HTC :: Touch Pro / Fuze How Does The Digitizer Attach To The Screen?
Aug 7, 2010
I need to replace the digitizer for my Fuze (the screen works fine, just no input)Is this something I can do myself? How does the digitizer attach to the screen? I took it to a repair shop and they said it can't be done because they are glued together.. I'm hoping for more of a sticky-back digitizer solution.. Has anyone done this repair?
I have an HTC Fuze, and the up volume button does not work (might actually be stuck). I have tried a different ROM, so know that its a hardware problem. If I pick up a new LCD + Digitizer Like this would it likely cure the problem? Its my understanding that the volume rocker would simply push on a contact behind the button itself, on another thread I saw that someone who ordered the part linked above had to move their existing buttons to the new piece.
Since the linked piece above would include (I am assuming since I would move my existing volume rocker button over) the contacts, I am hoping that my logic here makes sense and it would fix my volume problem.
I have a used BlackBerry Storm2 9550. There is a small issue with the touch screen digitizer, and replacing the digitizer will fix the problem. But the technician said thet, he can't replace the digitizer without replacing the whole LCD screen, as the both LCD screen and digitizer comes as a one unit. But on eBay I saw that some sellers sells the digitizer without the LCD screen.
Is it true? My LCD screen works properly. Can't I replace the touch screen digitizer, without replacing my LCD screen.
I will be ordering a replacement touch screen for my N900 (stopped working for some reason). Was wondering if anybody else wanted to replace theirs. If there are enough people will try to get a better deal, if not 1 touch screen is around $62 Canadian plus shipping.
over the last few days my dare's touch screen has been acting up. first it was making random touches, i figured there is a pocket of air underneath the screen. now the screen is not responsive at all, it does not feel like the screen has been pushed at all it is like its completely solid underneath the touch screen. the display itself is fine, so i don't think the lcd is the issue.
there also seems to be a spot underneath the display on the left side (see picture) that has been expanding since the problem started. again i don't know if its air or moisture. any suggestions? i have seen both oem lcds and digitizers on ebay for around $15, which is more likely the cause of the problem?i can't draw too well with the touchpad on my laptop but the white thing is supposed to be an arrow pointing to what i'm talking about.
i have a samsung moment that the digitizer screen is cracked. can anyone point me to some kind of repair documentation or a video?i have searched fix ya, Internet, etc. just wondering if i could see how to take it apart first instead of guessing and breaking things like tabs on it.
i recently have readjusted my iphone 4s;) it is originally black and i have removed the front screen, but my question is 'if i bought a white digitizer + screen, would it be completely compatible with the black iphone 4s?'
My 5800 touch screen is not responding well like any touch screen should. Compared with my friend's phone and he said there is definite problem with touch. Now is this rectifiable? Or better to go for an exchange? I dont trust Nokia Care because my e72 is still with them for some error which they are not explaning properly. Poor customer service.
i am one of the idiots using iphoneunlockuk, and recently was offered the os4 upgrade, i logged in and accidentally unlocked an already unlocked 3gs,it now shows attach to itunes screen. The guys from iphoneunlockuk, have said that i must now wait for the os4 unlock to come out as that will be the only way to recover my phone, i have paid for this upgrade but they still have not offered it, but have taken my money, how to get my iphone up and running again, they told me to not try the unlock again as it will turn phone into brick, but to wait for OS4?
I just bought the new Nokia 5233 phone.Whenever the phone is locked and I set a alarm. There is no way i can stop the alaram other than to reset the alarm manually by alarms-> edit.
There will be two touch buttons that apper on the otuch screen. One to stop and other to snooze the alarm. Even If press them, it wont work. The alaram keeps ringing. I even tried clicking on the green button and the menu botton at the bottom. Still no use. I cant even unlock the phone. Only thing i can do is press the red button at the end, which will snooze the alarm. After this, I have to manually change the alarm time.
The same thing happens even with phone calls. I cannot use the touch button that apper on the touch screen. I have to use the green and red button at the bottom. These problem come into picture only if the phone is locked. Otherwise it works fine.
I posted this in the wrong forum earlier like an idiot. If you see it please disregard. I didn't know how to get it deleted, I'm still a newbie as if you couldn't tell. My Sprint Touch Pro's touchscreen slowly died today. And I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I should do. I bought it on eBay and apparently the warranty is non-transferable so that's void. I have it on Boost so I'm guessing going to Sprint is out of the question also.
Just bought a BB Storm 2, 9520. But i find something doesn't seem right, but not exactly sure if it's a problem or it's just the design of the phone. Please enlighten me on this. The touch screen of my phone doesn't seem "fix" like other touch screen phone. The feel of touching the BB screen is like pressing a button where it'll "depress" when u press the screen. Is this normal for this phone?
I'd like some help with this: I had a faulty digitizer (touch screen), so I bought a new one. I installed it, but it doesn't work. It's like the contacts weren't there. Does anyone knows if there's something I have to do after replacing the digitizer?
I have owned a Droid Pro Plus (Pro+ 4G) from Bell Canada from launch last November. After just 6 months of use, the screen started to go haywire. Sometimes it doesn't get my touch inputs, other times it goes into "automatic mode" with continuous random inputs until I turn off the screen.According to a phone shop person I interviewed, this has to do with the touchscreen's digitizer. Do you have any comment on that? This phone has always been handled with care - never dropped, never wet, absolutely spotless - and thus how this could fail on me after just 6 months of use is beyond belief. I am currently on travel in the USA, and wonder if the guarantee is international???
Got my new 9550 couple of days back. First day to work, it popped out of my "bold holster" and fell. Now I got a cracked digitizer, LCD works perfectly fine. Went to eBay and got a replacement digitizer. Before I open up the phone, got a couple of quick questions: 1. Do I need to solder the digitizer to the LCD or just plug the cable in? 2. The double sided tape that attaches the Digitizer to the LCD, is that the normal thickness tape (say the one we get in Staples) or something thinner? If you know a brand that fits perfectly, it would be a great help.
So about a week ago, a vertical strip of my digitizer stopped working, right through the "n" and "j" buttons on the keyboard. I looked into getting it replaced and was quoted around $150, which seems a bit steep for a phone I only plan on keeping until the N5 (2015) drops in a couple of months. Cut to this weekend and once or twice that portion of the digitizer started working again, but only for a few minutes at a time. So it looks like it may not be a hard failure. Could it just be a loose connector?
I recently changed the digitizer in my Samsung Impression, but the new one didn't come with any adhesive to hold it in. The old adhesive came off with the old digitizer. I'm hoping to find something better than what I'm temporarily using right now (tape). Really would like something close to the original. Or if anything, something the same thickness as the original that I can cut to fit myself. The only place I have seen any listed is on a trade site and they want you to purchase a minimum of 500.
i just rebuilt my HTC DESIRE HD, and it all starts up fine and the screen is on but when i try to unlock it does nothing... as if the digitizer is not working? maybe?
so my LCD broke, gorilla glass is intact, but the digitizer is not functioning, so I can't see, or touch. I'm looking to see if I can salvage any data off the phone,I understand call logs, apps and texts will most likely be lost, but things that were saved to internal storage, is there a way big red can hook it up to my insurance replacement and transfer info over? or even drag everything off with my computer?
I'm pulling my hair out every time I use this phone. I have heard you can adjust the touch screen to make it less sensitive, but I've got no idea how to do it!
I'm a 1st time owner of a brand new 5800, this is my first experience with a touch screen phone and I was wondering since the screen is plastic and I absolutely hate scratches on my phones anywhere but especially on my screen, is there a way to put a screen protector on the screenof the phone and have the touch screen still work, will it be less sensitive or will it work at all?
Cracked Digitizer- instructions to replace?I recently got the experia active, and was very impressed for about 9 days. Then a fat crack showed up in the "gorilla glass" of the digitizer.Neither sony ericcson nor the retailer (an ebay store)wanted to touch fixing this for me.So I bought a new digitizer, and am trying to figure out how to install it.I can't find those instructions anywhere.
Accidentally shut my z2 in the car door and the screen smashed. the phone still seems to be working as the alarm goes off on time but the digitizer doesn't work and i cant see the display to enter the unlock pattern. How/if can i retrieve the data? or have i lost the lot?
mi Xperia Mini Pro's touchscreen stopped working today. I cannot enter the phone to backup my data because I cannot swipe to unlock. Surely some genius from Google thought about this? Is there a backdoor or a way to enter the phone and use it with the keyboard?
My storm 2 is broken...The touch screen has suddenly stopped working and everythime I boot the phone I get a white screen with various different errors and codes. Each time errors are different...Im sure the phone is unrepairabl so I need to recover my BBM contacts... I've recovered my phonebook, music, pics, files etc from previous backups but I need my BBM contacts... If I can remote access the phone from my laptop I can do it but I don't know how...
The last time the display functioned I was starting a play-list for my shower. I adjusted the volume once or twice without lighting the screen, and after drying off stopped the music by removing the speaker jack again without lighting the screen. The device then went into my shirt pocket and I ate dinner then watched a movie but when I tried to do a little surfing before bed the screen wouldn't light up. I had seen it light up the buttons but take a few seconds for the display when the CPU was busy so I waited, nothing happened. I pulled the battery and tried again, nothing on the screen. But then I discovered that the touch sensor was still functioning, I could swipe to unlock and power down in the standard fashion just blind. I have examined the water stickers they are both white with bright red X's.
While writing this question (I am sure many of you already know this fact) I discovered that the display of my device is in fact three distinct functional parts. The capacitive touch screen still in operation on my device, the LCD image generator also still in operation, and the Led illumination source which for lack of a more accurate description is burned out.So my question is how could this occur, is it software or hardware, and what are my recourses?
I got an iPhone 5s what the screen is totally black, but the touch screen and other functions are still working, has been replaced the LCD but it keep doing the same way.
We have the Xperia Ray and it has been working fine for about 6 weeks until the other day when the screen stopped working and we are therefore unable to access the phone. We have tried to repair the software twice and that did not work and obviously we are unable to do the reset as not able to access the phone systems.
