May 3, 2010i turn on my phone and it just stays on the nokia screen not the tmobile welcome or anything it just stays there.

Nokia 5230 :: Camera Wont Start Up - Blank Black Screen?
Jun 3, 2010Anyone have any idea why my nuron 5230's camera wont start up? it just gives me a blank black screen and when i try to switch it to video mode it tells me "memory is full switch memory?" then i click yes but it just crashes and brings me back to the home screen. anyone have any idea whats wrong? or any fixes? i already tried to take the battery off, restore to factory settings, and that reset [press and hold green, red, camera, and power button till phone boots up] but its still like this.

Jan 14, 2010Just done latest E71 firmware update 400.21.013 to it and all went well except the WiFi symbol comes on after 30 seconds and will not go off. No other program can use the wifi connection. I have four E71. Tried it on the second E71 phone. Did the same. Permanently, the wifi is on. Tried a deep hard reset and then installed. Same again.

Apr 1, 2011I recently bought a new nokia E7 and not long after I decided to try out the camera but the screen stays black, as in I can see the tools but the actual camera screen is black as if somethings in front of it, when I switch to the front camera (facing me) it works fine, just the back camera wont show anything?

Mar 13, 2010When I change the theme to 'Shortcuts bar' and go back into 'Homescreen' I am given 5 options to display. Shortcuts, Search, Music Player, Radio and Calendar. However, only 'Shortcuts' and 'Search' actually work, and it doesn' event allow for E-mail notification as an option. Any work arounds/fixes for this problem, or am I doing something wrong?

My screens are rotating when in turn the device, that is okay, but except the home screen. The home screen is always in portrait mode whatever the position of the phone is. Can this be changed?

The screen keypad gets locked when I dial a call or when I attend an incoming call with the green call receive button. however when I lock it and unlock it back, the screen keypad gets unlocked. Im not sure if the issue is because of the latest firmware. Is there any way I can move to previous firmware version.

Apr 20, 2010Can anyone tell me how to put back my calendar entries on the main screen? I installed mail for exchange and I was seeing all my Outlook appointments on the main screen, but then it disappeared. The entries are there, I keep getting the alarms, but to see the entries I have to go into the calendar. It's making me crazy that I can't find the way to get the calendar entries shown on the main screen.

Mar 17, 2010I've tried the search but can't find my solution.Until yesterday my home screen used to show upcoming appointments on the lower half of the screen. It now shows no appointments. I've tried all the obvious things but guess I either have a real problem or am missing something.1. There are loads of current appointments in my calendar. Many on each day and the reminders for those still alarm.2. Home screen is set to shortcut 3. I don't have any apps loaded that replace the home screen 4. settings/ personal/ home screen/ home screen gives me a list of options but calendar is no longer one of them . All I now have are shortcuts, search, music player and radio.
I'm reluctant to perform a hard reset or re-flash it as it took me ages to get the internet connection working correctly and I expect a reset will mess all that up again.

Jul 23, 2010I'm new to Nokia too and I got an 2760 (I know not the latest model) as gift. Since the battery from my old phone is almost ruined, I'm using it. What baffles me - in the manual I can't find how to change the start-up screen (Nokia) or better, how to block it. This was possible with my old one, but with this one?
To make matters even more complex.it used to be a T-Mobile model (I'm no T-Mobile subscriber) and the menu differs even from the (very short) manual.
Nokia :: Start Screen Shortcuts Gone
Jul 1, 2010I've got a X6 since a month or so and I always left the start screen settings in place. Recently, the shortcuts on that screen have gone. Only the phone and menu buttons at the bottom are visible. I've tried setting the Theme to no avail.
I've also tried a hard reset (soft wouldn't do it), and that works fine. But when I restore my phone, the same problem persists. Even when I do not restore the phone settings, but only contact, messages, etc, the shortcuts on the start screen are gone again.It feels like there's some corrupt data in the backup. Anyone got another tip?

May 31, 2010I was testing the Ovi Maps and found that the horizontal screen (Landscape) is better to navigate than the vertical (Portrait) position What is intriguing me is that my 5230 only switch from portrait to Landscape when turned to the left, and in this case the GPS antenna would be located in lower place of the unit, not at the top, where it should be.
Question: Wy 5230 do change the screen from portrait to Landscape only when switching to the left and not to the right? How I can make this to works correctly, so that the GPS antenna is looking to the sky and not to the floor in the landscape position?

Feb 7, 2010I have a question/problem. I set my home screen theme to "Shortcuts bar" and i try to see the five bars that appears In the "home screen" adjust menu. I mark the 5 options but in the home screen only appears the "Shortcuts bar" and the "Search" bar. I can't see the "Music player", "Radio" and "Calendar" bars. Somebody knows why?

Feb 2, 2010I'm using he Nokia Messaging (email.nokia.com) application for push email. Yesterday I added an Exchange account from my company. It installed Mail for Exchange and everything went smoothly. After a few minutes the Email widget on the Home screen disappeared. I uninstalled Mail for Exchange and Nokia Messaging but still won't appear again. I even setup an email account using the phones integrated client and still it doesn't show up. On the screen there's only an empty field, as wide as the screen, which changes it's color on click. Right now the only email app installed is Nokia Messaging.

Feb 1, 2010As the title says. The date on the start screen is stuck and doesn't change. Now it's tuesday, but it still says it's monday on the phone. The clock is ok. Also the calendar is ok (events and everything).This happened 3 times in the last month or so. I have a few programs running. The one I'm suspecting the most now is X-Plore (trial version). It's the only extra program that I'm running from a few days before when this bug didn't happen. But I'm not sure, since this is an old bug that happened quite some time before and I don't remember if X-Plore was running then. Also, when I'm entering some numbers on the start screen there is the correct date, but when I clear those numbers it shows the wrong date again. I don't know exactly what fixes it, a restart for sure, but also some other actions I think.
