i have a samsung moment that the digitizer screen is cracked. can anyone point me to some kind of repair documentation or a video?i have searched fix ya, Internet, etc.
just wondering if i could see how to take it apart first instead of guessing and breaking things like tabs on it.
Cracked Digitizer- instructions to replace?I recently got the experia active, and was very impressed for about 9 days. Then a fat crack showed up in the "gorilla glass" of the digitizer.Neither sony ericcson nor the retailer (an ebay store)wanted to touch fixing this for me.So I bought a new digitizer, and am trying to figure out how to install it.I can't find those instructions anywhere.
I dropped my newly bought Samsung Moment and the screen glass cracked . The phone is still working perfectly fine. I searched through the whole web but cannot find any instructions on how to replace the glass. There are many for iphones though. I bought one digitizer from ebay and plan to do it myself. I sent questions to the seller on ebay and ask him to ask his other buyers for me. But he directed me to this forum. (1)Do you know where I can find some instructions? I searched on the web but only found those for iphones. (2)If there are no instructions, can you tell me what you think important to me? (3)How to start? I am not seeing any screws anywhere! (4)How to remove the keyboard from the screen? Do I need to remove it? (5) Can I just remove the screen from the front, or do I need to start from the back, and get to the screen layer by layer?
I recently changed the digitizer in my Samsung Impression, but the new one didn't come with any adhesive to hold it in. The old adhesive came off with the old digitizer. I'm hoping to find something better than what I'm temporarily using right now (tape). Really would like something close to the original. Or if anything, something the same thickness as the original that I can cut to fit myself. The only place I have seen any listed is on a trade site and they want you to purchase a minimum of 500.
I have a used BlackBerry Storm2 9550. There is a small issue with the touch screen digitizer, and replacing the digitizer will fix the problem. But the technician said thet, he can't replace the digitizer without replacing the whole LCD screen, as the both LCD screen and digitizer comes as a one unit. But on eBay I saw that some sellers sells the digitizer without the LCD screen.
Is it true? My LCD screen works properly. Can't I replace the touch screen digitizer, without replacing my LCD screen.
I will be ordering a replacement touch screen for my N900 (stopped working for some reason). Was wondering if anybody else wanted to replace theirs. If there are enough people will try to get a better deal, if not 1 touch screen is around $62 Canadian plus shipping.
I need to replace the digitizer for my Fuze (the screen works fine, just no input)Is this something I can do myself? How does the digitizer attach to the screen? I took it to a repair shop and they said it can't be done because they are glued together.. I'm hoping for more of a sticky-back digitizer solution.. Has anyone done this repair?
i recently have readjusted my iphone 4s;) it is originally black and i have removed the front screen, but my question is 'if i bought a white digitizer + screen, would it be completely compatible with the black iphone 4s?'
over the last few days my dare's touch screen has been acting up. first it was making random touches, i figured there is a pocket of air underneath the screen. now the screen is not responsive at all, it does not feel like the screen has been pushed at all it is like its completely solid underneath the touch screen. the display itself is fine, so i don't think the lcd is the issue.
there also seems to be a spot underneath the display on the left side (see picture) that has been expanding since the problem started. again i don't know if its air or moisture. any suggestions? i have seen both oem lcds and digitizers on ebay for around $15, which is more likely the cause of the problem?i can't draw too well with the touchpad on my laptop but the white thing is supposed to be an arrow pointing to what i'm talking about.
customer calls to get another phone. Customer says he was working 25 feet in airand dropped phone on ground. Screen did not crack. Customer had premium screen protectoron phone.
when i was using the Motorola SF600 headphones (nothing the break the fall when i dropped the unit) and the screen cracked. Ok no problem, cracked screen still works i can live with it. Now today my screen is blanking in and out basically i cant see anything on the screen. This sucks, the SF600 headphones failed me twice i should have never even tried them.Let me note I still have my 32gb 1g ipod touch which has been smashed and dropped on cement so many times guess what screen never cracked, not once the thing still works for crying out loud! Sad thing is i might buy another unit but motorola really has some suspect issues. I am thankfull i bought this unit from amazon warehouse deals and was issued a credit due to an incompelte box so out of pocket was maybe $150. But jeezus Motorola lets make some stufff that can last and survive an accidental drop.
Does anyone know if you can get a replacement screen for a Nokia 5230? The LCD screen is cracked & parts are now starting to turn black where the ink is leaking. Also if I can buy a new screen - anyone know roughly how much its likely to cost? Look forward to replies!
I cracked my 3G screen last week. It was my first time dropping since buying it on day one. I had it in my lap (which i normally never do) while driving and it fell flat on its face when i was getting out. I've already ordered a replacement glass and digitizer since the phone still works perfectly. My problem is that I can now see dust specks accumulating under the glass. What's the safest way to clean the LCD when I'm taking it apart?
I dropped it when typing, and the second layer of the screen cracked, and it will not boot or connect to my laptop. What can I do, and what is the Blackberry Support phone number for repairs?
Im not really sure how it all happened i got out of my car and i put my keys in my poket, the same poket as the iPhone normaly i never cary anything else in my poket but my iphone everything else in the other one, So as soon as i remmembered that i put the keys in the same poket i took out my phone to see if there was any scrashes but it was works there was a crack inside the phone not on the outside but inside the display. I just bought the phone a little less then a month ago. i bought it a telcel retail store and there is no apple retail store to take it for the warranty what should i do ?
I have a nokia x6 and it has a internal crack that just appeared. Is that covered in the warranty. If that is not covered in the warranty then how much will it cost to get that repaired.
I have a BB 9500 and the screen cracked yesterday. My problem is; I cant transfer anything from this handset. Device is password locked. And the SDCard is password/device level protected. When I try switch devices it asks for the password. I enter it and it starts loading, then asks me to "unlock the device" since it is password locked??? The screen is cracked, so how can I unlock the device? Btw I plugged the SDCard to another BB and the new one don't even recognize the card...
My z3 screen recently cracked from top right corner to bottom left and the top two thirds of the screen is unresponsive to touch. So once I turned it on I cannot enter my PIN.
Can this issue be fixed with a simple screen replacement or is it a deeper issue?
So about a month ago i was getting out of my car with loose pockets, and of course my iphone fell out and cracked on both sides. I brought it into at and t today and they said i was not eligible for a warranty replacement because it only covers manufacturing problems. If i go to the apple store will i have to pay a screen replacement fee or exchange. Would it be cheaper if i replaced both screens or just traded?
I met with an accident and broke my Iphone 4 screen but the Iphone works perfectly fine. So i was wondering how much will it cost me to get the screen fixed from Apple.
I dropped my iPhone as I was cleaning it off. The LCD screen is cracked and it now has these dark lines going across. How much is it to replace it? Would it be cheaper since I have an old 3GS screen that is in perfect condition? I don't live near an Apple store (but willing to make a drive if I can get it fixed while I wait) and don't want to send in my phone to get it fixed.
Only about 2 days ago I bought a new Blackberry Bold 9900 with Virgin Mobile and unfortunately I had it resting on a table when a dart landed on top of the screen while I was away. Sadly, now the screen is cracked in the upper left area and the touchscreen is completely irresponsive. I can still see everything on the screen and manuever using the buttons. Along with this, when I run my hand across the crack, I cannot even feel it, so the crack seems to be under the initial protective coating.
I just replaced a glass screen on my father's Motorola Xoom with the 4G LTE upgrade. Total cost was $101 and about two hours of time. The Xoom was dropped on a tile floor and had multiple cracks in the glass, but was still functional. Just want all you fellow Xoom owners to know it can be done yourself if you have at least a bit of skills (and a hair dryer).
I have enjoyed my motoactv to a certain degree, despite portal failures, bugs, and the like, but my latest experience is very disappointing.Add me to the list of persons that has had the device fall and develop a hairline crack in the screen. Ok I've seen the other horror stories on the forum about support. My device works fine, but I don't want it to get wet now with the screen crack.
I opened a call, and since I am from Canada, I was given a repair location that is right in my home city. Perfect! However they refused to even look at the device, claiming they repair Motorola phones but not the motoactv. I provided the Motorola ticket number and explained that Motorola referred me to them. They couldn't care less and refused to accept the device. I regulary use a US address, and so opened up a new case; and shipped my device to the US. The *very* day within hours of receiving notification that I would have to pay to have the motoactv fixed, (This is not a problem for me.) I phoned in and requested that the repair be made, and provided payment by credit card.I have a Gran Fondo event in Mid July, and will *definitely* be using my Garmin. Looks like I have perhaps totally wasted my money on this device, although for now I can use it as an mp3 player when I go to the gym......
