I created a POP3 account using the "Accounts" app. All is good, it can send & receive emails & they appear in the Blur messaging widgets, which I like.My problem is that I do not want the phone to delete the emails from the server as I get my main PC's Outlook to download & store all the emails when it is switched on.Can it be done? It would be a nice new feature to add if it isn't already in.

Notifications are working however it doesn't show on the email icon, it did on the SGS2,. I tried sending you a PM, but your not in the Directory?

He keeps EVERY email he receives on his computer, but does not want to keep them on his phone. Is there any possible way to delete an email off of the iPhone but keep it on the server? He uses Yahoo Mail & Novell Group Wise.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI created email accounts that use POP3 to receiv and SMTP to send and find I can receive mail but my sent emails get an authentication error. I originally thought they were not being sent at all but then I decided to let them remain in the out folder. After 6 hours they were finally sent. Some take 1 1/2 hours. So it seems that to send email out with a SMTP (roadrunner account) it can take from 1 1/2 hours to 6 hours. The gmail accounts work just fine, but I don't use gmail except for people I am not sure of and do not want their emails in my roadrunner account. Yes, I have my POP3 and SMTP set up correctly. If I didn't I wouldn't be able to send or receive at all. I have removed them and put them back, turned my phone off and let it rest and turned it back on many times.
I have talked to Motorola and the person I talked to yesterday has referred the problem to a tech person further up the ladder. I have read about other problems of this kind on sites on the web when I googled a question about it, but I am not always trusting of the unknown sites. This is a Motorola help site so I am hoping the information here will be more accurate and trustworthy.
FYI, I just read something from a site that said to use gmail as the outgoing smtp. Well, I switched the smtp for one of the roadrunner accounts to use .gmail.com as the smtp. It seems to have the same problem.
I have tried to configure rediffmail ID on my Torch 9800. I dont use email client viz MS Outlook etc. But it says you need to change settings there. How can i do it when i dont use them at all and access rediffmail directly? gmail and yahoo id have been configured properly and working fine.

If an Office 2007 file is sent as an attachment (.docx, .xslx, .pptx) it shows up a "unsupported file type" and cannot be downloaded or saved. I have both QuickOffice and DocumentsToGo installed and the files open fine with those apps and are recognized attachments I use the K9 email client with the same Verizon POP3 email account.Is there any way to get the stock email client to recognize that .docx, etc are valid file attachments and allow them to be downloaded and viewed
View 12 Replies View Relatedfor the last 2-3 days my E55 has been unable to retrieve messages in HTML and attachments will not download.When I request for retrieval, the retrieval task bar appears then the message completey disappears from the mailbox. It does not go to deleted items it simply disappears from the phone. Agonisingly and infuriating to say the least! I have twice called Nokia support who have now escalated the issue. They have reset the phone to factory settings and all software is as updated as can be. I have been all over the menu and e mail settings, both global and mailbox, and cannot see what could be causing the issue.My mail is POP3 with Blueyonder and is ok on my PC with XP Pro SP2 and also on my Notebook with Win 7 Ultimate. Both of these are configured to save copies on the server, however if the message is read first on the phone neither the PC nor Notebook can receive the message as Nokia only supports pull from the server.Why is this suddenly happening? I have had this phone for approximately 5 months now and it has never occured before this last week. Do you have any resolutions?

After the upgrade to gingerbread, it worked for a few days then acted up again. After a hard reset to factory, all working and the applications that seem to mess with the updater are weather related; my most suspicion is the Go Weather but cant isolate it for sure!
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have always been able to delete emails on my Atrix and still be able to download them on my PC later.I'm using the standard IMAP configuration that sets itself up to AT&T automatically.I have not altered those settings.I've deleted my 2 email accounts on my Atrix and reinstalled them.I can't find any options on my Atrix that allow me to choose to leave messages on the server.On my PC, I'm using Outlook 2007.In the email account configurations, I have checked the box that says "Leave a copy of the message on server".I have uninstalled Outlook and reinstalled it. No change.I also downloaded Mozilla's Thunderbird for email, to see if it also happened using software other than Outlook.It did.
I spent 2 hours on the phone with AT&T tech support yesterday.They hacked into my PC to check all of my email settings and couldn't find a problem.They're telling me it's the phone.I"m telling them it's the server!Every once in a while, a deleted email shows up on the PC, as usual, but it's rare, and only seems to happen in one account.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy very small company uses Exchange Server 2003 to host our own email. On my laptop, I use Outlook. When I'm out of the office I connect my laptop to the internet and access my exchange mail via an IMAP account. With that connection, I can send mail using the SMTP server. I got my new Atrix 2 and set up that account using the advanced settings that were the closest to the settings I use for the IMAP account in my Outlook setup. I was immediately able to see my inbox and receive email. After one tweak (that I can't remember any more), I was able to sent mail. Then a few hours later, I couldn't. I've tried every possible combination of the Advanced Settings in the Account Setup screens on the phone. Nothing works. I tried a Master Reset and all that accomplished was flushing away the contact list that the salesperson had copied to my new Atrix from my old phone when I bought it. I thought that was backed up to Google and would be restored when I logged back in but apparently not. Any advice on how to get that back? But the main problem is sending mail.

Surely someone at Nokia must know? crazy thing is, when I got the phone, I did get someone at orange to set it up for me & it worked fine for a while but now all i get is a message telling me "there is a communication error, try later"! needless to say "later" has never arrived even after 7 months!
Ive been told most newer phones have gone back to providing FULL & comprehensive sets of instructions so users can find out how to do stuff like this!
I can't send any email when I am using POP3 email, I have the same set up that I have in my iphone before. When I push send, the email goes to outbox and it will never send.

I have no way of referring back to earlier emails other than to refer back to my inbox using a PC. Is there any settings I can /should change to enable 'read' mail to stay in my E72 inbox? I use outlook with a POP3 e-mail account that syncs (new mail) with my iphone and ipad2. Is there a way or program that will allow me to delete e-mail from one device and also delete it from my pc and my iphone and/or ipad2 (depending on which device I happen to be on)?

When I had a Blackberry and you deleted a email you had two options:
1) Delete from local device
2) Delete from server and local device
Whith my Droid when I delete a email it still stays on server and therefore shows up as unread in Outlook.
I've changed the Fetch Schedule for email to Manually but I find that my phone is still periodically downloading the email automatically.

- from the phone I have forced to restore settings from the server.
- phone starts syncing, and downloads correctly Gmail headers
- nothing happens, as for the POP3 account
So, I have deleted and re-created the POP3 account 3 times, still no email incoming.
