When I change the theme to 'Shortcuts bar' and go back into 'Homescreen' I am given 5 options to display. Shortcuts, Search, Music Player, Radio and Calendar. However, only 'Shortcuts' and 'Search' actually work, and it doesn' event allow for E-mail notification as an option. Any work arounds/fixes for this problem, or am I doing something wrong?
View 2 RepliesI have a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and am currently using the Contacts Bar Home Screen Theme, which I find very useful.
However, I would also like to have my calendar visible on the home screen, as is possible on the Shortcuts Bar Theme. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a way to have both the Contacts Bar and the Calendar visible on the Home Screen.
I am very happy with my 5230, but there is one thing I would like to know whether it is normal or not. My screens are rotating when in turn the device, that is okay, but except the home screen. The home screen is always in portrait mode whatever the position of the phone is. Can this be changed?

I installed mail for exchange and I was seeing all my Outlook appointments on the main screen, but then it disappeared. The entries are there, I keep getting the alarms, but to see the entries I have to go into the calendar. It's making me crazy that I can't find the way to get the calendar entries shown on the main screen.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've tried the search but can't find my solution.Until yesterday my home screen used to show upcoming appointments on the lower half of the screen. It now shows no appointments. I've tried all the obvious things but guess I either have a real problem or am missing something.1. There are loads of current appointments in my calendar. Many on each day and the reminders for those still alarm.2. Home screen is set to shortcut 3. I don't have any apps loaded that replace the home screen 4. settings/ personal/ home screen/ home screen gives me a list of options but calendar is no longer one of them . All I now have are shortcuts, search, music player and radio.
I'm reluctant to perform a hard reset or re-flash it as it took me ages to get the internet connection working correctly and I expect a reset will mess all that up again.
I just got my phone yesterday and everything seems great apart from an annoying little problem! When I am on the home screen there is a flashing message icon in the top right hand screen and when i click on it it says sim memory full - i have copied all my contacts across onto the phone. Can someone help me with how to get rid of it?

I mark the 5 options but in the home screen only appears the "Shortcuts bar" and the "Search" bar. I can't see the "Music player", "Radio" and "Calendar" bars. Somebody knows why?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI'm using he Nokia Messaging (email.nokia.com) application for push email. Yesterday I added an Exchange account from my company. It installed Mail for Exchange and everything went smoothly. After a few minutes the Email widget on the Home screen disappeared. I uninstalled Mail for Exchange and Nokia Messaging but still won't appear again. I even setup an email account using the phones integrated client and still it doesn't show up. On the screen there's only an empty field, as wide as the screen, which changes it's color on click. Right now the only email app installed is Nokia Messaging.

All of a sudden it stopped doing that and now only the menu button flashes when I recieve a message how can i change it back?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI bought a Nokia 5230 in Jan this year. There was no issue for the first few days... Then suddenly it started restarting . Radomly. First when I enabled bluetooth. Then later on it would restart when I changed a setting like Home Screen Shortcuts or Personalised the General Profile ... etc. I am using a SanDisk MicroSD 4 GB card brand new clean formatted. I have only put in music from NokiaMusic and OVI store apps. It has nothing to do with software installed. There is some really wierd problem.
..So , I went to the Nokia Care store countless times, and they re-installed and updated the phone software and gave it to me.. still the same problem.. SO then they sent it to the Delhi Head Office and I got a replacement 5230 !!! And guess what still the same problem !!! Random restarts. I feel there is some issue with the phone software or firmware or there is some issue with the phone accessing its memory card , I dont know. I have the latest firmware update for this phone V12.0.089

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor no reason I can tell my email notification bar on my home screen has disappeared.I am left with just the shadowed bar where the text for the email count used to be. When I select this bar it flashes red as if I've selected it and I also get a select vibrate but nothing opens.I have tried switching off the notification in my home screen settings, and the good old turining the phone off and on again.

The screen keypad gets locked when I dial a call or when I attend an incoming call with the green call receive button. however when I lock it and unlock it back, the screen keypad gets unlocked. Im not sure if the issue is because of the latest firmware. Is there any way I can move to previous firmware version.

all right first post whoooo. i bought a nokia 5230 a few months ago maybe march or april....have the ltest firmware 20. sumtin. the photo gallery sucks, nokia photo beta thingy sucks. any thing involving viewing pics suck. so my question is this is there a app or trick or sumthin to view images full screen or even full screen browse style? would love to use my 3.2 inch screen to its fullest

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was testing the Ovi Maps and found that the horizontal screen (Landscape) is better to navigate than the vertical (Portrait) position What is intriguing me is that my 5230 only switch from portrait to Landscape when turned to the left, and in this case the GPS antenna would be located in lower place of the unit, not at the top, where it should be.
Question: Wy 5230 do change the screen from portrait to Landscape only when switching to the left and not to the right? How I can make this to works correctly, so that the GPS antenna is looking to the sky and not to the floor in the landscape position?
Does anyone know how to snap and save a screen capture pic off the Nuron 5230, or know of an app that can do so?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone have any idea why my nuron 5230's camera wont start up? it just gives me a blank black screen and when i try to switch it to video mode it tells me "memory is full switch memory?" then i click yes but it just crashes and brings me back to the home screen. anyone have any idea whats wrong? or any fixes? i already tried to take the battery off, restore to factory settings, and that reset [press and hold green, red, camera, and power button till phone boots up] but its still like this.
