Dec 3, 2012i would like to turn off the SMS preview when i get a message. Is this not possible? i have just bought a lumia 800 nice phone...some really good features.

Dec 14, 2012Just got my Lumia 920 and very happy with it... Ex Iphon user and BB for work, cut the SIM car, stuffed it in Nokia and Magic on the go.Anyway, findin my way arund it nice and easy. One thing though: how can I listen to Ringtone before selecting it for when poeple call?? When I hold finger on the tone I want, only option is to delete it.

May 4, 2012last night a weird thing happened... i was using my phone normally, with 3g turned on, and after a few minutes of browsing through the whats new place in the me hub, the phone just hung... i could not do anything with it. so, i tried turning it off, but din't work. i tried connecting it to the charger, din't work. Finally, i did a hard reset by pressing the lock button for 10 seconds. then after that when i connected the phone to the charger, it turned ON and the nokia logo came up on the screen... nothing happened affter that and it remained like tat for 1 hour. again i did a hard reset, same problem happened. so, i left it to charge all night and still the same thing in the morning... and also a battery symbol with a red line at the bottom is shown before the nokia logo appears.... now i cannot use the phone... what do i do now??

Sep 28, 2012I'm having an odd problem with my Lumia 800, The phone randomly shuts down, it doesn't seem to be related to the power levels as it does it when fully charged. It can go 2 days or 5 minutes before doing this. The odd thing is that to turn it back on I have to plug it into my PC, it comes back on immediately... it does not seem to come on if I plug it into the mains. This is a recent issue it worked for a couple of months without any issues.

This can happen up to 2-3 times after pressing the lock/power button. Sometimes even in my jacket pocket the screen will turn on by itself. Dec 8, 2013I've just recently got my 1020, I love it, I'm new to Windows Phone, I've been on iPhone since it's inception. When I take a photo on the 1020, and view it straight after, is it showing me the 41mp (or 34mp perhaps) version or the 5mp version? In settings it's set to take both 5mp and 34mp. But it seems as though the quality of the photos is quite low, especially when you zoom in a little! I'm still trying to work out if there's an improvement when I export it to the computer, maybe this is something to do with viewing it on the phone? I used the HD Photo Viewer app, I didn't notice a difference but maybe I will after a take more photos.

Oct 30, 2015Upgraded to newest build, all photos, etc. have sync'd, but not a single text message has downloaded from prior to installing this preview. I've changed every setting I can think of, but nothing works....I've never had this issue with 8.1. I let it sit overnight on wifi, and , I'm having no luck at all. Not trying to be pessimistic, but I hope my texts aren't gone. I really don't want to have to go back to 8.1 to get them back, as I'm digging WP10.

Dec 11, 2014I have used my Icon fine with the Preview for Developers version of WP 8.1, until the latest update.Since then, I've had trouble booting the phone when doing a soft reset (it took 3 cycles of going to the red Verizon screen, sitting there for a minute, rebooting on its own before it loaded WP). Also, I had an issue with the lock screen becoming unlockable, and looking like a screenshot of the start screen... kind of hard to describe, but the Start screen slid up like the lock screen, but without the keyboard to unlock. That's happened twice in the last few days and I had to do soft resets (which led to the issue mentioned above).
Today, the phone spontaneously just rebooted itself, while sitting unused on a table. Very odd, haven't seen that before.I should mention that when I first installed the update, I got a Blue Screen error when it booted up, and I had to reboot manually.
Nokia Lumia :: 800 Battery Consumption Increased - Screen Not Turning Off Itself
Dec 29, 2012I noticed a couple of days ago that my phones battery consumption has increased considerably, from lasting just over a day I now only get to mid-evening before it needs recharging. I have also noticed that the screen isn't turning itself off (if I press the power button once the screen does go off but often the screen does comes back on) and the password requirement isn't kicking in.
I have tried setting the screen timeout to 30 seconds and the need for a password to one minute but the phone is ignoring my setting change. I haven't installed a new app nor changed an app settings recently either. I have done a hard reset (to factory settings) but this has made no difference (I also noted that the hard reset didn't roll back any updates either - Is this right?).
Lumia 1020 :: No Longer Preview Photos Taken On Camera After Update
Jun 26, 2014I installed a new camera update on my 1020 the other day and I can no longer preview the photo immediately after taking the picture.
The only way to view it now is by checking it in the gallery. It was handy to preview the photo to check whether I needed to re-shoot it due to blurriness, blinking etc..
I've checked all the settings and I can't find an option to bring it back.

Nov 13, 2014My girlfriend's Lumia 1020 is unbelievably slow. It takes forever to load apps like Messenger or WhatsApp, etc.
Any app in general. Just really slow to load up. It's also laggy sometimes.
WP is a really efficient system, so there must be a software-related fix, as the hardware is still good. She is running WP 8.1 Developer Preview. She doesn't have a ton of apps, and she closes her apps after using them. I know she doesn't have a lot of space left of storage, around 1.2 GB, but it's something.

Oct 23, 2015I've just updated my Lumia 1020 to Windows 10 preview 10572. Everything seems ok but for one thing - I can't install the twitter app. It's in the store an allows me to start installing, but it either fails after completing installation, or after restoring user data. I then get an error message with the error code 0x8103010F. I have tried soft resetting several times, but it will not install the app in full. Every other app seems fine, it's just the twitter app that has the issue.

You may jump from turn to turn, but you cannot scroll in the zoomed route, let alone add a route point.So my question goes to the people who are already using Ovi Maps 3.04:Is it possible again to zoom/scroll in the preview of a planned route?Is it possible to "edit" a planned route on the phone by adding or removing route points from the preview?IMHO, regarding a mobile navigation application, manually scrolling, zooming and editing a planned route are exactly what make a smartphone into a smart phone.

Jun 2, 2012I have a problem with my nokia n86, when I go to Photos > Captured photos and I "travel" by the months that the pictures were taken, for some pictures, the preview image is completely different than the actual image! For example, I browse the phone for some the pictures taken in september 2011.
Then, when I choose one and try to use it, or even if I enlarge the picture I chose, I find out that the preview is plain wrong. This bug is for most of the pictures I took. This is really annoying - I can't find pics I took and use them. I must move them all to the computer. Also restart wont fix it. And I tried to update the software but it is the latest.
