Nokia 5230 :: Camera Wont Start Up - Blank Black Screen?
Jun 3, 2010Anyone have any idea why my nuron 5230's camera wont start up? it just gives me a blank black screen and when i try to switch it to video mode it tells me "memory is full switch memory?" then i click yes but it just crashes and brings me back to the home screen. anyone have any idea whats wrong? or any fixes? i already tried to take the battery off, restore to factory settings, and that reset [press and hold green, red, camera, and power button till phone boots up] but its still like this.

May 1, 2012my bb9900 is not very old (DOP- 26/11/2011) and i handle it very carefully. but few days back its screen went black, suddenly, for few mins and then again it became normal. since then it happens daily and atleast for a few times everyday.

Jun 26, 2015While I was taking some pictures, my Xperia Z3 decided to turn its screen black, without any reason. The colors faded and in a few seconds the screen went blank. I know my phone is stll working because when I plug my earphones in it, music starts to play, the notfication led turns on, it vibrates when I get mesages and the volume and camera buttons make noise when I press them. I have tried turning it off and doing a soft reset but nothing happened, and my phone is only a few months old!

I have read that many other users have had the same problem with the Xperia Z3. At the moment I'm studying abroad (don't have my warranty with me) and I havea lot of important things stored in my phone. I would like to retrieve the data, but my pc doesn't recognize the phone since it is blocked and cannot type the PIN code.

Mar 4, 2010I am helping out a friend who has a Nokia 6280. She claimed that it's infected by a virus because her problems started after using a Bluetooth headset. I don't quite believe this as I've heard it's more likely to be struck by lightning than to have this phone infected with a virus. Anyhow, the problem is the following: When you power on the phone, you get the Nokia handshake, then the phone loads. However, as soon as the phone loads, a bunch of black lines appear to streak across the screen rendering it black. That's not a huge issue because it goes away after a few seconds. Now I've read this could be an issue related to the ribbon that connects to the screen, but the screen turning black does not occur in any other instance other than right after when the main screen appears. I can play with the slider all day and nothing will happen, but like clockwork the problem appears after the phone loads.What gives? The phone works fine otherwise, so what could the problem be? If you need any more information I will be happy to provide. I've uploaded a video of this issue here (using my 5800 XpressMusic at night - the quality isn't that great sorry, but it does show the problem). Pardon the audio - my kids were watching Spongebob Squarepants so you might want to turn the audio all the way down! I guess my question is two-fold:
1) can this in fact be the result of a virus?
2) if this isn't due to a virus, what is it due to?
Nokia Nseries :: Touch Screen Stops Functioning All Of A Sudden?
Aug 24, 2012Of late, touch screen of my phone E.6 is giving trouble. It stops functioning all of a sudden. I also got it checked up/repaired from the authorised Noke Care Centre.The problem still persists.. I may add that I have also reinstalled/update software from Net, but still the problem has not been solved.

Nokia :: 5230 Home Screen Theme
Mar 13, 2010When I change the theme to 'Shortcuts bar' and go back into 'Homescreen' I am given 5 options to display. Shortcuts, Search, Music Player, Radio and Calendar. However, only 'Shortcuts' and 'Search' actually work, and it doesn' event allow for E-mail notification as an option. Any work arounds/fixes for this problem, or am I doing something wrong?

My screens are rotating when in turn the device, that is okay, but except the home screen. The home screen is always in portrait mode whatever the position of the phone is. Can this be changed?

The screen keypad gets locked when I dial a call or when I attend an incoming call with the green call receive button. however when I lock it and unlock it back, the screen keypad gets unlocked. Im not sure if the issue is because of the latest firmware. Is there any way I can move to previous firmware version.

I installed mail for exchange and I was seeing all my Outlook appointments on the main screen, but then it disappeared. The entries are there, I keep getting the alarms, but to see the entries I have to go into the calendar. Mar 17, 2010I've tried the search but can't find my solution.Until yesterday my home screen used to show upcoming appointments on the lower half of the screen. It now shows no appointments. I've tried all the obvious things but guess I either have a real problem or am missing something.1. There are loads of current appointments in my calendar. Many on each day and the reminders for those still alarm.2. Home screen is set to shortcut 3. I don't have any apps loaded that replace the home screen 4. settings/ personal/ home screen/ home screen gives me a list of options but calendar is no longer one of them . All I now have are shortcuts, search, music player and radio.
I'm reluctant to perform a hard reset or re-flash it as it took me ages to get the internet connection working correctly and I expect a reset will mess all that up again.

When I am on the home screen there is a flashing message icon in the top right hand screen and when i click on it it says sim memory full - i have copied all my contacts across onto the phone. May 31, 2010I was testing the Ovi Maps and found that the horizontal screen (Landscape) is better to navigate than the vertical (Portrait) position What is intriguing me is that my 5230 only switch from portrait to Landscape when turned to the left, and in this case the GPS antenna would be located in lower place of the unit, not at the top, where it should be.
Question: Wy 5230 do change the screen from portrait to Landscape only when switching to the left and not to the right? How I can make this to works correctly, so that the GPS antenna is looking to the sky and not to the floor in the landscape position?

Feb 7, 2010I have a question/problem. I set my home screen theme to "Shortcuts bar" and i try to see the five bars that appears In the "home screen" adjust menu. I mark the 5 options but in the home screen only appears the "Shortcuts bar" and the "Search" bar. I can't see the "Music player", "Radio" and "Calendar" bars. Somebody knows why?

Feb 2, 2010I'm using he Nokia Messaging (email.nokia.com) application for push email. Yesterday I added an Exchange account from my company. It installed Mail for Exchange and everything went smoothly. After a few minutes the Email widget on the Home screen disappeared. I uninstalled Mail for Exchange and Nokia Messaging but still won't appear again. I even setup an email account using the phones integrated client and still it doesn't show up. On the screen there's only an empty field, as wide as the screen, which changes it's color on click. Right now the only email app installed is Nokia Messaging.

Feb 20, 2010I bought a Nokia 5230 in Jan this year. There was no issue for the first few days... Then suddenly it started restarting . Radomly. First when I enabled bluetooth. Then later on it would restart when I changed a setting like Home Screen Shortcuts or Personalised the General Profile ... etc. I am using a SanDisk MicroSD 4 GB card brand new clean formatted. I have only put in music from NokiaMusic and OVI store apps. It has nothing to do with software installed. There is some really wierd problem.
..So , I went to the Nokia Care store countless times, and they re-installed and updated the phone software and gave it to me.. still the same problem.. SO then they sent it to the Delhi Head Office and I got a replacement 5230 !!! And guess what still the same problem !!! Random restarts. I feel there is some issue with the phone software or firmware or there is some issue with the phone accessing its memory card , I dont know. I have the latest firmware update for this phone V12.0.089

Mar 24, 2010my phone was in my pocket and suddenly the screen went blank, the warranty people are saying that my lcd is faulty, cud there be anyother software or hardware reason for it.
