I have tried to configure this several times and ways. some messages will remain on the server but most wont. I have to be doing something wrong but danged if I can figure it out. it happens on both my email acct. gmail and yahoo!
View 1 RepliesI have tried to configure rediffmail ID on my Torch 9800. I dont use email client viz MS Outlook etc. But it says you need to change settings there. How can i do it when i dont use them at all and access rediffmail directly? gmail and yahoo id have been configured properly and working fine.

He keeps EVERY email he receives on his computer, but does not want to keep them on his phone. Is there any possible way to delete an email off of the iPhone but keep it on the server? He uses Yahoo Mail & Novell Group Wise.

how to set my Atrix to leave email on the server in my POP account? It seems the default is to remove it from the server and there is not option to change it...as with email clients like Outlook? Anybody?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI created a POP3 account using the "Accounts" app. All is good, it can send & receive emails & they appear in the Blur messaging widgets, which I like.My problem is that I do not want the phone to delete the emails from the server as I get my main PC's Outlook to download & store all the emails when it is switched on.Can it be done? It would be a nice new feature to add if it isn't already in.

Incoming messages sync correctly but messages I delete on the phone do not delete from the server. On the D1 the two-way sync worked correctly for emails deleted on the phone but I can't seem to get it to work on the D4.My settings for the corporate sync account are:Username: full @hotmail email addressPassword: passwordServer: m.hotmail.comUse secure connection: yesProxy: blankAnyone else having this problem? We need an option/feature so that when you delete messages from the email server that they are removed from the phone. Having to redundantly delete messages from the phone that have already been deleted from the server is ridiculous.
The opposite is provided ... you can choose if you want to delete messages from the server when you delete them from the phone but the reverse needs to be provided as well.
Recently switched from Blackberry to Droid 4 and set up a corporate sync account.Is there a way to delete email messages from my phone without them also being deleted from my PC inbox? I like to hang on to email on my PC but don't need it cluttering up my phone.

When using Nokia email client via IMAP or POP, I cannot find where I can set it up to leave the message on server while deleting it on the phone: I have got thousands e-mails on server (and coming like hundreds dayly) and I don't want to keep them on the phone after reading them.But I DO need them on the server!

When I had a Blackberry and you deleted a email you had two options:
1) Delete from local device
2) Delete from server and local device
Whith my Droid when I delete a email it still stays on server and therefore shows up as unread in Outlook.
E-mail mesages seem to be coming in fine BUT I often get the notice "Invalid Server Certificate". What does that indicate and how can I keep that from being the nuisance that it is?

I've had my new Droid 4 since June 6. I was able to set up my yahoo email and gmail accounts. However, Cox is my primary...day-to-day...email and I can't get the account to set up correctly. I've followed the manual set up instructions posted ny Motorola and I still get a Server Error message.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had the RAZR for a few days now, and one of the main things I used my last phone for (droid x) was to listen to music at work.I've been listening to music these past three days, and when I look at the battery use chart, there is something called "Mediaserver" using up a significant amount of battery life (~20% or more if I've listened to a lot of music). On my droid x I never saw this process on my battery use, and I am wondering if there is an option or something that I am overlooking that is increasing the amount of battery drain from listening to music.I listen to mp3s on the stock music app and to mp3 and m4a podcasts using Pocket Casts.I can't say for sure, but Mediaserver seems to not appear on the battery list until I start listening to music and to not increase the amount of battery that it uses while not listening to music.

So, when I purchased my Droid 2 last year, there was no problem importing them into the phone with the exchange server. But, when the number increased above 1500, I noticed that the phone only accommodates 1487. note that I don't import contacts from other sources like Google or a social networking site.

The problem is that I'd like to leave the emails on the computer but be able to remove some of them from my Bionic after I see them. Is there a way to set up the Bionic so that I can delete them from the phone but leave them on the computer so that I can respond to them later?
As it is now, I am just leaving them on the phone until after I take care of business on the computer...then I go back to the phone and delete them. I'm thinking about K9 as I have heard a lot about it. Not sure if it will be the answer to my prayers or not but I'll check here first.
If I delete an email from my phone before it is dowloaded to my desktop it is deleted from the server.So it never gets to my desktop.

It all works great, but is there SOME way to delete emails from there without it deleting them from my email server? My email is in gmail; on the desktop at home I read it through Firefox. If I delete ANY messages on the phone, even messages that have been read, they are deleted from my gmail account at home (they are in the trash). I've looked and looked and can't find a setting on the phone that would prevent this.

Recently, and it may be a coincidence that the phone automatically applied an android patch, I get a message when opening an email that is longer than 2 paragraphs of HTML text. The message says "to save data, this message was partially downloaded. And then there is a button to get full message. When I select that, I get an error that it is unable to fetch message body from server.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was working after lunch and noticed that my phone was getting hotter and hotter. When I looked at the screen it showed constant data up and down. I wasnt syncing anything or surfing but it wouldnt stop. I shut down and restarted and even did the software "Battery Pull" but soon enough it would start data again and the battery would be eaten up. It was on 4G. Then finally it would stop an hour or so later. If I start the music app again it starts all over. Here is a thread on another site where we are trying to narrow it down. They think it may be the media server as it shows a lot of data usage!
View 15 Replies View RelatedSo my turbo is set up nice, but when I decided to add in my google play music account, after entering my email it says it cant communicate with google servers. I tried removing my google account and readding to the phone, but that didnt work either. 2 step verification is not turned on with my account as well.
Apparently all I had to do was click on my email that was on the main screen. Telling it to add an existing probably confused it? But anyways, now Im curious because my google music settings show NO authorized devices. Is my phone not authorized anymore? My old phone was on there, but I deleted it from the list, now no devices are there....I mean, Im listening to music with it, and I can buy songs, so Im confused. Or is it a moot point because I only use a STANDARD account?

I am in I.T., and spent the moring with two co-workers troubleshooting this. We moved the phone into a test area with no policies, then turned on and off each policy, testing connectivity results for each one.The only policy preventing the phone from connecting to the server was, "Password Required". The phone can connect to the server only if a password is not required.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI set up motoprint so it prints to a HP Laserjet shared by a computer called "Outcast" on my home network. I installed Motoprint on "Enterprise", my main computer that I use which also prints to the Laserjet over the home wifi. I also have Motoprint set up on my RAZR. The RAZR sees the printer in Manage Printers and says that it is online. I print to it without error, but nothing prints. The Print Queue shows the document as "job sent to server" and there appears no way to clear it. When I look on Enterprise's printer status it doesnt' show anything in the print queue. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit.
