Does anyone know if you can get a replacement screen for a Nokia 5230? The LCD screen is cracked & parts are now starting to turn black where the ink is leaking. Also if I can buy a new screen - anyone know roughly how much its likely to cost? Look forward to replies!

View 2 Replies View RelatedYestrday when i swtchd on my mobile nd i was shockd to see the inner screen cracked !!it niether fell nor hit anywhere hard.. but usualy i cary it in my jeans front pocket..no idea y such a small pressure caused it to crack. the front layer is fine...u wont notice the crack until the mobile is swtchd on..
all other functions r workin absltly fine...excpt fr the screenmy phone is still undr waranty, will this be included in the waranty...if not how much will it cost for rplacing the screen?
I have a problem with my nokia.everything was alright till yesterday. When is in vertical (the screen) freeze and the pictures seem cracked. When i pass in landscape mode evrything is alright. What problem can it be ?? a firmware problem?? Im also afraid to get the firmware updated because when i updated once my screen became blank and than i have to programm it a thing that caused me 60 euros.

View 9 Replies View Relatedwhen i was using the Motorola SF600 headphones (nothing the break the fall when i dropped the unit) and the screen cracked. Ok no problem, cracked screen still works i can live with it. Now today my screen is blanking in and out basically i cant see anything on the screen. This sucks, the SF600 headphones failed me twice i should have never even tried them.Let me note I still have my 32gb 1g ipod touch which has been smashed and dropped on cement so many times guess what screen never cracked, not once the thing still works for crying out loud! Sad thing is i might buy another unit but motorola really has some suspect issues. I am thankfull i bought this unit from amazon warehouse deals and was issued a credit due to an incompelte box so out of pocket was maybe $150. But jeezus Motorola lets make some stufff that can last and survive an accidental drop.

Honestly I've never been so disappointed about a product. When I go to crop a picture, the screen goes black, gets really hot, and then shuts off.
So tonight I go to crop a picture, keeping in mind only some pictures don't crop, and the phone does its thing, shuts off, and.. Cracks.

When I change the theme to 'Shortcuts bar' and go back into 'Homescreen' I am given 5 options to display. Shortcuts, Search, Music Player, Radio and Calendar. However, only 'Shortcuts' and 'Search' actually work, and it doesn' event allow for E-mail notification as an option. Any work arounds/fixes for this problem, or am I doing something wrong?

My screens are rotating when in turn the device, that is okay, but except the home screen. The home screen is always in portrait mode whatever the position of the phone is. Can this be changed?

The screen keypad gets locked when I dial a call or when I attend an incoming call with the green call receive button. however when I lock it and unlock it back, the screen keypad gets unlocked. Im not sure if the issue is because of the latest firmware. Is there any way I can move to previous firmware version.

On the Nokia 5230 home screen only 4 application thumbnails can be set up. Is there any possibility to add more thumbnails into the applications bar on the main screen?

I had it in my lap (which i normally never do) while driving and it fell flat on its face when i was getting out. I've already ordered a replacement glass and digitizer since the phone still works perfectly. My problem is that I can now see dust specks accumulating under the glass. I installed mail for exchange and I was seeing all my Outlook appointments on the main screen, but then it disappeared. The entries are there, I keep getting the alarms, but to see the entries I have to go into the calendar. It now shows no appointments. I've tried all the obvious things but guess I either have a real problem or am missing something.1. There are loads of current appointments in my calendar. Many on each day and the reminders for those still alarm.2. Home screen is set to shortcut 3. I don't have any apps loaded that replace the home screen 4. settings/ personal/ home screen/ home screen gives me a list of options but calendar is no longer one of them . All I now have are shortcuts, search, music player and radio.
I'm reluctant to perform a hard reset or re-flash it as it took me ages to get the internet connection working correctly and I expect a reset will mess all that up again.

And the SDCard is password/device level protected.When I try switch devices it asks for the password. I enter it and it starts loading, then asks me to "unlock the device" since it is password locked??? The screen is cracked, so how can I unlock the device? Btw I plugged the SDCard to another BB and the new one don't even recognize the card...

I dropped my newly bought Samsung Moment and the screen glass cracked . The phone is still working perfectly fine. I searched through the whole web but cannot find any instructions on how to replace the glass. There are many for iphones though. I bought one digitizer from ebay and plan to do it myself. I sent questions to the seller on ebay and ask him to ask his other buyers for me. But he directed me to this forum.
