by pressing the lock button for 10 seconds. then after that when i connected the phone to the charger, it turned ON and the nokia logo came up on the screen... nothing happened affter that and it remained like tat for 1 hour. again i did a hard reset, same problem happened. so, i left it to charge all night and still the same thing in the morning... and also a battery symbol with a red line at the bottom is shown before the nokia logo appears.... now i cannot use the phone... what do i do now??

Sep 28, 2012I'm having an odd problem with my Lumia 800, The phone randomly shuts down, it doesn't seem to be related to the power levels as it does it when fully charged. It can go 2 days or 5 minutes before doing this. The odd thing is that to turn it back on I have to plug it into my PC, it comes back on immediately... it does not seem to come on if I plug it into the mains. This is a recent issue it worked for a couple of months without any issues.

This can happen up to 2-3 times after pressing the lock/power button. Sometimes even in my jacket pocket the screen will turn on by itself. Dec 29, 2012I noticed a couple of days ago that my phones battery consumption has increased considerably, from lasting just over a day I now only get to mid-evening before it needs recharging. I have also noticed that the screen isn't turning itself off (if I press the power button once the screen does go off but often the screen does comes back on) and the password requirement isn't kicking in.
I have tried setting the screen timeout to 30 seconds and the need for a password to one minute but the phone is ignoring my setting change. I haven't installed a new app nor changed an app settings recently either. I have done a hard reset (to factory settings) but this has made no difference (I also noted that the hard reset didn't roll back any updates either - Is this right?).

Nov 26, 2011had my phone for 3 days now, i noticed that charging it was kinda annoying from a dead phone, last night it died and i was going to do a full charge cycle, i put it on change before i went to bed, it vibrated to say its connect and i left it, woke up this morning unplugged and it wouldnt turn on so i left it a couple of minutes and tryed again still nothing, i tried plugging it to my computer and it came up saying i need some drivers and need to format the phone i ignored it, the battery symbol came up then the vodafone screen left it for a while then tried turning it on again and nothing just black, not vibes or nothing, now i dont even get a vibe when i plug it into my my computer or power source....

If i plug it in to charge.. it charges at about 1% per hour if that.. turn the screen on and it drops several percent,. use it unplugged and it rapidly discharges maybe 15% or more in a very short period of time.
Im guessing i got a bad batch?
Its very odd that both phones exhibit the same behavior.. and just for kicks i left 8.1 on one and put 10 on the other.

Brightness was at its maximun ignoring the ambient light sensor. 20 minutes later the phone was off. I thought was the battery, but before this, the battery was at 60 %. I let it in rise for two days, but it doesn't start or charge the battery. Is dead. Two times, when I connect the usb charger a red led light turns on, but turns off after a few seconds.

Dec 26, 2012So she has had the phone for a month and from what i know, it worked fine no issues. ATT forgot to order her a wireless charger so they finally did and used it for the first time last night. Not sure how long she charged, but after chargine, the phone did not work and she could not boot the phone.
I asked her to ry to do a soft reset by holding the volume and middle button, the phone vibrates after 10 seconds, but it shoes a blue screen. I asked her to do a hard reset wiping everything and starting frrom factory, same thing happens with a blue screen coming on and nothing else.
Im not certain if she had the update either, i doubt she has the update. Is there a way to get this phone up and running or will i have to do a warranty exchange?

Dec 26, 2012I bought this phone for my son for Christmas and despite having it on charge for a few hours it still shows that there's 56% battery charge then once you unplug the charger the phone won't turn on, completely dead! Tried to check software but when I plug it into laptop it just says device unplugged, the only time I got it to recognise it it was unable to find device driver software. Must admit its completely put me off this phone before we've started, I champion Nokia all the time but wish I'd bought him an iPhone now!!

Another poster's phone had this same problem directly out of the box. Another user was eventually successful in getting Nokia to replace his phone. (My local service center wants €290 + 23% IVA to repair what I did not break.)

Nov 27, 2012I have a 2 amp, iPhone 5 compatable USB adapter in my car. When I use this on my Lumia 920 it is charging very slow, 2-3% over a half hour. It charges an iPhone 5 rather rapidly. I could get by on my iPhone for the week and only charge only need to ever charge on my work commute.
If I run Nokia Drive is running the phone will lose charge while charging. Nokia Drive is no good if the phone cannot maintain power.
